Well, I'm down for the count. Head pain galore. But, I thought I'd start the thread and see all of the happiness that will emanate from everyone feeling better from yesterday's beasties!

Happy Wednesday, all!

Hi all -

I hope I can be one of those that Jamie is referring to, with the better than yesterday head-thing happening. I'm a little tired. Our new deal is - Danny gets up 6:15 and gets the kids up, makes them breakfast, then I get up at 6:50, throw on sweat pants and have some breakfast so I'm ready to jump in the car and be the back-up bus. So far, so good - they caught the bus and Danny was way less stressed so there was no yelling - but yours truly has to get off the internet and off to bed by 11 - didn't do that! So I'm sleepy. But my head does feel better than yesterday. Fingers Crossed

Val I'm glad you're well, and Jamie you take care sweetheart - knock that beastie back!

It's another gorgeous day here. Taking the dog & the husband for a walk in a little bit. Then hope the pooter guy calls me back bright & early to fix my laptop. (Currently typing from the scuzzy desktop that Adam uses in the family room).

Kat I missed you there. So sorry it's take your beastie to work day. They should schedule that much less often, huh? Feel better!

Good Morning,

Sorry for everyone that's not feeling well today. I hope you are able to get some relief.

I was actually able to make it through yesterday. Plus, I went to a Pampered Chef party after work. It was nice to be able to socialize with people. I'm a little tired this morning. I didn't sleep well last night.

I'm hoping that the injections from Monday will keep the migraines away for at least another day. I still keep getting the tingling in my hands, though. That is usually a sign that a migraine is coming on.

Hope everyone has a good day today. Time for me to get to work.

Good Morning,
Jamie and Kat I'm sorry the beast is with you today. Heather how nice to get out. I'm awful at those parties wanting to buy things. Hope you got out with minimal damage.

I've "felt" like I've been going to get a migraine. Weird scalp feeling. But no phantom smoke smell that was the big clue last week. If that appears so to speak, Imitrex will be warrented I believe. Not that I knew that than.....

Got to get moving. Take care everyone.

Hi all!

Yep, I got another TTH in the making. Head feels like it's being squished in a vice! Not fun! Skelaxin is not working, which means I will probably end up with another migraine today.

I am super stressed out in my professional life right now. I think the only reason that I don't totally freak is because I check in here throughout the day and my home life is in check.

Anyway - hope all my eastcoasters and everyone else is doing better today! There were a lot of us hit yesterday!!!!! Hope that is not the same today!!!

Hugs to all! Group Hug

Woke up with a killer migraine. It's probably about an 8. I took a relpax. That will make 3 in the last 5 days. Not good! But what's one to do?

I wanted to do some writing, laundry, and errands today but I'm not sure that will happen now. We'll have to see how it goes. I didn't get much restful sleep because I could feel this coming on during the night. I am so tired so even if the beast gets better I'm not sure I'll get much done today.

I see everyone else is struggling this morning too. I hope everyone finds some relief. Take care.

Good Morning All--

Uh Oh it sounds a bit like a repeat of yesterday. I had a 3 headache start around 9 last night. Thought maybe I could sleep it off. But woke up at 1 and at 3am with it still, so at 3 used Zomig. Kicked it so am fine this morning. Darn though, that's 2 Zomigs this week. I start a 5 days stretch at work today and I like to save Zomig for aborting during workdays if I need to when I have strings of days like that cause I, like everybody else, HATE to work with a headache. It always gets worse that way.

Megs--I have an advantage in computer service when things go wrong. We only own Dell computers and I can pick up my phone and call my youngest son and say "I'm calling for my own personal Dell Gold Tech Support Person" and he proceeds to help me fix it over the phone or comes over and does it for me if it's something really bad (like when we had to wipe the hard drive and reinstall last summer). He also does the same thing for several of our friends even though he got laid off by Dell about 6 months ago. Everybody pays him when he helps them now except me. We already helped them out big time financially so he helps us for free.

Here's hoping all of you with the monster get him off your backs or at least in the closet for a while today.

Hi everyone,

You all sound like you could use a Group Hug!

It's a beautiful sunny day here--I definitely need my sun glasses! For now, my son is still having fun in our game room. We built a huge blanket tent with lots of cool tunnels. Right now, it's his clubhouse. Earlier, it was a subway system. I wish I had his imagination... Smiler

I called the doc yesterday--my head is still thud-thudding and it's been far, far too long. I was really hoping the mig would break here at home, but it seems like I'll probably have to go for some inpatient care. The doc will get back to me today.

Thinking of you today! Please take care of yourselves! Group Hug

Heartjenny

ps--MJ, Group Hug. I read your note from yesterday...I sure hope your doc has some info to you today. The "topa tingles" would've been such a nice, easy explanation....Too much to hope for, huh??? Wink

Tired here this morning - went to sleep ok but woke at 5 a.m. and just dozed after that. Ironic since the sleep doctor released me yesterday!

Anyone watching American Idol? David Cook is just blowing me away and his song last night brought tears to my eyes and gave me goose bumps! It was Andrew Lloyd Webber night last night and DC sang "Music Of The Night" from "Phantom of the Opera." Now, first off, you need to know the movie version of Phantom is my most favorite movie ever, I can sing the whole thing. And for DC to sing one of the best songs from it - words escape me.

I want him to win, but some Idol winners have not been successful. He could do better on his own, ala Chris Daughtry.

I have a kitchen full of dishes, but that's the only thing....oh, no, I have to do a load of dark clothes.

