Good Morning,

Couldn't sleep. So here I am. Dar congradulations to Zach. You must be so proud of him. Laura how is Paulie doing today? Is he milking the injury? My son would be?

I got the great news yesterday I get to have a crown. I thought I just had a bit of a rough spot on a back tooth. Well, no I'm missing about 20% of it. I go back Wednesday for 2 hours of fun and games. I've been putting away my Flexible Spending Account money when I get it back, thinking something like this might come up. Right now I'm glad I did. Insurance only pays 50%. Which is certainly better than nothing.

I had an idea when I was at the dentist yesterday. I remember MJ having problem with the light. And they are bright and intense. I think I'm going to take my eye pillow with me. I was fine with a 30 minute cleaning. But 2 hours of the light, shots, and drilling will be more than I can tolerate. The eye pillow will keep the light completely out and I think it will be out of their way. I might ask my daughter for her eye mask, it has the piece that goes around the head and is not as thick, but still, no light.

I'm heading into San Francisco. It will be nice, but cool. Want to get back in time for the UCLA/Memphis basketball game. We should be cultured out by than. Our feet ususally give out by about 2.

I hope today finds everyone doing better. It's been a tough week. Take care,
Cindy

Good morning all,

I'm really hoping these stinker menstrual migraines are about finished!
I'm looking forward to a relaxing day with DH and perhaps a good rescue med to get some relief. Frova stopped its magic.

Laura-Good luck with your guests and your son!

Cindy- Have fun in San Francisco! Oh that sounds so nice right now! Enjoy!

Kelly

Good morning, I just got finished with a nice batch of pancakes dh made for all of us. Yes, I'm not the only cook in the house.

Cleaning is on the agenda today - although not much since we cleaned so well the day before Easter. Thursday was my mom's birthday and we're going out for lunch tomorrow and then back here for cake.

I emailed a flyer to Washington University here to advertise for a tutor for Kath for chemistry. Cross your fingers! Fingers Crossed

The cat is doing well from his declawing surgery. He's not supposed to have litter till he heals, so we got a litter called Yesterday's News - newspaper made into litter. I think he's using it - I'm not finding any surprises around the house, but I also know he's not wild about it. I guess he'll use it when he's ready.

Laura, have fun with your guests; Cindy, have a nice trip.

Deb

Just a quick post to say they're doing work in the apt downstairs so I'm spending today in the front of the house away from the noise (good) but away from the computer (bad).

Have a good one.

Morning all. I haven't had much of a chance to say hi in the tea room this week. Work has been crazy and my head has been bad. Today it's just the pain but the nausea and dizziness hit with a vengeance Thursday night and yesterday. That's better today but the pain is there as always. Blech.

No big plans for the weekend - I need to get moving on my taxes. Most everything is in Quicken and I found my W-2, so I'm hoping to get it done this weekend. Other than that, I'm taking it easy.

Laura, enjoy your Saturday with your guests - hope your head holds out!

Cindy, that's a great idea about the eye mask. I may steal that next time I go to the dentist. I think I'll also just take some Imitrex before I go - the migraine I got from the dentist was one of the worst ones I've had in a while. Hope the beastie leaves you alone when you go!

Kelly, I'm hoping your menstrual migraines leave you alone soon - it sounds like you've had a long week. Thumbs Down

Deb, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you find a good tutor for Kath. One of my profs from college is at Wash U now but she's in the architecture dept so I don't think that will help you much.

LauraSue, hope the noise doesn't bug your head too much.

I'll be poking around the forum for a while so I may check back in here in a little while. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Heart

Hi, all!

Today is proving to be a bit nasty for my head. It's at the base of my skull, but it's 4 or 5. I've done my Imitrex and Anaprox double cocktail. I did the injection. I usually try to save them for 6s or 7s, but I had the urge to use the injection, so I did.

