Looks like I'm first in the Tea Room this morning! No tea, just coffee.
I had a fun Friday and Saturday. On Friday nite, DBF and I went to a concert and were hanging out with the band after. Saturday we spent mostly napping together, and eating chocolate chip pancakes. Yesterday was icky, I thought of posting, but I was in such a funk I didn't feel like being a downer! Either I had the longest prodrome ever, or I had an all day silent migraine. I am leaning towards the latter because nothing but a migraine could make me feel as horrid as I did yesterday. Just that lovely "I've been run over by a bus" feeling. Unfortunately I don't think I am going to be able to dogde the beastie today. I don't think the huge rain/thunder storm front moving up the east coast is helping... stupid weather patterns! wow, sounds like I'm being a downer again!!! D'oh! Sorry guys! I hope everyone's day is off to a much better start than mine!! |

Good Morning!
Kat, sorry you're not feeling well. I had a pretty good weekend. This is the first weekend in a very long time that I've felt good and didn't have a migraine. I was actually able to get some house work done. It felt good to get something accoplished. On Saturday, I bought my 16 year-old son a puppy. I let him pick her out. The puppy is so tiny and cute. She is getting along with our other dogs OK. I have an appointment with my neurologist today. I have several things to discuss with him. I hope everyone has a good Monday. |

Hi Gang -
Had a walk out in the rain with Kimi this morning. It didn't last long - I got tired of being cold & wet pretty fast. Just needed to get out & move a little after my weekend of being cooped up in a conference room. Now I'm looking out my window at the afghan I left hanging on the clothes line before the rain started. Soaking wet again now, and we're expecting 1 - 3 more inches of rain today!!! Had another end-of-day migraine last night. No surprise after the weekend I had. That made three since Thursday. No more Imitrex for me for a few days. Heather enjoy the puppy, and good luck at the neuro! Eileen I hope the weather doesn't affect your head! Kat so sorry you felt so lousy yesterday, and today starting - I hope you can head it off. Take good care of yourself! - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Good Morning,
Kat I would hide from the weather if I could. I hope the abortive works and you can get on with your day. Heather, a puppy, what kind? And how many dogs does this make? Megs I'm sure the walk, no matter how short did feel good. We did not go our walk last night. Neither one of us really felt like it. We BBQ'd burgers and had a quiet dinner here. We had both worked very hard all weekend and felt no need to get more exercise. It was fun yesterday working with my DS. He is a funny young man. He was helping prune the orange tree. At one point he wanted to get up in in, but due to his size that just didn't work for him any longer. But getting on the house did. The little bird with his house near the tree was very unhappy with us. We got out of the tree as soon as we could to leave them alone. But this little sparrow like bird was giving us the what for. We did not feel threatned. Yesterday afternoon, I slipped and landed on my tush. Nothing broken of course, but my bottom and left arm hurt. Such a silly thing to do and I knew better. I had on the wrong shoes on a hill with leaves. Well hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go. Have good day everyone. Cindy |

Dull ache today following a migraine weekend. It could have something to do with the weather too
I have papers to grade, finals to write, and loads of laundry. The girls and I also need to make banana bread before our bananas spoil. That sounds like a priority to me. Hoping today is a good start to the week for you. Liz |

Good morning everyone,
Today is a busy day for me. My son just bought a car on Wednesday and it already broke down. The poor kid is heartbroken. Anyway, I've already been back and forth to the car, towing and mechanic. I decided to take down the wallpaper in my dining room and am getting ready to go sand the walls and prep them for paint. Wow, this project was more than I thought. Then yet another dentist appointment for Paulie. The bonding that was put it came out two days later. It's on his front tooth and those bondings are hard to maintain. Kat-I hope you feel better Eileen-As usual, you and I are getting the same weather system. So far so good for me too. Fingers are crossed for you! Heather-Yea! A good weekend, I'm happy to hear it. Good luck at the doctor's today. Megs-I'm hoping you feel better too. Yikes, poor afghan, I hope you find a place for it inside Cindy-I'm glad you had fun with your son, very cool. Sorry you hurt yourself though...heal soon Liz-I'm glad your migraine past, now to get rid of the migraine hangover Have a great day everyone! Good Morning,
Kat-SS you are feeling icky yesterday and the beast found you today Eileen-Hope your days stays perfect Heather-You and hoopsky can exchange notes on puppy training LOL. What kind of puppy did you get? Let us know how the nuero appt goes. Megs-take it slow and hopefully it is just post-drome. I can just imagine your face when you saw your afghan in the rain. It's like when you wash your car, you know it will rain the next day LOL Cindy-Hope you arm and bottom is okay. Don't you hate it, the older we get the more it hurts when we fall LOL Liz-Yep, banana bread is a top priority in my book Laura-I can believe your son's car broke already, what a bummer!! Hopefully it is an easy fix. Yesterdays Tea: Jenny-Miss ya girl MJ-ss you are still having such a rough time, just know I think about you and sending positive cyber vibes Gretchen-How did Sparky do with the Miralax? Also, I chicken out last night and did not take the verapamil. I am going to take it tonight. Bill will be home so I will feel safer. Did it lower you b/p? That is the only thing I am really worried about because my b/p is low already. I don't think I have to worry about constipation, I have the opposite problem, if ya know what I mean LOL. As for me, I have alot of house work today. My head is pretty clear, so I am happy about that. Not much else. Have a super Monday |

