Morning everyone!

OMG this board was a MESS yesterday!!! Seems like the beastie was stalking all of us!

I am actually feeling pretty good today. I have a slight HA, but I think it is an MOH. Yesterday's was the migraine that wouldn't DIE! Two replax and three vicoprofen from abou 9am-7pm and I only BARELY got it under control.

So, I expected to feel a little crappy today. It didn't help my cat Fiona woke me up half an hour before the alarm. Mad

I am (hopefully) going out for dinner and drinks w/ my best friend Amanda tonite, so I will NOT get a migraine today!

I hope everyone has a MUCH better day today than yesterday.... Big Grin

Good morning to everyone. I have my English tea with vanilla sugar this morning and the kids are throwing paper airplanes off the top of the stair landing before school. Smiler

After I drop the boys off at school, the girls are going with me to a follow-up appt. I need to have more blood work done for comparison. I'm still a occasionally dizzy and tired even after stopping the Verapamil, but I haven't fainted and I was able to eat some yesterday.

I have a stack of papers to grade for my evening classes; however, it's so pretty today I'd rather go outside and tend to my herb garden, despite the pollen. I know the girls would prefer the outside option too!

I'm ignoring the slight headache on my left side today. I hope it's a good Friday for all!

Hi gang -

I hope you all feel well today. Kat good luck, I hope your little bit of head pain fades away and you get to go out with your friend. Fingers Crossed Take good care of yourself today!

Liz I loved your description of the paper airplanes. If you get done with your herb bed, would you come weed mine? Wink I haven't gotten any garden work done yet this season.

Valerie hope you're doing well! Blinking

I have a little head pain this morning, too. Got my period yesterday and from my PMS a few days ago & migraine yesterday, it feels like it's going to be a bad one. Mostly they're very mild since I started the bio-identical HRT and I haven't gotten many menstrual migraines in that time, but some months are different. I just hope this clears up today. For me days 1 & 2 are usually the worst.

In other news... it's another perfect gorgeous day. My kids actually made the bus and they and their father are actually unscathed after their morning together. We have very dear friends coming tomorrow. It will be great to see them even if the house is dirty! I'm going to do what I can to clean - the guest bedroom will be clean, anyway, but I promise not to overdo it. Eeker

I had a really good meeting with my business group this morning and from that have a pay-as-I-go office lined up to start my mediation practice, so I should be ready to go as soon as I'm done with the course in a week and a half. Just one more weekend of the course to get through (next week). I'm getting all set up with new business cards, talking to people, etc so I can get a quick start. The bank account could sure use it! Yes

Good days to all. Sorry if I scared anyone with my incoherence last night. I think it must have been an unusually strong effect of the Imitrex. It cleared up fast.

Hi everyone!

I'm finally here (after a long, sick time away!) Big Grin I think I had about 3 weeks or so of horrible migraine--much MUCH more pain than my normal, chronic ick. I took a few different steroids along the way, without improvement. During my last effort, I tried decadron, Imitrex injections X4 days, and phenergan x10 days (around the clock).

This morning, I feel like my head may finally be settling down. I had a very wild night last night, with horrible mig pain and nausea. Maybe the crummy migraine just wanted to have one last party. But I woke very early this morning feeling almost no pain at all! Today, I'm actually able to look at the computer screen without feeling sick...I sure hope the day continues to go well--for all of us!! Fingers Crossed

Kat, I sure hope you have fun with your friend tonight!

Liz, while your kids were throwing paper airplanes, mine were playing with their monster trucks. Getting out the door in time for the bus is always a challenge in my house...

Valerie, thanks for the good wishes! I sure hope you feel well today, too!! Smiler

Megs, don't worry about making your house perfect for your company...It's YOU they want to see!! Clean only what you absolutely have to clean--nobody will notice the rest! Are you really OK after your "Imitrex hangover?" I'll have to look for your post from last night...

