Good morning,

My migraine is gone and I'm left with a mere migraine hangover! Hooray for avoiding the ER. DH wanted me to go last night but I refused because I wouldn't be near the 72 hour mark until today so I just went to bed early and *poof* the migraine is gone Big Grin

No painting today, only running around to do some household errands. I may try to go to lunch with a girl I used to work with, I haven't seen her in forever and she called last week to check up on me. Hopefully, she's not swamped at work. I remember those days all to well.

Have a wonderful day everyone and I hope you're all pain free today!

Laura I'm glad you avoided the ER, but also it's so nice to hear how pro active your DH is. Most of us are so lucky to have such wonderful support with our husbands and boyfriends. They are gems without a doubt.

It is hot here. At 6 am it's almost 70. In my neck of the woods that is unheard of this early in the year. A week ago I was freezing.

My head hurts a bit this morning. Not sure if I should take something or not. It's been a stressful 24 hours. I took a couple of advil pm last night and an ice pack to bed and slept very well. I don't use much advil or anything like that for obvious reasons, but I knew sleep might be hard to come by last night.

I addition to losing Nala yesterday, of course the washer broke the night before!! I did not have to replace it. Fortunately Sears was able to come out yesterday and fix it. I haven't had the machine long. I made $1.35 on (we won't discuss how much parts and labor were) on the change in the pump catch thing that contributed to the pump dying. Boy does water go out ever so much better now. Funny how that works. I love being able to arrange repairs online and not have to talk to service people who ask silly questions.

Ok, on to work. I hope everyone has a pain free and stress free day.

Cindy

Good morning!

Laura, I'm glad your migraine is gone. Take it easy today.

Cindy, we posted at the same time so I didn't see your post until I entered mine. I'm so sorry to hear about Nala.

I'm so glad it's almost the weekend. I'm ready to sleep in without having to wake up to an alarm.

I'm feeling pretty good. I feel like I'm getting my life back. I don't know what to do with myself. I still find myself waiting for a migraine to hit.

I hope everyone has a good and pain-free day today.

Cindy- I'm so sorry about Nala. I know she was a valuable and loved member of the family, and will be greatly missed! It's so sad when a pet passes away- I'll be thinking of you and your kids the next few days.
I've had a bad migraine stretch these last few days, and had to take a Frova this morning- hope it works, the last one didn't- I'm out of my Relpax which works better for me, but this was better than nothing. I had to take my daughter to her last band concert of the year the other night, and couldn't stay in the room to listen-literally, I thought my head was going to explode each time a note was played!
I hope everyone is doing okay today- have a great day!

Valerie

Cindy - so sorry about Nala! I hope your head holds up today. Hang in there and take it very easy on yourself, 'kay?

Valerie - You take it very easy too! I hope the Frova helps!

Heather enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! What to do with yourself? What have you been putting off, that it will feel very satisfying to get done? What would be just plain fun? Celebrate feeling well! Thumbs Up

Laura so glad your migraine is gone! You take it easy, too. Lunch with a friend sounds great.

Well I got up into plenty of Mad Devil Head Banging today. Cleaning lady is here, which is great. Danny decided he & I were going to pick up Rachel's floor so it could be vacuumed. Even spoke to her about it and got her agreement that we could do that. But he had a meeting to get to by 10. Course, he didn't ask me if I felt like it, or was willing, or was up to it, he just announced this is what we were doing. RAchel's room hasn't been cleaned in I don't know how long. Hasn't been truly straightened in 5 times longer than that. But she is 17 and has rejected all help from us, resists all suggestions, says she'll "get to it," and I was inclined to let her stew in her own juices, at least til the end of the school year.

He just spent about an hour up there, I just spent 20 minutes up there, breathing scads of dust, finding all kinds of things that belong elsewhere in the house, finding dishes & food wrappers, totally overwhelmed by it all. Tee'd off by what I was finding, to tell the truth. Then I gave up. I know I could have just said no. What I hate is all the work we put in and all the mess that still remains. It doesn't solve the problem, especially it doesn't help her learn anything. And it was not on my agenda today!

