EekerMust be a slow going morning if Sol and I are the first ones posting today. We hope that this means everyone is out there enjoyng pain free days. Fingers Crossed

We are battling some form of the stomach flu. AGAIN. I don't mind it so much, well OK, its not fun to have what Sol calls the "tummy ickies" but I know its much harder on my Sol.

Her fever yesterday was high enough that they chose NOT to do her kidney treatment so she is off her schedule which throws things all askew. (Is that a word? Askew?) Sol says it sounds like the lil village in Norway where she is from. Yes So in HER mind yes it is a word. Laughs.

Usually her treatment is what we call early bird because its 5am-830am 4 days a week (it recently got bumped up to 4 days but if all goes well she'll be back down to 3 in a few months). But since its askew due to the flu she is going to try to get her treatment this afternoon.

UGH. I am so babbling. That is usually Sol's department. *ducks as she swats at me* Eeker

I am so blessed that I have a job that allows me to work from home if I need too. I just got a promotion which was a huge surprise since we were worried I was working from home TOO often due to Sol's health needs. So that felt great and we sure could use the small raise that comes with it. Thumbs Up

Today other than getting my Lady to her treatment we are hanging low and taking it easy. She woke with a horrible migraine but I was able to give her injection so now she is sitting next to me not pain free but as close as its gonna get. Maybe we will watch a movie and curl up for awhile before I force her to nap (yeah I know I make a MEAN nurse).

We miss you all and hope to post more in the future. You are ALL always in our prayers.

If anyone sees my man TIM give that guy a hug for me. We think of him and his wife all the time and I feel a bond with the man. Good man!!!

Peace and health,

Dave and His Beloved Sollie Heart

Hi Dave - and good afternoon everyone! (You west coasters can still get on in the morning if you hurry!) I'm here with my after-lunch coffee (2/3 decaf, 1/3 caf) instead of tea.

Dave you made me giggle:
quote:
askew. (Is that a word? Askew?) Sol says it sounds like the lil village in Norway where she is from.
Sure it's a word.

I'm sorry you guys have the flu but glad it hasn't affected your sense of humor!
quote:
its askew due to the flu
Anyway, big Group Hug to you both. Hope the med stuff is back on track soon and Dave congrats on the promotion!

I got up and spent 2 1/2 hours straightening this morning - and my blessed housekeeper who I really can't afford can now get the dust bunnies, kittens, puppies & etc out from under the furniture and off the surfaces - there was just too much junk out for her to cope with. So I didn't start working until after 11 - felt like I was starting off behind, but I will be a very happy woman tonight when I look at my clean house (and breathe my less dusty air!).

I sent my wonderful congressman the AHDA letter this morning - he's already a co-sponsor of the Mental Health parity act, so I think he'll get behind AHDA as well, if he isn't already. Sent it on to family members too. Feels good to be doing that!

Well, not much else to report. Just consumed too many calories eating up Adam's doggy-bag leftovers from last night. Will go for a walk to burn a few of them off. While I concentrate on my head my waist gets bigger and bigger. All that "medicinal" chocolate doesn't help.

I hope everyone's feeling well!

- Megs

Hi everyone,

Okay, something must be wrong if I beat everyone else to the tea room LOL.

Dave and Sollie-So sorry you are dealing with the stomach flu Again!! And you make me laugh when Sollie said the word "Askew" sounds like a village in Norway. It does!!!LOL. Hope you both feel better soon and enjoy cuddling on the couch!!

Megs-You make me giggle that you "cleaned" for the cleaning lady. Something I would do. Enjoy your walk today and coming home to a sparkling clean house YAHOO!!

As for me, I'm going to Zach school and delivery Easter grams. That will be fun. Other then that laundry is still waiting for me and the laundry fairy has not shown up yet, so that is on my list today.

Have a great Thursday!!

Hi everyone!

I sure hope you're all out having fun!!

Dave and Sollie, it's nice to hear from you! I'll keep you both in my prayers--I sure hope that flu passes quickly!! Fingers Crossed

Megs, my sister-in-law got a cleaning lady as a birthday gift from her husband this year! At first she was disappointed--I think she wanted something more personal...But now, she's ABSOLUTELY thrilled! Amy (the cleaning lady) is wonderful and the BEST at cleaning floors, baths, etc. What a perfect birthday present!!

Dar, I sure hope you enjoy your day! If that laundry fairy shows up at your house, please tell her that I'm waiting for her too! Big Grin

It's a pretty day here. My younger son has been out riding his bike all day. My older one will be home from school soon. Then they'll both want to be outside! We've got karate tonight and a few quick errands.

