Morning all. 2:53 to be exact here Smiler Sorry, not going to say it is a good one but I will wish that it is good for each of YOU Smiler
Today would have been my folks 65th wedding anniversary. We lost Dad in 1982, but Mom is still with us!
Thanks all for the well wishes. The head remains the same- varying between a 7 and a 10...I have to wait till Sunday because it is my next day off work. I can't afford to miss hours this check. It is the check that most of my bills are due. Worrying about the bills is just an added stressor I don't need right now!
I do know status migrainous. Unfortunately I have been treated for it on numerous occasions. Once I was actually in the hospital 32 days....this after I had already had the migraine as long. Whew!
I will definitely be canceling the appt at Diamond. It just isn't the right timing I guess.

Lynn- hope your shoulder heals more each day. Its hard to be out of action!

Duchess and Dar- I too have a "nice blanky"- Mum made it for me years ago

Amy- I know no one can force me to have the shunt. I guess that we went into the idea of the appointment with the thought that is there is an agreement I need it, we will probably do it. This interminable waiting is so hard though!
I hope your head got better!

Megs- thanks for the support. Looks like a differing appt will be later. But I will do the ER thing soon if needed.

Alaura- The school, the kids, everyone involved is in my prayers! Lord what an awful situation! Please keep us apprised!

Okay everyone- I do hope you all have as good of a day as you can and that the migraine monster stays away! I am off to try laying down my head (again)- perhaps a couple Vicodin may help? If this remains the same tomorrow I will try the DHe but usually it just makes me feel sort of sick the next couple of days.

Be blessed!
Dawn

Good Morning everyone-
I got to sleep in this morning-didn't have to be at work until 8! Talk about nice. However, I got caught in the school traffic-talk about a mess!

Right in the middle of the traffic, my truck dies. This is the second time it's done it-something about the electronic throttle control, I don't know, but it's going to the shop NOW.

I hope today will be an easy day. At least there are no patients-except those that were in the parking lot when I got here. I don't think they were real happy when I told them I didn't have a doc at all, but that's what you get for just showing up.

My shoulder is much better. I think today will be the last day I have to wear the sling. I've been doing my best to rest it and use my left hand, but I can't do anything left handed, so it's been tough.

Dawn-I so hope you get feeling better soon. Group Hug

Gail-I hope you and Barry both get feeling better soon. I hope he can find another job quickly. Working somewhere you dont' want to be is never fun.

Hope everyone has a super day and great start to the weekened!
Lynn

Hey guys,

Well so far we are doing well. We are all praying that the school shooting threats are just idle and someone searching for attention.(If you missed this info, I posted it in last nights tea room) We have extra police patrol around all the schools and we are all taking every precaution that we can. None of the school are in lock down and things seem ok, but we are only halfway through the day....

That is terrifying, I just don't know what is wrong with people! Although we think it should just be an idle threat, we still have to protect the kids just in case. I will let you know, how it goes today.

I do have a terrible migraine today, but its friday so i just have a couple hours to go.

Dawn- thanks and I hope you are able to get a break soon. You need some relief!

Gail- good to see you in here! hugs to you tho, do feel better dear

Lynn- glad to hear your shoulder is doing better. I hope you are able to have an easy day today! And guess what, its friday! Wink

Dutchess- yay! so glad to hear you are feeling well! its about time.

I still need to run home while I am on my lunch break, so I am running out of time. I hope you all have a great friday! and I will stop back in later! Flower

Hi everyone,

I'm back after a few days out of town. We went to the beach with DH's family--all in one house. It was a fun time, but stressful for me! I told myself before we left that I was going to be as calm, kind, and helpful as possible with all of the family. I think I succeeded pretty well. It's just hard for me to have so many family members in one place for so long! I lost 2 days to migraine--maybe because of the craziness and stress of the situation? (I know stress alone isn't a trigger, but it sure does contribute for me!)

The boys missed some school work, so we have some catching up to do. They'll be Ok, though. They're good kids.

Alaura, you and your school will be in my prayers today!

Dutchess, I sure hope your gripes aren't too serious! Glad to hear you're pain free today.

Lynn, I was glad to see that your DS passed his test! I sure hope nothing serious is wrong with your truck.

Gail, get rid of that flu quickly! A hot bath or shower can do wonders.

Dawn, please take care of yourself! Your head shouldn't be that bad for that long...

I've got a lot of wet, sandy beach clothes to wash and some suitcases to unpack. Have a happy day guys! Be well.

