Good morning, everyone!

We had a rough night at my house last night. Strong, windy storms blew through for most of the night. At about 4AM, a branch from one of our trees blew off against the house! The noise was so loud it woke us all! Dh and I spend the rest of the night sharing our bed with 2 little boys and their various stuffed animals...They both toss and turn a lot in their sleep, so I'm quite tired today.

I'm hanging in there a for just a little while longer! The last few days the migs have been very bad late at night and in the AM. But I'll see the doctor soon for another nerve block and some med recommendations...

Thinking of you guys! Have a healthy Wednesday! Smiler

Hey good morning all -

Jenny sorry to hear about your shock in the night - it was incredibly windy here too, pouring, and thundering! I do hope you feel better soon - and that your dr. visit is really helpful!

I had a really weird case of dizzies this morning - not dizzy like my head was spinning, I got up out of bed and lurched across the room and just managed to catch myself on the bureau before falling over. It felt like the spirit level in my head that should tell me what is vertical was way way off. I tried walking to the bathroom and had the same thing. Like the entire floor was tipped 45 degrees. I had to stand really still and take deep breaths and it took about 5 minutes to pass. Only time I've had something like that before was with an inner ear infection. I do get vertigo sometimes and have assumed it's connected with Migraine disease, but it's totally unpredictable and isn't necessarily linked to a migraine attack.

Trouble sleeping last night, third night in a row. Just couldn't turn the brain off. And the thunderstorm didn't help. After I got the kids off on the bus I went back to bed for an hour, after that is when I had the dizzies.

Deb I was thinking of you yesterday and your worries for Kath. I could so relate! There's a new book out called "Yes, Your Teenager Really is Crazy" which I read a review of - all about how adolescent hormones and brain development create a state that has some similarities with psychosis. The good news is they grow out of it! Rachel's social life was a big worry for me from about 4th grade (when the cliques first started) through about 8th grade. I would ask her why she didn't call someone - get an angry answer and be told to mind my own business. I once made the huge mistake of introducing her to another girl who was a friend of a friend of hers - I said "you two know someone in common." Apparently that was the most embarrassing thing I could ever have said. She wouldn't speak to me for days (or that's what it seemed like). And I heard about it for years after! So I totally backed off on trying to do anything directly - just dropped remarks in casual conversation about how I remember I had to call my friends for this or that, or tell little stories about what worked for me and what didn't, and eventually she started confiding in me a little. Of course, every kid's different - just try not to worry too much!

I wanted to let you all know that my "confrontation" on the phone the other day was really good for me - I made a decision, took action, said I'm not doing something any more, and already new business opportunities are opening up. I've had several new things offered to me in the 2 days since the call. You know, how when one door closes, another opens? Anyway, thanks for all the support there!

Well, this is getting long and I need to go do some work. Hope everyone feels well today!

- megs

Good morning, Megs!

Geez...those dizzies sound icky! Razzer Sure sounds like vertigo...I really hope it doesn't return!!!

Deb, Megs jogged my memory...There's a book out there called "Adolescence Isn't Terminal--It Just Feels Like It" by Dr. Kevin Leman. My sister loved it! I have it on my shelf because she bought it for me "for future reference" (my kids are only 7 and 5 right now--but I'll be reading it soon enough).

Anyway, just wanted to share! Smiler

What's up everyone!

I'm here, trying not to get whatever it is DH has!

He went to work, and then got sent home, because he is so sick. I've never heard him this bad. He never gets sick! Now this is the second time in like 2 months!

I hope I don't get it! But, I feel it working on me! I just keep taking my Vitamin C and my Multi and hoping for the best! Fingers Crossed

Yes, those winds and rain were crazy near me last night too!! They were a little crazy for a bit once I got to work too, I was hoping for a power outage so I could go home and watch daytime TV with DH, but no, that did not happen.

Oh well, back to the grind.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning All..

Wow! what a storm we had in NJ! The baby (aka our puppy) had to go out at 2:30 in the morning and my Fiance said the winds were so bad he was going to put us all in the basement. It's so nice and sunny now, you would've never known! Crazy.

So, I never made it to the Flea Market yesterday, my sister had to cancel. I was a little disappointed, but I did get out to enjoy the fresh air. It was a nice day after all.

Today I am making it a priority to get my daily diary in order. I have 2 doctor appintments next week and I am a post-it girl to a fault! It's time to gather my little post-it's and get them into my diary where they belong.

I hope all are well, and those who aren't my thoughts are with ya!!

Hi all.

I had a rough night last night too but I can't blame it on the weather. Between the twitchy, nausea, and my asthma which decided to join the party I was up half the night.

