Hi all -

Went to sleep with a migraine last night, seems to be mostly gone this morning. I've got laundry to do and some writing. We had some talk about going into Philly today but I think after yesterday's road trip I'm going to lay low. Had a nice visit with Mom & Dad but ended the day with a migraine. Two hour ride with a migraine is not fun, even though the Imitrex was working. I had to do deep breathing the whole time to keep nausea and head pain down.

Today we have to finish getting our tax stuff together. Great excitement, I know. If the rain clears up I'll take a walk. And I think I'm going to go make apple-pear sauce now. Yum.

I hope everyone feels well and enjoys the holiday.

- Megs

Ah- postdrome.
I feel like I'm about as smart as a box of bricks.

Megs, that pear sauce sounds divine! Good for you for getting your tax stuff together now. I'll be the one on April 14th using every word in the dictionary (and some not) in dealing with our taxes.

I'd pay someone for a day off today, but alas, I'm at work. Overslept, but at work. Have gone through tons of junk food for the sake of doing so. It didn't make me full, just sated. If that's waht it takes to get through today, so be it.

Was supposed to do so much this weekend, but of course, none of it got done. Alas.

Back to work, methinks

Day off for the kids and I cheated on my sleep routine - I slept till 8:30!

Kath already looks like she's moping around, bored to tears. What I don't get it she waits for other people to call her and suggest doing something, I don't ever hear of her calling anyone and making a suggestion. I know I'm going to hear, "what are we doing today?" any minute now.

Nikoli got some late birthday presents yesterday, spider man stuff, and he's thoroughly occupied and happy.

We'll see how long it takes Kath to start complaining.

Super tired today.

Didn't get done what I wanted to yesterday.

DH and I were out all day long. One of DH's friends is filming a movie and asked DH to be in it! So I went along to watch the process and get some "behind the scences" filming too. It's really cool. We will have it on YouTube at some point today or tomorrow...along with DH's band preformance from Friday night.

I can't believe I got through Friday with no beast! It was a close call, considering the loud music, but when the really, REALLY loud (and not so good, might I add) bands came on, I went in the hall and took a break.

That was about it. So needless to say, laundry did not get done yesterday, so I'll do it tonight. It was more fun hanging out with friends then doing laundry anyway! Big Grin

Hope you all are having a good day!!

And to you who have the day off - you are lucky ducks!!! Razzer

Mornin yall!

Well its proving to be a beautiful day again once the frost goes away! Sunny and might hit 60 like yesterday! WAHOO! Almost felt like spring!(dare I breath the word?) Kids have the day off, gonna have them organize their rooms and unpack a bit more, and a trip to the library is due as well.

We had a VERY productive weekend though! Got most of the shelves built in garage, to organize all our stuff, got a new(to us) table, sold the sofa which was taking up too much room in our new place, and got several things fixed around the new place that was driving us nuts!(ya I know its a rental and landlords supposed to, but they were taking too long to get here!)There is a few things we need done but we need to let them do it so we dont get in trouble.

Megs, glad your feeling a bit better! MMM your apple-pear sauce sounds good. Nothing like warm fresh batch of applesauce! With pears too sounds really yummy!

Jamie, SS you have had such a rough go of it lately Crying Hheres hoping you get them beasties under control Fingers Crossed

Debs, I had to chuckle as I read your post. Its only 8:30 here and some of my kids are just waking up(2 have been up 2 just gettin up)
But I know too that I am going to be hearing the "I'm Bored" really soon! Specially with all their board games not unpacked yet! HMM Guess I will tell them I have LOTS of things for them to do.. suddenly when I want them to help they find something to do! Big Wink

Well have a great day yall!

Sounds wicked cool, Eileen! When you do have the youtube up, you've got to point me in the direction of the video.

Deb- was doing some work on a young driver project and thought of you guys. Why is it that some kids are planners and others want their friends to come up with the ideas? I remember this from when I was Kath's age...

As for me, I'm more awake. Coffee and I are not best buds, but today's definitely an exception. I can feel it cutting through the brain fog.
Let's hear it for mocha lattes. It's put a dent in my mood- for the better. And a dent in my wallet- for the worse.

I'm just so happy that yesterday's migraine broke, I'm almost glad for the postdrome.

Hey! Tawsha, you snuck in here while I was typing.

Thanks for the anti-beastie good thoughts.

Hope you can get the kids to help unpack! Now that's a good thing to do! Perhaps let them unpack the boxes of their toys- it's helpful to you, and they may find something in there to interest them in the process! Fingers Crossed

Here's a Birthday Cake "Welcome to your new place" cake. And it's calorie free, and all that jazz, so eat on up!

DS, at college, doesn't have the day off. Instead, he has a big skills test in his Cisco class. He says he may not come home until Spring Break, which starts March 9, (I think).

