I couldn't sleep last night. Up since like 3 Eeker

So I got to work at 7. Trying to make up time from yesterday.

But at least I'm nice and clean today!!!!

So super tired though. DH let his alarm ring till 6 so he left late, which of course tee'd me off because I want MY time in the a.m.

Oh well, what can you do. I'll go to sleep early tonight.

Oh, I don't know if I told you guys, but I'm learning guitar. It's been really fun. So far I just have 6 major chords down, but I like it and it's become my "thing" to do every night before bed. It sooths me and it's better then watching t.v.

Hope you all are having a great day!!!!!

Good morning Eileen,

Wow, nothing like an early rise and shine huh? My DH did the same thing with his alarm clock. I hate the snooze button! Just get out of bed already, geez. He still feels jet lagged from daylight savings I guess. Wink

Cool about learning guitar! I don't have any type of musical talent. I took piano lessons when I was a kid but that is about it. Gymnastics was my thing, I loved it.

Today, I plan on deep cleaning the dining room and living room - ugh and then washing the gray right out of my hair with a new highlighting kit. Wish me luck that I don't look like some mismatched uneven colored weirdo and that I look like I just walked out of some fancy dancy salon Smiler

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!

Hey Eileen, My son is learning guitar, he got an electric guitar for Christmas. I know it's pretty exciting. Good luck with it Thumbs Up

Didn't make it in yesterday to see how everyone was, I hope you all were well.

I had a long day yesterday and it seemed when things couldn't get any tougher, well just never ask out loud, "what else can go wrong?"
it seemed as though the day would never end!

Today, my niece is getting her tonsils out so I will be getting out to see her pretty soon. Scared to pieces she is, the poor thing!

Oh, on a good note, I sent my letter out last night to my Congressman! That felt good. Since I registered on the AHDA website, i received the email that it was "time to take action" it was an AWESOME feeling. Thank you Nancy Bonk!

Have agreat day All and may you all find a pain free moment. Heart

Hi gang -

I have to say I'm feeling rather down today. Good to see your smiling - um - posts! Slept poorly for the 3rd night in a row. Too darn many things I was worrying about. I wish I could have a worry-ectomy! I have felt pro-dromy for two days now - I guess the fact it hasn't moved beyond that is good, but I do wish it would go away! Devil

And of course I get up all groggy and try to get the kids up - Rachel was home sick yesterday but couldn't answer a straight question like "Are you well enough to go to school?", no she has to get mad at me for checking on her. Than Adam is up at the right time, not without yelling at me, then he eats, goes up to get dressed with more than a half hour to spare before bus time and 25 minutes later tells me he can't find clean socks. When he's going somewhere he WANTS to go he gets dressed in 2 minutes flat. Needless to say he missed the bus. Mad I just got back from school run # 1 and will probably be doing run # 2 soon as R says she's getting up and going in late. My house is a mess, I haven't felt energetic enough to clean it up, I'm having trouble concentrating at my work... Oyyy!

Droolie I hope you stop in on this thread - to let you know the funniest thing - last night at 2 or 3 after waking up wide awake and worrying, I fell asleep again dreaming that the big green dragon from your picture was sending comforting little puffs of flame to put me to sleep! Weird, huh? Thanks so much!

Eileen I think it's great you're learning guitar! Laura good luck with your gorgeous salon look! And Lori I hope your niece's surgery is easy - so good of you to be comforting her!

- Megs

Good morning everyone.

I'll start with last night. Nikoli was in a spring concert - beginning violins, advanced violins, first and second graders singing and then fourth grades singing.

Now, I've heard of this, but have never seen it - after the violins were done, about 1/4 of the audience got up and left! I guess since their kid was done they didn't think they had to stay and be polite and listen to the other performers. We listened to them...ok, because our kid was last, but still! Quite interesting.

I nailed my chicken soup! I think it is contest ready, but I want to make it one more time. I've been making it with brown rice, but I want to use white and wild rice. The name is going to be "Deb's roasted chicken soup with white and wild rice." I was on the food netwook site last night looking at soup recipes, and most start out with raw chicken - one even said, "skim the gray scum that accumulates on the top." Ewwww, that doesn't sound appetizing. Some recipes used the chicken they made the stock with, but I didn't see any using left over roasted chicken.