We had horrible weather yesterday. Straight-line winds up to 70 mph, several possible tornados, and hail. Everybody in my family is fine. My folks have a bit of roof damage, but the only real damage is at my BIL's golf course. He's Director of Golf, and he has several trees down. Sparky and I hunkered down in the hall. DH called, and I didn't answer, because I was hunkered down in the hall and didn't want to leave. He panicked a little and was glad when I called him to check in. I didn't lose power, but everybody else did. I had a medium-size nasty. Got to walk an hour in the morning, before it started to rain.

Laura -- enjoy your company
Cindy -- your eye pillow idea is great! I'll do that the next time I see mine.
Kelly -- Are you close to menopause? Have you tried taking Frova a couple of days before your period? I used to do that with bad weather, and it helped.
Deb -- Now I'm craving pancakes. Haven't had them in a long time. Good luck with Kath's tutor. I keep encouraging DS to get one for calculus, but he's pretty stubborn. He's got one picked out but hasn't met with him yet. Laura Sue -- I'm watching your Menopause Countdown -- congrats! MJ -- I just got through sending our numbers to our CPA for him to estimate whether we need to send $ to the IRS when we get our extension. I did that calculation last year, and it was horrible, so this year, Hal gets to do it. I've been using Quicken since 1989. It's my best friend.

Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

My head is starting to improve, so I decided to pop in for a visit! Smiler The kids and I still have the sniffles, but those won't last long.

Today, I helped the kids and DH with our Cub Scout Pack food drive. We got so much food that the kids had to squish on the floor of our minivan to fit in! Thank goodness it was only a couple of blocks to the donation site...

Laura, enjoy cooking and visiting with your guests! Smiler

Cindy, enjoy San Francisco! My MIL had to have a root canal the other day. She spent 4 hours in the dentist's chair and got a whopper of a headache...and she NEVER has a HA! Take the eye mask/pillow! That's a terrific idea!

Kelly's migraine, MOVE ON! She's had enough of you! Devil

Deb, pancakes are our favorites! Big Grin We especially like them when we do "breakfast for dinner night." The kids think it's loads of fun!

LauraSue, stay away from the noise! We'll be here when you get back to your computer. Smiler

MJ, taxes are terrible. I swear by TurboTax. Without it, I'd never remember all of the deductions! Feel better soon! Group Hug

Gretchen, I sure am glad you and your family are OK! My youngest son had a terrible nightmare about a tornado warning the other night...I think we've only had one tornado come close to our home in his entire lifetime! I guess it must've been really scary for him.

Happy weekend, everyone.

I'm baaacckkk! With a behaving brainbucket, no less!

Not a lot going on around here for the weekend, which is nice. I did run back to the oil change place this morning, with my dad in the car for "muscle". It's still randomly dripping on the driveway. Monday they said it was residual oil, since the guy in the bay didn't clean up well enough. Right. I told them they had a habit of breaking my oil plug gasket, which they claimed was fine. Hmm...today said gasket suddenly had a crack, probably from overtightening. Ya think?!? Roll Eyes Goobers!

Megs ~ Good luck with the crown. I have a tooth that broke off in college on a malted milk egg. Apparently, said tooth had hollowed itself out inside somehow. My old-school dentist sculpted me half a tooth out of amalgam. The next dentist said it would last a year if I was really lucky. That humongo filling actually ended up lasting me over thirteen years. Now it's a shiny gold crown, but I sure showed them!

Laura ~ Happy visiting with company!

Deb ~ Happy birthday to your mom, and talons crossed for Kath.

Laura Sue ~ Good luck with the noisemongers in the other apartment.

MJ ~ Glad you're doing better now, even if there is still pain. I've had a blechy, rough brainbucket week myself. Mine finally broke for good.

Gretchen ~ Hope the nasty beastie vacates soon. Blasted weather, huh?

afternoon yall!

Well I have had a busy but productive morning. Got some housework done, ran couple errands, then went to Blaines parents to help them out with some things.