Hey, Y'all,

(Just so y'all know: "y'all" is the plural of "you." "all y'all" means "everybody, and I mean, everybody, right now!")

This will be quick, as I'm rolling down the mountain into the Migraine Pit very quickly. Drove about 100 mi. running errands in the unairconditioned car yesterday, and am paying for it today. Have the car to drive again today. DH and I are going to a family reunion this weekend. DD3 will have the car to pet-sit for us.

Glad so many have visited the Tea Room today.

Alaura, I'm praying hard for your kids, ALL your kids today (not just the ones you bore!) No wonder you are hurting!

Gail, Fingers Crossed for all us jobseekers. Wish we were closer, so my girls could watch over your children while you and Barry and I jobhunt.

Dawn, I understand not letting yourself take a break until a day off. Hang in there! I miss both my folks terribly.

Jenny, time at the beach, and a migraine? Been there, done that. My sister's beach house has a washer and dryer, so we can at least come home with clean clothes & linens, for the most part.

Lynn, glad it's a quiet day for you.

Dutchess, what CAN we say about you?! I'm so happy for you! Fingers Crossed that this keeps going all day. A few little grips and gripes we can tolerate.

Oh, I've found a great "spell checker," BTW: I open another tab, or window, or whatever, and Google the word I'm not sure about. I may be a computer illiterate, but at least I can look like a good speller.

Work was "fun" last night. There is always tension between the day and night crew for some reason. Well yesterday the day super decided the night crew was not pulling our weight in cleaning and also that we were pigging up the fridge- claimed all the food was ours. We don't even use the bloody thing- the day crew has the thing so full and there is rotten food in it- its disgusting. So I got a bee in my bonnet and threw out every bit of food, we defrosted and cleaned the fridge and freezer and cleaned the storage cabine- which I repaired before we cleaned- and microwave, even washed the disgusting walls where the food splashed and was not cleaned up and we swept up all the mouse poop. The disgusting floor needs a shampoo but its much better than it was. Today I am sure there will be heck to pay for the tossing of the food. Oh well ;-> Yes sometimes I do wear horns! Don't mess with a menopausal woman on a 21 day migraine LOL!

I did fall into an exhausted sleep about 6 am. Up at 9 so 3 hours- not too bad actually! My eyes are so puffy LOL. I need that Garnier eye roller!

Gail- your pup must be so adorable! My daughter would love to have a Puggle. I love my Border Collie mix and my shepherd. Can't blame em! I sure hope you feel better soon! Its great the DD is feeling better!

Lynn - I am so glad your shoulder is doing better! Yay! So sorry to hear about the truck. We just had ours die in traffic then restart itself a few seconds later! Guess it was the fuel pump. How rude! How inconvenient LOL!

Dutchess- I am so glad you are feeling better! I'll weather the storm. I get a bit sorry for myself sometimes but I usually come round. Actually I think I am better than I was already!

Alaura - I sure hope the day completes without incidence. Argh what a situation. I can sure see why you would be terrified- all those kids- this world they are growing up in is so savage at times!

Jenny- I hope the out of town break was enjoyable and restful with the exception of the migraine. Wouldn't it be lovely to be wahing the sand out my my clothes right now? Sigh. No vaca for us this year- unless you count going to Mayo LOL!

Hope everyone has a good day and the migraine monster stays or goes away!

Be blessed-
Dawn

Hi guys -

Another day in the adventures of life with Migraine and chronic illness! First few days on the nortriptylene I slept so well - now I seem to be waking up over and over and sleeping really shallowly. I'm dreaming a lot so I guess I'm getting the REM sleep but I read that fibro is characterized by lack of stage 4 deep sleep - I don't really remember which that is - need to read more - but I think it's going missing for me. Anyway, droopy, sleepy, hard to concentrate, and my head gets a little hurty by the end of the day. To add to the fun the nortriptylene is constipating me. Oh joy. Time to break out the prunes.

It's a nice cool autumn day, anyway, and I don't have to go to the store, so that's a blessing. I want to take a walk in the nice weather. Just need to pace myself, get rest I need, and get through my projects. Wish me luck!

Jenny I think the jury is out on the stress issue - we produce stress hormones when we're stressed and we all know how fluctuations in hormones can trigger us migraineurs - I've spoken to several docs who think the flooding of our systems with stress hormones could well be a trigger. Anyway, staying in a vacation home with a lot of people probably also involved noise & overstimulation, changes in routine, hard to get peace & quiet... The 3 years my extended family tried renting beach houses together (all when our kids were quite small) we ended up really resentful of each other! We stopped trying that!