All right, I've griped long enough. Should have put this in gripes, though it's not about migraine. Except, I suppose, maybe getting it off my chest helps me avoid one? I don't know. I'm feeling like now that I started I want to take a break and then go back to it. This is just getting everything off the floor, mind you. But there's so much dust - I know it's not good for me to be breathing it.

Well, wish me luck. I'm going to go do my meditation and see if I can create the kind of day I choose to have!

- Megs

Good Morning--

Well, I'm up early, coughing and wheezing as usual. I'm calling DrW. this morning. He said to call in 3 days if I wasn't a lot better and I'm better some but not 40mg Prednisone/day x 3days better!

Cindy--I'm so very sorry about Nala. I posted on the other thread to you regarding my feelings for you and your family.

Laura--I hope the lunch works out well. But stick to your plan and don't paint today, ok.

Heather--LUV your long streak!!!!! It's so good to have times when your life can get more back to normal. I'm looking forward to my appt with Dr. Krusz. I'm in pretty good control, but hope we can do better since I still have to treat at least once or twice a week and the headaches usually hang around in some form around 3 days. That's been my pattern for years and years--but one always has hope, right.

Valerie--I know just what you mean about band concerts and migraines. My youngest played in the band in high school, so I went to lots and lots of concerts, hoping and praying I could make it thru the cacaphony. They were a super band--but high school bands are loud. His school finally finished their new auditorium with good acoustics the year AFTER he graduated. At football games, I always went but left after halftime. His dad would stay for the whole game. The marching band won lots of district awards, so I spent a lot of time in the stands with earplugs in my pocket, a hat, and dark sunglasses!

Hope everybody has a good, headache, and otherwise unsickly day. I have made up my mind to put some major organization into my book notes today. I keep putting it off. I hate first drafts--they are worse than giving birth!

I'm also going to make an appt with a new neurologist for DH. He wouldn't agree that he needed to change from Dr.Ifiredhissorryself, until the pharmacist where we get our prescriptions was describing the trouble she was having getting him to help her get a prior authorization for high use imitrex for his clusters!!

We are home from the funeral.

Yesterday was a long and very difficult day. Up at 5 a.m. and home by 5:30 p.m. I honestly don't know if that was better than going down the night before and taking a chance on a bad hotel room bed.

I feel like I've been beat up - physically and emotionally. The physical part is just from driving for seven hours total and sitting in funky chairs (droolie!), but the emotional feels worse.

I can't explain in words how much I'm going to miss Aunt Dee. Sometimes I think I loved her more than my real mom. You could talk to her about anything and she wouldn't try to make it about herself. She listened! I felt I got closer to her after I had kids, she was so much better at understanding the joys and sorrows of being a mother. She raised a wonderful son who I love like a brother.

She was so sweet - everyone liked her. It was impossible not too.

The world lost an angel on earth Sunday. Now she's an angel in Heaven.

Morning all...

Sorry, not nearly as perky as I was yesterday. I had a lovely pain free day yesterday. I actually felt good. But alas, the beastie is back with a fury this morning. I'm hovering between 5-6 pain level. My vision is kinda blurry and I'm having quickie bouts of nausea.... and of course, I can't take an abortive. I took an Ultram ER about two hours ago, but it doesn't seem to be doing much good...

Almost Friday... Almost Friday....

I also have other stuff going on... maybe I'll get that into the gripes folder later... I'm just feeling pretty down today... Frowner

Laura- I'm so glad you were able to avoid the ER. Big Grin

Cindy: I'm so sorry for poor Nala. Group Hug Heart Group Hug And that your washer picked exactly the wrong week to break. I'm totally with you on doing things online. I hate dealing with people on the phone. Maybe it's all those years I was a customer service agent! Wink

Heather: What a great streak! I know we are all hoping it keeps going Fingers Crossed And we're all super jealous! Wink

Val: Good luck with the Frova. I hope it does the trick for you... Good Luck

Megan: Ah, the room of a teenage girl. I was guilty of it myself. Embarrassed I know the frustration though, because if you don't do it, it never gets done. But then she's getting off scott free for living in a pig sty. (I used to have the same thing when I was living w/ my sloppy ex BF) Hope your day gets better. Big Grin

Tracie: Good luck with the doctor. I hope you are feeling better soon! Big Grin

Hope everyone has a good day!