Dar, CONGRATS!! You must be so proud! Glad Zack did so well!

Megs, I know what you mean by wanting to get more done than what actually gets done! Seems everyday is like that for me! Too many things to do not enough hours! I have long since given up trying to have a perfect clean house or what not. Sometimes ya just gotta set priorities. My main one is my 4 kids! Many times its all I can do just to keep up with getting them to and from wherever they need to be! Forget everything else! Ah well the joys of bein a mom!

Well the timer just went off my hams done and gotta check my taters!
Ta ta for now! Hi to all those I missed, and GET WELL to all those migraining or sick!

Hi gang -

Late in the day so I hope you still come see I was here! I got in about an hour ago from my course. Spent time helping Danny put away groceries and clean up the kitchen. Boy does that make me feel good, to be in an intensive course all day, drive 40 minutes home, and still have energy to help him. I have a mild HA threatening but I think it will go away when I eat - just has that feeling to it. Now I get to get out of the way while he cooks. Shish-ke-bab in the oven cause the grill needs cleaning before we can use it!

Today was much less intense and exhausting than last weekend's sessions and the really good news is no class tomorrow - actually I get a 2 1/2 week break till the last 2 days of the course. I'm going to sleep til like... 8:30 tomorrow! Zzzz'z Woohoo! Actually I'll sleep as long as I need to, just rarely sleep later than that anymore.

Cindy good luck at the dentist. Fingers Crossed I've got 3 crowns and those did spawn headaches - I wasn't so tuned in to triggers back then - the eye mask is a great idea. Danny needs a pretty deep filling, maybe a crown, and I'll suggest it to him, too!

Tawsha you sound good, and so do ham & taters.

Droolie I'm glad your brainbucket's better and you dealt with the goobers at the garage!

Jenny dear so nice to see you feeling a bit better. Flower

Gretchen that must have been scary with the weather yesterday! So glad you're okay!

LauraSue hope the banging is over by now. Good luck!

Deb I was craving pancakes, too! Danny used to do them every weekend but now he's getting up later than everybody else and I usually don't want to fuss.

Oh, my ke-babs are ready, got to go so the chef doesn't get upset! I'll catch the rest of you later.

Love, megs

Hi I'm back - full of chicken kabobs and lots of long funny stories from Adam, very sleepy now.

Laura I hope you're having fun with your guests.

Kelly I wish that beastie would leave you alone!

MJ sorry your head's not co-operating. I hope you're getting some good rest this weekend.

Danny wants to watch a movie he's recorded on the DVR - I regret that we have it downstairs cause I so want to be lying on my bed now. I'll go down and lie on the couch to keep him company. Have a good night all!

- Megs

Checking back in again. I'm feeling a little better than earlier. I took some Imitrex + ibuprofen, just one dose, and tied an icepack to my head for a couple hours. That helped the pain some, though I think I may be finding the icepack again soon. I realized I hadn't done so well in the food dept at the end of the week since my stomach had been feeling funky and my nausea had kicked into high gear. So I'm making an effort today. DBF is out buying some supplies for dinner - roast lemon chicken and potatoes with steamed broccoli. Nothing in it I can't eat, so it's an easy and safe dinner.

Next year I am NOT waiting this long to do my taxes. They're not complicated, I just haven't been keeping good track of my finances because I've been sick. If it wasn't for Quicken and online banking I would be completely sunk.

Gretchen, sorry to hear about your nasty weather. Glad you made it through ok.

Jenny, good to see you here! We've missed you. Hope the sniffles clear up soon.

Droolie, glad to see you back here too. I figured something was up since your scaly self was absent. Seemed like it was a bad week for a lot of us.

Tawsha, your ham and taters sound yummy! Sounds like you're doing well!

Megs, enjoy the movie with Danny. DBF and I have a movie from Netflix we'll probably watch tonight.

Hope all are well - I don't know where today went but I haven't really moved off the couch all day. Oh well.