Alaura I am praying that whoever wrote those horrible things got it out of their system that way and goes no further, and that they are discovered so they can get some help - it's so scary! Hope you get through the day with no incidents.

Gail I hope you're cuddled up with some warm blankets and lots of fluid and resting!!!

Dawn good for you on the cleaning frenzy! I can relate. Hope you get some more sleep.

Lynn I hope you get that easy day today!

Dutchess hooray for a pain-free day!

Rebecca you do sound like a good speller and a great writer, as ever. Hope your head goes easy on you.

Well I need to get some lunch, then write a newsletter, catch up my health insurance filing, work on an article, nap, Zzzz'z etc...

- Megs

Happy Friday, all!

I've been a little MIA this week. I just got back into town last night from New Mexico. We had a board meeting this week there. The meeting and arrangements went well. My boss was very pleased. I'm just exhausted.

I leave this evening to drive to Oklahoma City to see my son. I'm so happy. Luckily, I won't be driving. My friend is doing the driving. We are staying at her mom's house which is about 30 minutes away from DS's college.

Megs, I noticed that you are on nortriptylene. My neuro doctor had me on those then changed me to protriptylene. It's suppose to be similar. It usually helps me to fall asleep. I do have restless nights sometimes.

At the moment, my head is not feeling well at all. I think flying may be a trigger for me. I'm thinking about seeing if I can leave work early today. I didn't get home last night until 7:30. If figure, I have enough overtime from this week (7 1/2 hours) that a couple of hours early shouldn't hurt.

Well, I'm going to get off now so I can finish eating my lunch. I'm thinking about all of you. Have a good rest of the day. Love ya!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday was el-crappo for me. My head screamed all day and I could not take any Vicoprofen.

Last night, I woke up at like 10 something. I was having a dream of some sort about being dizzy and spinning around while laying down. This woke me up. I went to get out of bed and I just was so dizzy! DH tried to help and in my true "Eileen was woke up and did not want to be" form, I was a snotty brat to him. At least, that is how I remember it going down. I finally got up and was ok once I figured out where I was! It was interesting.

Tonight I am having coffee with a friend I used to work with. I have not seen her for over a year now and she just contacted me about her Migraines. She never said she had them before, but I guess they are bad now. I gave her some info and she already has an appointment w/ my specialist.

Heather - have a fun trip!

Megs - it is really nice and sunny and fall-like now, but wait till tomorrow! Rain

Dawn - girl! You are really worrying me! Please get to your doctor or an ER or something! I'm sure you would rather be a few bucks short for bills than in the hospital from a migrainous stroke. Please be careful! Group Hug Heart Fingers Crossed

Just a quick note. I am very sad. A good friend passed away last night from cancer. It is well and good (and honest) to say I am glad he did not have to suffer very long....but it is an emptier world without him in it.

Be blessed-

thanks to all of you for the prayers. we did get through the day without any trouble. Thank goodness. We are still trying to figure out the source of this all, so it can be handled. I remembered that last year we actually did have a school stabbing, and its all just seems to be getting worse i guess. so sad. We are a little more relieved at this point but stil have to be careful, so thanks again.

My head is bad today it has been for a couple days now. I would love to catch up with ouy all, but I am at the point of crashing and headed to bed soon. I wll for sure be in there over the weekemd to check in. Group Hug hugs to you all and happy friday! do enjoy the weekend

Dawn - so sorry to hear about your friend! Group Hug

Alaura so glad there was no trouble!

I'm taking another break. My last break was a nap. Hard to stay focused today. head hurts just a little, but brain is very slow. I got my newsletter done & some other work.

Looking forward to the new Law & Order tonight! yes I admit I'm a Law & Order junkie - my kids always ask me if the law is really like that, but I never practiced criminal law, so I don't know. It's nowhere near that exciting, most of the time! Did any of you see the House season premier earlier this week? I thought it was fantastic but missed the first 15 minutes so I want to watch it again - of course since Rach is gone, it wasn't DVR'd since my boys don't care about it like Rach & I do, and I never remember to record anything on my own.

Heather glad to see you back. My head often goes ballistic when I fly - doesn't like those altitude changes! How nice you get to see DS. We see Rach in 3 weeks - can't wait!

Eileen that dizzy incident is really weird. I've had some like that - who needs mind altering drugs when they have mind altering minds, like we do? Never a dull moment, huh?

Okay, Megan, back to work!