Other than that, it's another load of laundry today, sweeping up dog hair and trying to organize the mess on the hutch.

Eileen, we're all so glad you're clean!

Megs, loved your dream.

Deb

Good luck with the "deep clean" Laura!

Somehow I think the hair coloring will be more fun... Big Grin I hope it comes out good....you never know when Micheal will stop by.. Wink

Lori - I too got my electric guitar for Christmas! DH is a musical genius - so I'm hoping some of it will rub off on me. Good luck to your son! It's harder then I thought! I'd played trumpet, flute and piano, but never a string instrument, so this is new.

Megs - Hope you feel better and avoid the beast!

Hi guys!

Slow morning here. I'm still feeling pretty sick...sinus pain and really tired today (not migraine though! Smiler).

Eileen, congrats on the new water heater! Big Grin Did ya get one of those fancy tankless ones? DH and I replaced ours last year but couldn't use a tankless one (something about the way our basement is and the windows, etc. Confused). Remember to keep your receipts! You may be able to get a tax credit for it (we did this year).

Laura, that's JUST what we need in my house--deep cleaning! I think I'm gonna wait a bit til it feels more like spring and we can open the windows while doing the cleaning!

Lori, all the best to your niece! Do they still let you have lots of ice cream after you have your tonsils out?

Megs, Group Hug. You sure do need a good night's sleep! My kids are the same way about getting dressed and out the door. When they are going to visit a friend, they do it with lightning speed! When it's for school, it takes at least 20 minutes...

Hi Deb! You snuck in! Congratulations on the soup! It sounds wonderful! (I could use some today--feeling bleah.) Oh, I remember the parents walking out when I played the clarinet in our high school band. Sometimes the people were even quite rude about it (they'd let the 2nd group start and get up and walk out in the middle of the song!). I guess not everyone knows their manners...

My 5-year-old and I just finished making "the best paper airplane in the whole entire world." (At least he thinks so! Smiler) It's a really good flyer and he spent 2 hours decorating it. Doesn't take much to entertain him...All the expensive toys we have and he'd rather play for hours with a piece of paper and some crayons!

Feel well, everyone!

Jenny honey,
I hope you feel better!!!

We didn't go tankless because it would have been more plumbing involved and time. We already had 4 days without water - I couldn't wait any longer!

The plumbing would have to have been totally redone. I just wanted it over with. Although I really did want to go tankless, as far as on the electric and on the envoromental side of things.

Just saying hi again before I go out to lead my class. Got to keep the head quiet even while in the front of the room - a challenge!

Eileen I never even heard of tankless water heaters - I'm just glad you've got hot water - so hard to live without it!

Deb, funny thing, I was at Adam's band concert last night, too! Our schools have started putting "concert etiquette" on the program - including how to leave quietly if you have to and please stay for the whole show - but the people next to me not only left after the first piece, they did it while inviting a friend in the audience to dinner, in normal speaking speaking voices, while the next piece was getting started. Grr! These are the kids' "role models?" I think they need to get up at the beginning of the concert and give a little etiquette lecture. I'd clap for it!

Chicken soup is sounding fab! I have skimmed that grey scum in the past - but why not avoid it if you can?

- Megs

Good Morning All

I'm doing well this morning in the head but had a hard night with my shoulder. It was really sore when I got home last night (worked 3 to 10), and I woke up at 3am in misery and never got back to sleep. Had a dermatologist appt (the annual check out my freckles one), so took a pain pill and muscle relaxer when I got home + an ice pack and am finally comfortable.

Now I'm waiting for DH to get back from his neurologist. Hope he has some new med to slow the clusters down.

Hey Megs, if you find someone to do a worryectomy let me know. That's always what messes my sleep up. Why I think that worrying about things that happened 20 years ago is going to make ANY difference to anything at midnight I will never understand!!

Have a good day all. It's nice and sunny here, not much howling wind so far, kinda unusual for this time of year.