I have been finding strange little holes in all of my pants this week. At first there was only one pair. But then I began to notice more and MORE pairs with these little holes!! They're all in the left side, near the back pockets. After a little bit of investigating, I finally realized that there is something sharp in my car seat that has been snagging them! I counted 8 pairs of pants that are ruined!!! Mad Oh well, I guess it gives me an excuse to go shopping for myself for a change...

Happy Thursday everyone!

Where IS everyone???? Is the site down or something? I guess today's theme is "too busy to post," which is good news -- you mean we actually have actual lives????

I still feel like road kill, but I'm aspiring to reach pond scum soon. Not much head pain but everything else hurts and the fibro fatigue is really bad again today. But I don't have to go out today so I can just rest up and hide from the beastie, successfully I hope.

Dave and Sol, great to see you post, sorry to hear about the stomach flu, that is really nasty on top of everything else, isn't it. And "Congratulations!!" on that promotion. Here's the party for you:

Birthday Cake Big Grin Group Hug Birthday Cake Yes Flower Birthday Cake

Megs, of course you can afford a housekeeper. In fact you can't afford not to have one!! You deserve it, hon.

Dar, sounds like you're feeling pretty good, that's great! That durn laundry fairy is so unreliable, isn't she?! Big Grin

Jenny, you snuck in there, that's too bad about your pants, but I'm glad you solved the mystery. I thought you were going to say mice!

Now would everyone else please post asap so we know you're okay???!!!

Good Afternoon Everybody--

I'm really late checking out the site today--guess I'm not the only one huh. I had a nasty problem with the shoulder yesterday. I've been using the computer on a table and apparently aggravating things. After I worked Tuesday and then did some accounting stuff on the computer Wednesday it got really bad and the hydrocodone wouldn't touch it. Ended up taking a dose of dilaudid (with doc approval) which finally broke the pain cycle. So now the laptop is in my lap.

Of course, naturally I figure the stress caused a migraine at around 5a.m. which I treated with my Zomig and Oxygen at 2 liters. Worked great but I stayed in bed a bit later since I didn't have anything else I had to do today.

I do have a laundry fairy but I feel really guilty letting her do my work. That's probably that's because it's my 79 year old mother who's been cooking and doing my laundry since my surgery. Seems like I should be taking care of her!

Sorry to hear about the stomach flu.

I also clean before my cleaning lady comes. I want her to do the cleaning, not try to figure out what to do with all my junk that's normally laying around!

Hope everybody has a nice day, what's left of it.

Tracie

Just peeping in after enjoying reading everyone's stories.

Haven't been around in awhile. I was enjoying my side effect free lifestyle. Did a lot of traveling inside & outside the country, purchased a new laptop (still do not know how to work the track-pad Head Banging ) & last but not least I adopted a kitten.

Oh, I forgot....... I am also nursing a broken finger. Frowner

So sorry to hear the stomach bug bit you both, Dave and Sollie. Askew indeed, with a side of wonky. Big hugs for you both. I hope you do get a chance to curl up and watch a movie. As for the nursing thing, you may feel free to practice your assertiveness on us any time. I'm sure most of us would appreciate being forced to nap now and again. Big Grin Take good care of yourselves, and get well soon.

Blech, this is a weird week. I am still on my blame-Daylight-Savings-Time-for-everything kick. So far it's working.

It's late (especially for you east coasters) but I'll give a full update anyway.

I mentioned this earlier in the week, but I had a dentist appointment first thing on Monday morning. It was just a regular 6-month cleaning. The migraine planets must have been in alignment or something because the visit triggered one of the worst migraines I've had in a while. It stuck around clear through last night, hovering dangerously around the 72-hour mark. I think that the combination of fluorescent lights and high-pitched dental instruments in my mouth just triggered a killer migraine - complete with severe pain, nausea, vertigo, upset stomach, chills, everything. All three days the beginning of this week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) I started out feeling passable enough to go to work, but by the end of the day felt like serious roadkill.

I'm doing moderately better today, but still have more migraine ick than I'd like. It helps that, since I'm flying back east tomorrow night, I'm taking two days of Frova to help prevent the plane-graine I'd get otherwise.

Work has been crazy busy this week. Lots of tasks piling up on my desk despite my efforts to delegate them to other people on my team. I will be happy to take Monday and Tuesday off even though a four-day trip to MA is rough on my body. It'll be good to see my family, however brief, and DBF will get the chance to see their house.

LauraSue, this made me giggle:
quote:
I still feel like road kill, but I'm aspiring to reach pond scum soon.

Such a great description.

Everyone else, I hope you start feeling better soon or keep on feeling well. I need to get off the laptop soon so I don't make my head feel any worse. Roll Eyes

Heart I'll wish everyone a happy Friday since we're almost there!