Anyway, things look good here today! I feel like I'm waking from an awful, nightmare-filled sleep...It'll sure be nice to feel like me again soon.

Heartjenny

ps--Gretchen, we put our dogs' meds in a small amount of cream cheese.

Good morning everyone. I woke up earlier than expected due to the new puppy. She is an early riser which is killing me. I am not a morning person. The husband took her and the others for a walk to burn off some energy. She's been doing pretty good but this morning she pooped on my treadmill. Not sure why that is where she felt she needed to go but . . . oh well. My cat Bob still won't come home because of her. He hangs around the outside of the yard but I can't get him to come in. Animals are so funny.

I've had a mild headache that fades in and out for the last week. It's nothing severe, just periodically annoying. I've been really tired lately. I have taken a nap the last two days in a row. I think it may be because the puppy has messed up my sleep schedule a bit.

I went to my book club meeting last night. There were only two of us there (which is odd) so we kinda talked about the book but also talked about things in general too. It was actually nice. I did hear from another lady at the library that my neighbor from my previous house passed away from a motorcycle accident. I felt sad to hear that. It happened the day after he retired. My older son was fond of him and hung around with his daughter.

Kat, it sounds like yesterday was a nightmare. Take it easy today. You have a lot of meds in your system. That alone will make you feel crappy.

Liz, I can totally visualize the paper airplane throwing going on at your house. My kids used to do that YEARS AGO. It's amazing how easily entertained they can be.

Megan, I am on bio-identical HRT too. It has helped so much with hot flashes and menstrual migraines. It doesn't make me sick like the synthetic HRT did. Most of my monthlies are mild (I'm 50) but on occasion, they are heavy. I think every few months my body does a good cleaning out.

Everyone take it easy.

Well, today seems to be a repeat of yesterday for me. Another migraine with no relief in site. I called my neuro's office and talked to the nurse. My doctor is not in the office today. The nurse said that he should be calling in for messages. Hopefully, he will call in something different for me to try since the Zomig doesn't seem to be working.

I hope everyone else has a good day. At least, it's Friday.

Good morning everyone.

We had some excitement early this morning - we had an earthquake! It was centered 130 miles east of St. Louis on the IL/IN border. Dh and I both woke up to a shaking bed - he thought it was me, I thought it was him. He said, "I think we just had an earthquake." So I got up to use the bathroom and there was Kath heading down the hall. She wanted to know why the house was shaking. I told her it was an earthquake. Nikoli also felt it but thought he was dreaming. It was a 5.2.

So far the only damage I have heard of in St. Louis is some concrete falling from a bridge in the city near my old neighborhood. I'm sure if it had been in the evening we would've heard the stuff on our mantle rattling. I certainly hear it rattle when the quarry blasts during the day.

Kat, glad you're feeling better today. Liz and Valerie, I hope you have good days. Megs, I hope your menstrual migraine isn't too bad and I'm glad you're more coherent. Jenny, I'm glad to see you back posting.

Hoopsky, I remember the puppy days. Never again! You're a brave woman to take on another puppy!

Everyone else, have a good day.

I finally manages to break a 3 day headache today. Well, last night.

Since I started the preventive medicines rather than 2 day long migraines that are strong enough to keep me in bed I get these mild (about 2 - 3 on a 10 point scale) but very nagging ones that last for days. some days I don't know whether to just stand the pain and not take the medicines. Don't know what is better.. having this headache or putting loads of chemicals inside me. after 3 days of just taking small dosages I couldn't stand it and took the full one, and it finally knocked it.

Increased my dosage of preventive medicine this morning hopefully that will help.

very glad some of you are headache-free today, hope it lasts a very long time. and quick relief for those of you that are not.

Mornin yall!

WOW I wasnt early enough lots o people on already this am! tee hee
I hope everyones pain goes away, and yea for those who have no pain!

