Wow - noon and I'm the first one in!

We have extremely cold weather here in NJ right now. Yesterday was aweful, and today promises to follow suit.

My lower back still aches from the LP two months ago, along with my shoulder. Man, I hate getting old! The cold makes every old injury hurt more! Roll Eyes

Today I am making some chili in the crock pot while DH watches the game.

That is pretty much it. Not much to say.....I'm too cold to type!

Hope you all have a good rest of the weekend!

Not much going on here, either.

We're going up to church later for a pork sausage supper; it was hard to sit through the service with all the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen.

No baseball to watch, Frowner. And the Rams lick lollipops.

Eileen, we're on the way to the second coldest fall on record here. I can't believe what kind of weather we've had since July, really unseasonable.

Cold, wet and gray here in Virginia. Redskins lost -again- (sigh) and the only productive thing thing I've done all day was grade a stack of tests. I have 80 pages of edits I OUGHT to be doing and no desire to face them.

Yeah, Deb,
13 days until Halloween, & I haven't bought the first treat! I'm trying to behave with my eating habits, so sweet stuff is banned from the house.

We're also having colder than normal weather. Our natural gas-fired heater's flue is in pieces, so we've piled blankets & comforters on the beds. I'll put a blanket over the old dog tonight, & hope our "Heater man" (former neighbor) can come tomorrow. DH left a message for him Fri.

Middle DD called earlier today. Her stable manager job is literally driving her nuts. One boarder was in a snit because her horse wasn't blanketed. The woman was arguing (via text messaging) about a 1 degree temperature difference. This was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I may end up making a trip to NC this week. There are times in a mama's life when her daughters, no matter their ages, just need her. If nothing else, I can muck stalls for her.

Supper at my sister's in about an hour and a half. Will be a good break for me. I missed co-hosting her Women in Medicine meeting Thurs. - absolutely vicious migraine attack. At least I got her one bathroom door's curtain hemmed for her.

Which brings up something humorous. I am about the most adomestic woman y'all will ever know. I don't do needlework. I'd rather muck a stall than make my bed. I'd rather clean out the kennel than do the dishes (and, I have a dishwasher.) BUT, I cranked up my Singer Featherweight sewing machine this past Tues., and had a ball.

For me, running that machine, which just sews forward and back, is very relaxing. It is low-tech, analog, older than I am. Hearing its motor purr and watching the needle go up and down blisses me out. Then, when I'm finished, everything disappears back into the case, like magic.

Life can be good.

Rebecca--

I can really relate to the horse blanketing issue. You wouldn't believe how picky some horse owners are, certain blankets for specific temperatures and they want you to change them out depending. I sometimes think we're boarding barbie dolls. And in Texas where it really doesn't get that cold it can really be ridiculous.

Just a quick check-in. I'm having a really rough time of it. The Celexa was a no-go due to intolerable side effects. At least I found that out quickly. Thumbs Down

I'm Migrainey today, and my mood is down the toilet. Trying to motivate myself to do anything around the house has been really difficult, especially after being extra sick all week.

Hope all are AWAP.