But I cheated and didn't take my med last night and I feel tons better this morning. I could have tried to take it but I would have just thrown it back up so didn't seem like much point.

Called the neuro this morning and talked to the nurse about my muscle twitches and escalated nausea. She says the med's not supposed to do the twitchy thing (duh?) and I should try to take something for the nausea and she tried to tell me what she said monday and then she realized I was the person who had asked on monday so she said she was going to go ask the doctor. So we'll see how they do about calling me back.

Ah, teenagers. Interpersonal relationships at that age are such a whorlwind! It really wasn't that long ago for me, but oh what a different life that was.
You think that everything you think is the absolute truth and everyone else who doesn't agree with you is just horribly wrong. I remember at that age I was so sure what was right and what was wrong - there was no grey area. And it really doesn't occur to you to try to go at something from someone else's point of view, the only POV you know is yours.

Luckily at least it is eventually over. My mother an I fought bitterly during my teenage years, but eventually I grew up.

Congrats megs on the call and new business.
Jenny - sorry you had a rough night.

Whoa, what weather last night. What a migraine. I am so postdromey right now that a rock might have a better chance at doing work than I have.
I considered calling out-and then realized that I didn't have the number memorized. (Yes I did, but couldn't think of it at the time.)

My cats were all worried last night from the winds and the rain and the krazy beeping of the NOAA weather radio. Then there was a tornado warning for a place 4 miles away from us, and DH wasn't home, and I was in pain, and had to think about going and getting the cats and the pillows and a mattress to duck under while all of our cats (who don't love each other) and I would duck in our bathtub. It turned out that there was no tornado, which is very good- 'cause I was very slow on the draw, and wouldn't have had anything ready.

I am so tired that it's not funny. I fear I'm going to reinjure my elbow by doing something for work that i shouldn't be doing yet.

Oh, and forget about my ticker- it should read 0 days. I just haven't changed it yet.

Today is a bright and sunny day with tons of snow piled everywhere. The good thing about March is it melts fast; the bad thing about March is it melts fast (think mud and dog.)

With no school yesterday, Kath was ok. Today it was back to school and since she had a 2 1/2 hour late start, I took her to school so she wouldn't have to walk in all the snow to the bus stop. She seemed releaved that she didn't have to take the bus with her best(?) friend.

We'll see how today goes.

Thanks for the book recommendations Megs and Jenny. Love the titles.

Everyone else, I'm glad you all got through the storms and I'm glad it wasn't me! Wink

Good Morning Everyone,

I am popping in quickly to say hi Big Grin. Sounds like a lot of you have had some crazy wind and weather. Stay safe. Those winds sound pretty dangerous. Jamie-thank goodness the tornado did not come any closer to you Hair Raising To me, that just plain scary.

I am feeling good today and am on a mission to get organized and make the most out of my day. I already got a jump start on my office and paperwork. Now it is off to clean out the garage.

I have been a little depressed the last couple days about my migraines and how it is affecting my life. Well, I have decided to be more positive and have started to write a positive journal entry every day about things that are good everyday. I think it is a start for me to feel better about things. Yes

So, I hope everyone has a great day and those who are in pain feel better Flower

Good almost morning, everyone! I almost made it on the forum in the a.m., missed by 45 minutes.

Jenny, that must have been scary when the branch hit the house. Glad everything's okay.

Megs, it's so true that one door closes and another one opens. I was just telling someone that yesterday. It has definitely happened in my life, more than once!

Eileen, hope you don't catch your husband's bug. Vitamin C works for me too.

Jamie and Laurelin, sounds like everyone had a rough night, wow. I actually had a really good night's sleep, way better than normal.

Dar, great idea about the positive journal. I do that, too. A friend calls it a "gratitude list!"

My day includes my weekly therapist appt (psychiatrist, for chronic depression which is under control at the moment thank goodness). Then stop at the drugstore to pick up my Imitrex refill. Other than that, just taking it easy and waiting to see if yesterday's migraine decides to come back for a second day.

So much for doing nothing the rest of today. I'm gearing up for forum time. After a while, I've got a book to pick up at the library, and my Armour to pick up at the pharmacy, since they didn't have enough of the little 15mg ones. I also got roped into playing Bunco with my sister's group again tonight (I sub sometimes).

I saw my neuro doc this morning, got my med refills, and scheduled an MRI for Saturday morning. We're mostly doing it to either rule in or out a Chiari malformation, but anything else that might want to make an appearance can have its chance, too. It's been quite a long while since the last time we did one to look for MS, so it's probably a good idea to peek in the brainbucket again, anyway.

Other than that, nothing much going on here. Same old comfortable rut. Big Grin

Ruts are definitely nice. Routine is comforting and reassuring. And easy on the migraine brain!