TAXES!!! Ours are pretty complicated. We usually get an extension and get everything to our CPA sometime in September. We met with him last month to do some tax planning discussion. I'm the one who does all the work. But I've got to get my housekeeper's corrected W-2 to her, the Feds, and the state by the end of the month. Not a big deal, but an irritation. I did her first W-2 wrong. Calculated all the withholding taxes wrong. I think that next year I'll just fax everything to our CPA and let him do it.

Started wearing wrist splints at night and sometimes during the day. I have no pain, but occasionally some of my fingers get numb for a couple of minutes. I understand that's classic Carpal Tunnel.

The dog got me up to go out at 4:30, and I had a hard time getting back to sleep. At 5:30, I woke up with a #5, in the middle of my forehead. That's where my #8s start. So I found my Imitrex, Skelaxin, and Anaprox and took them. Took another Imitrex when I got up at 7.

It's much better. The forehead stuff is gone -- well enoough that Sparky walked me for half a block (he started limping, and I had to carry him home), and I walked myself for 30 minutes. But the cold gets into my neck, which gets into my scalp, so I've taken another round of Skelaxin and Anaprox. I feel good enough to be here!

Have a great day!

Woke up today and my migraine was gone. I wasn't supposed to take any relpax or frova for a month (doctor's orders to see how many migraines/headaches were rebound headaches) but by 6:00 last night I couldn't stand the pain anymore so I broke down and took a relpax. It took the edge off the pain so I could sleep. I feel pretty good today. Just the postdrome foggy feeling.

I laugh as I read a lot of you guys' posts. My kids are 22 and 24 (still at home Thumbs Down) but I remember the days when they were younger and "bored". They can't wait to be off from school but then complain the whole time. They're funny!

I will probably run out later and get my allergy shots and stop by the health food store which is near my allergist while I'm out. I need to get some B2, magnesium, and something else I can't remember right now.

I will probably list somethings on ebay that I didn't get done yesterday due to the beast.

My husband is still in Korea so things are quiet and lazy around my house. My boys pretty much come and go on their own and I occasionally see them as they pass by. I will probably read some today, as I do everyday.

Take care everyone.

No fear Teri (hoopsky) - all my DH's friends still live at home, or moved back home and they are around 25-27 so - you are in good company!

It's so exspensive anymore, it's hard to move out on your own! I count myself lucky!

At least ya got them around to mow the lawn, and maybe take out the garbage while DH is in Korea?????

Good Morning Everyone,

Megs-I know what you mean about driving with a migraine. DH and I went to a party on Saturday that took 2 hours to get there, I had him stop 3 times because I was so dizzy and nauseated. I am glad you are feeling better today Big Grin

Jamie-You make me laugh, Postrome does make me feel as smart as a box of bricks LOL.

Deb-Don't you just love birthday presents? Zach is busy upstairs building a 1000 piece lego set he recieved as an early birthday present. YAHOO!!

Eileen-How COOL your DH is a MOVIE STAR Cool Let's see what more fun?...Laundry or hanging out with friends hmmmm Big Grin I am glad you got to watch him play on Friday and the Beast stay away!! Total side note: What cranberry chews do you eat? Are you talking about the ones from oceanspray? My kidneys have been acting up. thanks

Tawsha-Sounds like you are getting thing pretty organized. I love decorating the kids rooms, I think that one of the fun parts of moving. Enjoy Big Grin

Gretchen-Hope you can keep the beast away. Preparing for taxes doesn't help. We meet with our CPA on Wednesday. I hear you....I do all the paperwork for our business and getting it all together is not my favorite thing. Take care of yourself today Group Hug

Hoopsky-I am glad your migraine is gone today. Sorry your head is foggy Group Hug Have a great day running errands.

The twins turned 19 this weekend and they had a great B-day. Now it is on to Zach birthday next week. He is planning a sleep over on Friday. We went to a great restaurant last night to celebrate the twins birthday. I had seafood pasta YUM!! I was so excited because they did not have any flourecsent lights, had soft music, and did not echo. Basically, it was migraine trigger free!!! My DH and I plan to go there again. It was pricey, but I will pay anything not to have triggers Big Grin

Everyone have a great Monday Big Grin

Um, I think it's natures something or another? It's a white bottle with a green top - that's all I remember. I've had the "store brand" before too, they all taste the same to me.

When it's the cranberry chewables, I don't really know if there is a difference. I get the cheap ones. I think they are 1000mgs.

I was right! I beat the "I'm bored" to the punch and asked Kath if she had a friend she could call and do something with ("Who do I look like? Nikoli?" Ok, smart alec.) So I asked, "Don't you ever ask anyone to do something?" and she said no. I told her that was probably why no one asks her, even when they make plans for a weekend right in front of her. She's skeptical, but I know that's it.

Whew! I was worried that all her friends gave up on her because we were stricter than her friends' parents seemed to be.