I'm sorry so many aren't feeling well today. Here's hoping you all do better. Group Hug

Morning!

Or afternoon, if you're on the East Coast or Parts Unknown!

I slept in a little this morning -- took forever to get to sleep last night -- and forgot the dog's beauty parlor appt. I'll reschedule for next week. But he sure does look awful. May bathe him myself. He hates it.

Here's a theory about why we all seem to be fighting off Beasties together. 30 years ago (I hate to admit it!), in college, I read about a study they'd done about roommates and menstrual cycles. It reported that it looked like if you roomed with a girl long enough, your cycles would coordinate. No explanation, of course. But that happened with my college roommate and me. We'd lived in the same dorm our freshman year, been roommates in the sorority house for a couple of semesters, and lived in the sorority house together for 2 years, then shared a room in an apartment our senior year. By the time we graduated, we were having our periods at about the same time. Neither of us was on The Pill or anything, so it was all natural. Weird, huh?

Anyway, what if our Beasties are sending secret messages through cyberspace, telling us to suffer at the same time. Sounds like that would be a good thesis or dissertation topic! They could start here!

Tracie -- I'm growing my own computer service, too! DS is studying Information Technology. He's on a 5 or 6 or maybe 7 year college plan. He wandered around community college for a couple of years before he found IT and took off. He's not ready to do it for money yet, but he's a comfort to have around. If he's off at school or perplexed, I've got the guy who set up DH's office system and our wireless network at home.

Jenny -- I hope you can stay out of the hospital.

Megs -- Botox helps a lot, especially with the muscle spasm triggers, but I usually feel pretty bad the day of and the day after. All that poison and muscle trauma, I guess.

Leeloo -- OH, the joys of home ownership! A couple of years ago, we had to replace the A/C-heater, roof, and siding, all in the same summer. Really couldn't complain, though. The house was 22 years old (we bought it new), and we hadn't had to replace any of it. Had been saving for everything but the siding. I still need new carpet, need to get the tile floor in the kitchen repaired, and install the new solid-surface countertops I've picked out. I think I've found a finish carpenter to do the countertops. I want to put in a bar in the countertop between the kitchen and the dining room.

My colonoscopy (can't they find a shorter word for it!) and EGD are tomorrow, so I'm on clear liquids today. I'm hoping I can keep my blood sugar somewhat level. I do the purge thing this afternoon, after my haircut. I'm looking forward to the great sleep tomorrow.

Then Friday I'm going to Kosciusko, MS (Oprah's tiny hometown!) to judge a small guild quilt show with my mom. She's the expert -- a prize winner and very prolific. I've been quilting for about 10 years, but I start more than I finish and talk and study much more than I start. I think they invited me because we're a mother/daughter team, and a convenient way to get two judges. We don't have to judge technique, just overall appeal. Find the prettiest quilt. Easier said than done! It's about an hour and a half drive, and it'll be nice to have the quality time with my mom. She's only four miles away, but we don't keep in nearly as close touch as she should. We should be able to dish some real dirt.

I'm writing here what I should write in my journal. Thanks for listening. Have a pain-free (or less painful!) day!

Mornin yall!
Aww Im ss so many have migraines today! Im having my usual daily pain, though so far its not too bad today! Fingers Crossed

Jenny, The things you post about your kids remind me SO much of what goes on at my house! the paper airplanes down the stairs, the entire living and dining room made into tunnels and forts.. LOL my boys just love doing that! I got some pics just a couple months ago of just that.. every blanket, chair and piece of furnature all set up. Then they got allll of their stuffed animals, made bunkers and had a "stuffed animal war" Tee hee. I will get my nice furniture and pretty knick knacks when the kids are ALL grown. Thank goodness I dont have many breakables!

Debs,
I LOVE both the Daves. I dont have tv hooked up because we so rarely watch it, but I have mostly kept up with this years Idol online.

Phantom of the Opera is one of our FAVORITE musicals. We have the soundtrack that we listen to all the time in the car, all my kids know all the words LOL. My oldest plays several of the phantom songs on the Piano. and we have the movie of course! Another huge favorite in our family is Cats. I saw the broadway show years ago when it came to town of both Cats and Phantom.

We have a very musical family. all 4 boys take or have taken piano. Justin took 7 years of it, and is now into the Choir thing. He plans to go into the Navy next year, then become a music teacher. Chris took 4 years, and now does clarinet for the last 3 years. Matthew is on his 4th year and TJ is on his 2nd year of piano. My husband is a very accomplished pianist. He played for a semi-professional choir for 14 years, and occasionally is hired to play for churches, a wedding or a christmas party here and there. He really could make a living as a pianist for hire, if he had more time.

Anyway, I hope yall have a great day!

Good morning, girl friends!

Another gorgeous day, bright sunshine, high in the 70's. I have to go out today for my weekly shrink appt (I had to cancel last week due to beastie). She's really good, I've been seeing her for about 10 years and she's really helped me through some major stuff. Plus I haven't had an episode of clinical depression in all that time.

What else? My brother is looking for a new job. He's down in Jacksonville Florida. He's a computer programmer, which is a great business. He just put his resume up online and already has four good opportunities. Someone here mentioned about their son studying IT after drifting around community college. That's EXACTLY what my brother did! So funny.

DH's mom is having knee surgery next month, the arthroscopic thing. She's 82 and doesn't want to give up playing golf!

Happy healthy day everyone!!

LauraSue.
(I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)