Deb.. OH MY! an earthquake in St Louis?? wow is that a first? We get em quite often around here, but most of them arent felt, the last one we felt was based around Olympia. That was a couple years ago I think. We are about due for another soon. Oh wait we felt one when we lived in Salem, it was centered really close to the plant my hubby ran in Canby. that was a year and a half ago.

Anyway, So far today only mild pain, I took my Midrin last night after I FINALLY got home from running round all day. I had bad photopobia all day. Went sunglasses shopping as mine were scratched bad. Ya know most sunglasses out there just arent dark enough! many of them made things seem even brighter! At least with the horrible flouresent lights in the store lol.

But I had a couple kinda scary moments too. My mind has been getting more and more forgetful and spacey. Yesterday AM when I was taking 3 boys to school I couldnt remember who I was supposed to drop off. The boys laughed at me and told me. That one wasnt too scary, but later that day I went to pick up my youngest. I was driving along, and totally forgot where I was going, and had NO idea where I was. My oldest who was in the car reminded me I was getting TJ from his class. I then couldnt remeber at ALL how to get there! It only lasted a min. or so, but jeez thats just a scary confusing moment when your driving!

Well I have to go take my chillens to school now!
Hope yall have a wonderful day!

Good Morning for Los Angeles,
We made it here about 1:15 this morning. Not really a bad drive. I feel better, I could use a new neck. In the time since I posted in Vents my neck has become more anoying. I'll figure out how to deal with that. Maybe some streching or something.

I wondered who on the forum would feel the earthquake!! We get mild ones all the time of course. The 5.2 is a bit more than mild. Glad you are all safe.

Hoops, the puppy sounds so darling, even for his problems. My dog is 13 and I would love to get another for her to help train, but she would not approve of that at all. My ex used to tease me that I needed a loaner dog if our dog had to stay overnight at the vet. That really wasn't far from the truth.

Jenny it's so nice to have you back and sounding better. I hope this lasts for you.

Heather hope the doctor calls you back soon for some changes and relief. It is the weekend, you should enjoy!!

Megs, dust a bit, you cleaned earlier this week and dealt with dog hair, I'm sure that's good enough, their friend!!

Well Sleeping Beauty, oh DD, just arrived, so I will go for now. Take care and everyone have a good and PAIN FREE DEPRESSION FREE Friday.

Cindy

Eileen - I'm with you doing the Jersey girl happy dance in this perfect weather! I start feeling better as soon as the days get longer and the time changes so there's more light in the evenings. Winter is sooo hard for me. maybe I need to look into one of those light things.

Jenny it's so good to hear you sounding like yourself again! i can hardly tell you!

Kirsti I can relate to not wanting to have too much medication in my system but also it's important to treat the migraines so they don't continue/get worse/transform. I'm glad you knocked the migraine out!

Hoopsky what you said about a real clear out every few months makes sense - in general I love the bio-identical HRT, too. A year ago between hot flashes, anxiety, itching & insomnia I thought I was going to lose my mind. The migraines were much more severe, too.

I just lost another business client to the current state of the economy. Sorry to see her go - she could still really use the help. I keep saying the universe is telling me my new business directions are the right ones, as the old business keeps falling off. It's just a little scary as I have to keep paying the bills!

I'll check back in later and say hi to everyone - sorry if I'm leaving you out. Trying to keep my mild HA under wraps and I seem to be flitting from one thing to another - got to focus. Danny is working with classic Rolling Stones on. (Brings me right back - Paint it Black - the summer I was fifteen.) I love the music, but no way can I concentrate with it. Headphones are in my sweetheart's immediate future!

- Megs

Not a first, but rare. And, we just had another one at 10:15 a.m. The computer monitor was creaking, the computer hutch was swaying, the TV was creaking, I was shaking - wow, I didn't like it. Two in one day is almost unheard of!

I'm off to the US Geological Survey page to report this latest one - I'll have a lot more info this time than the 4:30 a.m. one.