Good Morning Guys---
At last a day off. For all of you who really work, I know you'll laugh, but I had a 5 day in a row stint which is unusual for me so I'm glad that's over. I'll love the check on Thursday though. I usually work 2 days a week. I consider myself semi-retired. I only work to pay for Harmoni and for a little of extra cash to make life easier, and because I enjoy working, providing of course I enjoy where I work, which I do now. It also makes it possible for us to take trips to England, etc. on vacation now and then. Was fine through the tornadoes etc. but had to treat a migraine on Sunday around 3 a.m. and then again last night around midnight. We had a big front blow thru--dropped temp from high 80's to low 60's, so figured that was the trigger. DH has started a new cycle of clusters. He's never had 2 cycles less than a year apart before. I'm pretty sure I know the main trigger for them, but he doesn't want to hear it. Isn't about to stop using the trigger. Kat, Eileen, and Laura--I hope that the migraine monster is merciful today and goes somewhere else. Liz--I pray the weather doesn't get you. I so much hate that being such a primary trigger, since it's so unsettled! I didn't become a teacher because of "papers to grade" (my mom was a really good teacher and seemed to spend her life grading papers). Cindy--Having fun with your son--it makes me so nostalgic. I swear even now, if we could convence our oldest to have enough confidence to be a failure while he learns to get the timing right in front of an audience, he could have become a successful comedian. Heather--What great fun! I could spend my life raising puppies! But I really don't want a whole pack of dogs. Good luck at your appt today. Megs--Hope you get to feeling better today now that the weekend stressors are past. The wet afgan is one of my favorite tricks. I even had to buy a standing dryer thingy that I can set up in the bathtub for all the times I have to redry something that ended up rain wet! Laura--I hope the weather leaves you alone today. I guess DS is having to learn a few grown up realities the hard way, huh. At least he has a great mom to be supportive and help him cope. It's so great when you have a responsible kid that you can work with and know he won't be just expecting the "parent-fairy" to bail him out of any difficulties he runs into. I should know--can't figure out why, but I have one of each! Let's hope for a great Monday for everybody. Tracie |

Good afternoon. I'm late.
Slept in a bit this morning. Actually, I made the coffee and straightened the kitchen, then went back to bed. Have a beast starting in my neck. Took my Imitrex. It's in the low 60s. We had rain over the weekend. A new low at Diet Center -- 167 1/2. That makes 40 pounds! About 30 to go. I hope the weather doesn't trigger anyone. I made it through this last strong cold front OK. Dar -- Sparky had a BM this morning with no straining, so maybe the Miralax is helping. My GI doc says they're studying using verapamil to stop diarrhea in people with IBS. It might help you in that department. I had my turning-50 colonoscopy last week, and my BP was normal. I've got the beginnings of hypertension and am taking Avapro. Don't know whether that has anything to do with it. Cindy -- I can just see you being fussed at by a sparrow! Laura -- good luck for Paulie at the dentist. I had an injury to my front teeth when I was 9. I've had to tend to it every 5 or 6 years, but otherwise, once the immediate treatment was over, I was OK. I hope Paulie finds a permanent solution. I'm off to the garden center to get tomatoes and peppers. Probably impatiens and vincas, too. -- Gretchen in Mississippi |

Hello, my friends!
A grey, cloudy, miserable, rainy Monday here in the Big Apple. Before I stopped working I really hated rainy weekdays. Trying to get around this city in the rain is impossible. I don't know why, but surface traffic justs crawls to a halt. Then walking while juggling an umbrella, a purse and a briefcase is always fun! Plus I think I'm part cat -- I just hate getting wet. So I used to take rainy days as a personal affront. Today I'm just grateful I don't have to go out in the rain. Instead I'm snug as that bug in that ol' rug. I'm nursing a Day 2 level mig hangover, but other than that I'm good. Lots of good family news, my sister is getting a special award at work, my brother is looking for a good computer job (after driving a cab for a year -- long story) and has found a used car he wants to buy. Does this sound like a good deal, all you car owners out there? A 1995 Chevy Lumina with working a/c (very important for Florida) for $800??? We don't own a car in the city so we have no clue on price ranges. DH is playing squash tonight so I'm on my own for din-din. There's some leftover pasta I might heat up. Or I might have Eggos! My tummy's even more delicate than usual because of the tetracycline. Or as I call it, the "nausea fairy" has been visiting again. Just mild queasiness but it sure takes my appetite away. I have one chapter left in the novel I'm reading. I'm hopelessly behind on newspapers. I heard there's some kind of election going on???!!! LOL. And that's about all I have to say. Good day, everybody. LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |

Hi guys -
I just went to my PCP's for some routine blood work - and mentioned that the last two times I was there I forgot to take them up on Imitrex samples - so the nurse came out with 20 samples! They just saved me over $100! "Oh, they were just sitting there," she says. They are always SO nice! My head's doing better than this morning. Danny & I did some really good talking & planning - life is so unsettled right now, but it sure helps to put our heads together about it. LauraSue in my area you couldn't find a car that runs for $800. Sounds like a good deal if it isn't about to fall apart! I'd be sure he gets a mechanic to make sure it doesn't need major systems replaced. Gretchen have fun at the garden center and plant something for me, too. This weekend I make it into the garden come ... or high water (right now high water looks most likely). Tracie I hope DH's clusters back off! Dar I'm glad you have a clear head today - you deserve it! Laura you're such a good Mom running around helping with your son's car! Wallpaper can be a huge job - be sure to take care of yourself too. Liz I agree banana bread is a good choice. My last bananas went to far for even bread. Cindy ouch! Yelled at by a sparrow and fell on your tush - not your day! I hope you feel better. This is my taking it easy day after my heavy weekend so I'm declaring desk time over. Going to go deal with that wet afghan (hang it over the shower enclosure) and fold laundry and sort mail and such. - megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |
