Good Morning,
I just want to go back to bed. I woke up with a minor migraine around 4 am, took Imitrix, went back to sleep. The alarm went off too soon. I have to meet DD at 7:30 to switch cars (she has mine). So I have to move. For some reason the Imitrex is impacting me more than usual. Oh the joys of changing meds. Have to go into the office as I brought nothing home to work on or from. I'm rambling and not sounding very coherent am I? The Depokote is working for the most part. I should have taken the Imitrex last night. Just so difficult to know I'm getting a migraine now. The prodrome and aura have all just changed. I have 30 years of something I was used to and had all figured out. Maybe this belonged in the vent folder.... Well has anyone seen their "Economic Stimulus" check yet? In theroy I would have mine by 5/16. DBF should have his by Friday. I will bug him all week to see if his is deposited in his account. My kids are probably going to Turkey this summer. They were pretty cute at dinner when I asked them if they wanted to stay longer than their dad. You mean, dad would leave, we'd get to stay with the cousins and do what WE want? They were all over that. Their life is so different then mine growing up. I had no family in any place more exotic than Minnosota!!! Our exciting vacations were Disneyland and San Francisco. I do marvel at them at what they have seen and have done. Ok, it's get ready for work time. I'm not moving fast and I need to move. I hope you all are having better mornings. Has anyone heard from Jenny? Cindy |

Good Morning.
Cindy, I'm sorry your not feeling well. I hope your Imitrex starts to work soon. I have to say that this is the longest I've gone in a long time without a migraine. Feels good. I hoping its the preventatives along with the changes in my diet that are the difference. Whatever it is, I'll take it. Our new puppy is a mix between a Yorkie and Bichon Frise. My son named her Gizmo. She is so cute. She has the coloring of the Yorkie and the coat of the Bichon. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday. Time for me to get to work. |

Morning all - notice I left out the good!
Well good morning to you all, but it's not good for me! Cindy - I don't think the checks start rolling out till tomorrow??? I should get mine this week - it goes by the last 2 digits of your social - which is 03 for me - so yeeha! Thank god I listed myself first insead of DH who is like 9 something! LOL Yeah, so the reason the morning is not so good - it's return of perfume girl! Oh yeah! Sister decided to bathe in it today! I seriously am thinking of just going home sick. I mean does she need to be written up to understand not to do this? She has been spoken to twice by myself and at least twice by my boss. I'm just done. Yep - so that's where I'm at today. Prodrome from the nether regions....nausea, chills, dizzy, no aura yet, but I know it has to be on it's way. I'm really surprised I don't have head pain yet....I mean my whole office smells like a french brothel - seriously!!!!!!!!! And to think that she thinks it smells good boggles my mind too!!!! Ok, enough ranting. I'm going to tell boss I'm leaving early. I may try and stick it out till noon, but I'm so done with having to sacrifice my health for the guilt of my job. I hope the rest of you are having a much better day then I. Hugs to all!! Eileen don't make yourself sick, please. It's hard enough to avoid getting migraines without some idiot bathing themselves in a trigger. As if you don't have enough to deal with.
Heather your puppy sounds wonderful and so cute. Moving has helped along with the shower. DD is ready to be met in a few minutes to switch cars. So I will be ready to meet her. It was a strugle, but at least my head cooperatated. Take care everyone, Cindy |

Morning all (I won't know if its good or not probably til about noon!)
First of all, sorry I was such a buzz kill in the Tea Room yesterday. I re-read the post and realized it really should have gone in the Vents&Gripes folder! Cindy- here's hoping your Imitrex works and beats the beastie! Heather- Yay for 8 pain free days! I think the last time I had a strech that long was October! I'm so jealous! Be careful about saying it out loud though. The last time I said it out loud the universe heard me and proved me wrong within about two hours!!! Eileen: GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF THERE! As for me, hoping to dodge the beastie today. I took most of yesterday off, which helped. I called my neurologist to see if I could get in sooner than my May 26, but the soonest they had was May 22. I wanted to see her b/c the depakote isn't working, and now my Relpax seems to be not working either. My migrianes keep getting longer and longer. Not cool. In the meantime, I am going to go to my PCP and see if he can write me an Rx for a new abortive. Just to see if I can find something more effective.... Hope everyone has a good pain free day. |

Anybody heard from Laura in Virginia yet? They had a bad tornado near Norfolk. I hope she's okay.

You'd think I was on the phone with you all this morning!!! My nice co-worker unscrewed the light over my desk so the one florescent over my cube is out. I have dimmed my monitor. And taken a second Imitrex. The migraine is very mild, maybe a 2, but a persistent little devil.
I scanned the board and Laura has not posted this morning from what I can tell. Nor has JennyC. We need to know where our chicks all are!! Kat, I like the idea of Eileen getting to use Perfume Girls sick leave. And I have notices that people only bath in bad perfume. There must be a rule someplace. I am going to try and work on reimbursement calculations. May not be the best idea, math and imitrex, but oh well!! Cindy |

Hi gang -
Eileen they should make perfume girl go home sick. Really. Your boss should tell her - "You're sick! Go home. Only a sick person would keep wearing that schlock to work when it harms a co-worker. Don't come back until you're cured." Guys I want to address everyone but I can't get my achy brain around it. I am feeling rotten. Yesterday was a good day until about 8 pm when my whole body started to ache. Today I woke up feeling the same, went back to sleep for 2 hours after the kids left for school and felt a little better when I got up, but now my head is hurting. It's what I call the grapefruit spoon headache - as if little people with grapefruit spoons were trying to separate my brain from my skull at both temples. It stings and burns. I don't know if this is a migraine or not. I suspect it's at least "migrainous." I had Imitrex Thurs, Sat & Sun. Don't know if this could be MOH - but it's nothing like a TTH. I'm afraid to take more Imitrex for it. In the meantime I can't think and can't get any work done. Blahh! I think it's the bed and the icepack for me. Hope to be able to focus more later & come say hi to everyone. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

I'm posting a quick hello from home before I walk over to work. (Have I mentioned that I only live half a block from my office? That makes leaving early really easy, and plus I normally go home for lunch. And no commute to worry about.) I'm feeling pretty blech this morning - head pain isn't too bad yet, but definitely dizzy and nauseous. We'll see how I do under the fluorescents today.
Hope all of you not feeling well today start doing better - I'll check back in later if I have some time. Have a good (or tolerable at least) Tuesday! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ "What will you do, if it does not turn out how you expect?" "I do not know. I did it again! No mig yesterday!!
My head hurts a little this morning, but I have it on ice, so that helps. I have a couple phone calls to make and I need to check my email. I'm still working on my backlog of newspapers. I finished my novel last night. But I don't have to go out today, so that's nice. And DH will be out tonight (going to the NY Rangers playoff game), so it will be a nice quiet day and evening for me. Ahh, bliss! DH had a great idea this morning. He said they should make a helmet with a built-in refrigeration unit!!!!! Or at least a cold pack lining that would stay cold!! Whattaya think, girls? We could do them in pretty colors or flower patterns. We could have dragon-scaly ones. We could do them in school colors or with pictures of our families on them. I think we're on to something here. Of course it would need a very dark visor face plate. And noise muffling device. But we could walk around and do things and still have our heads iced! Oh and a smell repeller to deal with Perfume Girls! LOL! LauraSue. (I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. Hi Everyone,
LauraSue-I think you may be on to something It would totally help when I get vertiago incase of a fall LOL. Maybe you could add one of those bottle with a straw for ginger tea for nausea. MJ-That great you don't have to commute. I hear ya on the dizzy and nauseous, that my morning this morning no fun at all. Megs-The grapefuruit spoon definition gave me a headache OUCH!! Get some rest and I hope you feel better soon. Cindy-Where are our girls? I am a little worried. Laura might not have power though. Hopefully Jenny will check in soon. She might have made the trip to the doctors. Hope your migraine goes away Kat-your never a buzz kill. We all get it Eileen-That's it Heather-Your puppy sound soo cute!! I love the name!! That is so great that you are having such a good run of no migraine. Shhh, we don't want to wake the beast LOL. As for me, I got a bad migraine last night, so much for my clear head yesterday. Today, I started my morning with my head in the tolet Whoohoo what fun. I am just so nauseous. I am feeling a little better. It is sipping on ginger tea today in my cave. I will check in on everyone later. |

Oh yeah--I could go for that helmet! I always wear a helmet to ride when I'm not showing, and if I can manage to get on, the endorphins always make me better at least on the horse. With a helmet like that maybe the lack of pain would last longer, or I could manage to get on more often!
Eileen--how about getting all the other workers to get the old fashioned clothes pins and when perfume girl shows up to work, everyone could put them on their noses, a-la looney tunes! What a show of solidarity that would be. Cindy--My migraine reactions have also changed quite recently. Mine have been that I can simply no longer communicate effectively in the midst of a headache. I think I can--but EVERYTHING comes out garbled and I can be talked into trying drugs I KNOW I can't take. Heather--What a charming-sounding puppy. Don't get behind with the brushing! I used to breed persians and had I known how much brushing and combing was required I might have started with another breed. But persians are so cute and saleable, especially white ones. And, if you really love raising kittens, at least persians usually find homes that really value them, don't let them out to roam and breed indiscrimantly, etc. I'm so sorry that so many are fighting the monster today. And, I'm really worried about everybody in Virginia. We live at the tailend of tornado alley but have never actually had a tornado here. We live about 5 miles from Jarrell TX which appears to be a major tornado magnet. I was in a tornado when I was 7, which started my very real fear of the things, but also my fascination. I want to know every way they can appear, so I can learn to see them in advance!!! Off to check the antique Egyptian shawl I'm trying to win on EBay. Tracie |

Well I think since everyone else is having allergy issues, they can't smell it - how I have no idea!!!!!
So I think I had a silent migraine - interesting - this may be my first one! I had prodrome that's for sure! I'm still walking around in a fog, but I never got the head pain - I don't know if I've hit the postdrome yet, I'll keep ya posted! LOL I'm just hanging out on my side of the room. Oh, and yeah, perfume girl is 3 rooms away from me, so it's not like we are near each other, but I can still smell her!!!! Good morning. I seem to be doing good today, headache-wise. It's just a dull one, not too bad so I'm happy.
We had to take all 3 labradors to the vet this morning. Ugh! The two older ones both have eye infections (like doggy pink eye). The puppy was in for round 2 of her puppy shots. We have antibiotics and eye drops for all. How fun! Cindy, sorry you're feeling bad. I'm glad the depakote is helping some. Do as little as possible today and try to get some more sleep. Heather, your puppy sounds adorable. I wanted a smaller dog this time around but I was out-voted by the fraternity house I live in. I love our new puppy though. How long is yours sleeping at night? We're up to 7 hours. Yay! Are you crate training? Eileen, I'm so sorry to hear about perfume girl. She's probably doing it on purpose just to bug you. Kat, keep calling the neuro. They may have a cancellation before the 22nd. I was on depakote for over a year. It worked great but then after a year stopped working. It was great while it lasted. I'm sorry the relpax isn't working. I take relpax too. It works about 70% of the time but I find if I start taking it a lot, it stops working. It's frustrating. Maven, I think the bed is calling your name. Work will wait. MaxJerz, it's nice to be so close to work. Maybe you can catch a cat nap at home for lunch. Before I went on temporary disability, I used to sleep during lunch. It's amazing what 20 minutes can do sometimes. Laura, call the patent office. Start the paperwork! Dar, I think I want to try your ginger tea. What brand is it? Tracie, hope you win the shawl. I love ebay. Here's hoping the migraine cloud that is over everyone clears. |

Hello everyone! For the first time in five years I've gone about 11 days without a migraine. Unfortunately, I think I have one coming on now, so my streak is breaking.
Still, it feels amazingly awesome to have had such a long break. I've been able to take daily walks, enjoy some time with my husband and do lots of knitting. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I guess I'd better go take something now, though. Healing wishes to all of you in pain today.