Val - hope you are feeling better soon! Go Frova Power!!!

Hey Megs, Instead of meditation - why don't you come meet up with me and get some ink done tonight?? Big Wink

Tracie - good luck talking w/ Dr.W!!!

Deb - glad you made it home safe.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!! It's my friday so I don't know what time I'll be on tomorrow. I'm getting my hair cut and meeting my MIL for lunch. Both DH and I took the day so it should be fun.

Hello all! I was just checking in on todays board (as a newcomer) and have been reading many posts the last few days. I have had many migraines go past 72 hours......nobody has ever said anything to me about it. I see that it is critical to get help for them? Even if they are not a scale 10? I usually only go to the ER if I am in excruitiating, unbearable pain, which is once or twice a month lately Mad This last migraine I had for 5 days straight!!! I am going to the headache clinic in Ann Arbor, MI. They called the other day, but need to find my record from back in 1992, which are stored at another facility, blah, blah, blah and will call me when they have to set up the appointment. Just more waiting!!!!! But anyway, I would like to hear more about these 72 hour PLUS migraines.

ALSO, am having a wonderful Thursday. Girls dance recitals starts tonight, so they are very excited! It is a sunny, yet STILL very COLD day in Michigan. It seems like summer will never get here!!! Have a great day!

kduch -

over 72 hours with a migraine is called "status migrainous" HERE is a link that explains more about it.

That means, a migraine that has lasted 72 hours with less then a 4 hour break in pain (not including when you are asleep) is at status, be it at a pain level of a 1 or a 10. Even a mild migraine can put you at risk.

Hope this helps.

I hate this weather.

Cindy, I'm so sorry about Nala.

Deb, glad you made it home okay.

Jamie's head- stop it right now. I don't have money to go buy a box of frova retail right now. (but I will if I have to)

Thank you for the information. I will bring this to my GP's attention immediately. I am soooo glad I found you guys Group Hug This board is so cool.

Jamie, I hope your head feels better. I am getting some ice pick headaches this morning. Just annoying stabbing pains in the left side of the head. At least its not a migraine! Thumbs Up

This board is very addicting, I should get my household chores done. I skipped out on work again today, just trying to catch up on feeling better. My husband is going to start noticing my paychecks are lacking.......But at least the house is clean! Razzer

Hi all - Well I got over my grumbles and I must say it's good to have that floor vacuumed. I literally threw all her mess in boxes, so she's got to sort it herself. Anyway, I'm cheerier now - thanks for putting up with me.

Eileen thanks for the invite - geez, I don't know, maybe I should wait and get a tatoo for my 50th b-day next year? Big Wink

kduch I know what you mean about the board being addicting - here I am again... though I did get some other stuff done in between. Glad you found out about status migrainous - that came as a surprise to me too, and no doctor had told me about it!

Jamie I hope your head gets better!

Kat I've certainly been an offender in the teen girl room mess dept myself too, but my daughter has me beat. She even has her father beat, and he's pretty messy! I hope you feel better soon!

Deb dear it's no surprise you're feeling knocked out. You've been through a lot. I feel for you! Take it easy on yourself, 'kay?

Tracie I hope you get better already - what kind of book are you working on?

Just had my book group here for 2 hours - we've been having trouble with evening meeting times so we tried afternoon - sat out on the deck in the nice weather - it felt very decadent. Now I'm trying to make myself get some work done!

See you later.

- Megs

No mig yesterday, thank heaven!

Had to do the full lockdown blackout eyeshade icepack dark room routine, but at least I broke the cycle after five days straight with migraines.