Blech, this is turning into another bad head week. I was feeling ok when I got up this morning, on time for the first time in weeks, but by the time I got to work the dizziness and nausea set in. Uck. The beastie has decided to check out the wrong side (left side) of my head so hopefully that doesn't develop into anything worse. I still am on my no-triptans thing since I have to take Frova tomorrow and Friday for my red-eye flight to MA on Friday night. I think the beastie has decided to throw a party in my head this week and invite all his friends since I can't take anything to discourage his beastly claws!! Rarrrrr Mad

I didn't sleep well last night, either. The Topamax is starting to make me weird and tingly at night. I'll see tonight if it was just a fluke or if it's going to stick around. I'm supposed to up my dosage next week but I may have to call my specialist and let her know I'm having problems.

At least I'll get to see my family this weekend, so I'm excited for that. And DBF will finally see their old Victorian house - he's never been to MA so this will be a good trip. I hope. I'm really hoping my head isn't horrible while we're there.

Eileen, glad to hear you've got hot water again and you're clean! It's amazing what a difference a nice hot shower can make.

Laura, good luck with the cleaning. Our whole apartment is in severe need of deep cleaning, except for maybe our kitchen. That's the only room that gets cleaned regularly.

Lori, glad that you made it through your tough day yesterday. Hope your niece's surgery goes smoothly.

Megs, glad that Droolie's dragon was sending you comforting puffs of flame to help you sleep! Smiler

Deb, even when I was in high school and college we had that same problem with audience members leaving before the end of the concert. I think a lot of people just don't have manners.

Jenny, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope the sinus uck goes away soon.

Tracie, hope your DH has a good appt with his neuro. And hope that your shoulder keeps feeling ok.

Ok, back to work for me. Time to get some of these projects done and off my desk! Hope everyone has a good Wednesday! Heart

MJ - I had a problem w/ the topa tingles too - they woke me up when I first started to get them. Now - the tingles and I are friends. I sleep through them - or I just don't get them as bad, I don't know.

Have you had any strange dreams since restarting the Topamax? I remember I had some odd ones when I first started it!

Hope those tingles calm down quickly for you! And that the beastie stays away!

Hey beastie are you listening??!! Leave MJ alone!! (I hope that does the trick! Wink LOL)

well, it's a big day for me. i'm going to the orthopaedist in an hour- and will know more about the elbow injury later tonight.

talked to the workers' comp person this morning. not fun.

i called the HA specialist yesterday and told him about the amitriptyline weight gain and lack of any improvement since the increased dose. He's dropping it back down to where it was before we increased it. (Yay!) And we'll talk about where to go from here at the next visit.

well, i'm off. can't be late for this app't, and i need to find parking. (a mega feat around here) I wish I could just pay $1 or $2 to use the parking deck, but as I have a permit to park elsewhere on campus, my car would get a ticket. they're really trying to save those spots for out of town patients- not people who technically could ride the bus to the appt.

More later!

Well, I had a change of plans. Since my brain is kind today I decided to go see if the weather was nice outside and as luck would have it, it is. So, I took my friend and we ran to the garden center and picked up some stuff. So, no haircolor today. The grays will be there tomorrow right? I'm headed back outside, then after a quick shower DH and I are going on a date. It has been three weeks!!

Lori-I hope your neice is doing well

Megs- Group Hug All I can say is...kids!! Don't worry about the house; take care of you! I keep meaning to check on your new look on your site too...sorry about that. I keep distracting myself, which isn't difficult LOL

Deb-How rude can those parents be? I didn't like to read that at all!

Eileen-since I didn't clean or do my hair, maybe Michael will stop in today? Hmmm, clean house or Michael, tough choice to make...

Jenny-I hope you start feeling better soon Flower

Tracie-Glad the pain settled down for you

MJ-I hope your head behaves for your trip!!

Dar-Glad your headpain went away..I agree..YAHOO!!

Jamie-I can't wait to hear about your appointment Fingers Crossed

Okay, off to play in the dirt!!

Have a great rest of the day guys!
