Good Morning,
Well it's early here. Piper woke me up as she was leaving. The girl is not light on her size 11 feet. Should have given her ballet when she was younger. Thought I would doze back off, but no, Nala was trying to get up and was having trouble, so I got up with her, got her outside, moved her bed (off the hardwood floor where she has trouble getting footing), and got her fed and medicated. By than I was awake. And the top of my head is now "prickily". It was probably that way when I got up, but I was too busy to notice. I am going to e-mail my boss about working the rest of the week from home due to Nala. I'm hoping if she can get into a routine with her meds again she will feel better and I'll be ok leaving her. Right now I don't. My previous boss really didn't care where I worked. Or course she was on the East Coast, this boss is in the same office with me. She is not big on working from home. Megs I'm glad you are feeling better this morning. I hope it continues. I think the shower is a swell idea and think I'll get a fresh cup of coffee and head there myself. A good morning I hope to you all. Cindy |

Morning, girls!
Can't believe I'm here this early! Cindy -- why is it that new bosses think they have to fix things that weren't broken to begin with? Megan -- here's hoping the beast stays away. My housekeeper didn't come yesterday, so the house is a bit dirty. Her mother, who is 91 or 92 (Mary's not sure), fell Sunday and needs someone with her. I'm not sure when she'll be back. Think I'll put off my shower and garden first. I've planted everything I bought Monday and now need to get flowers. Monday was vegetables and herbs. Have a great day! Gretchen in Mississippi Another pretty day |

Good morning.
Well, we've almost made it to Friday. I can't believe I've made it this far without a migraine (I'm whispering this so as not bring one on) LOL I do have a slight headache this morning. We have a chance for storms tonight. Hopefully, that won't trigger a migraine. I hope everyone has good Thursday. |

Morning all from NM,
The entire state is under a red flag warning for wildfires because of heavy winds--I hate windy weather; it always makes me dizzy. I am hoping I feel well enough today to do some housework. that you have a housekeeper, Megan and Gretchen. My kids and husband are wonderful helpers when it comes to cooking, running the dishes, and washing clothes. But they leave everything else to me I also have an appoinment with my neurologist today. And thanks to this web site and all of you I have alot of questions for him. Hope Nala has a good day, Cindy. Here's hoping for day 11, Heather. Mary |

My goodness it's been a long week. The kids have a 2 hour late start tomorrow so at least I can sleep till 8, sleep doctor's orders for off days.
I got slammed with another migraine yesterday afternoon. That's a migraine for parts of the last four days. Very unusual these days. Has to be a combo of things, but I'm not sure what. Kath found out yesterday that if she gets a form from her counselor and if her counselor signs it and I sign it, it bascially says she failed on semester of chemistry and will make up her science requirement with another science class. I think it's a great idea; dh isn't thrilled with it. Really, as an elementary school teacher, when will she need this level of chemistry? I haven't seen Nikoli doing any chemistry beyond what minerals react to different solutions. The science he's had I know Kath can handle with biology and another science. There was an article in our paper last week, explaining why the state switched to its current physics/chemistry/biology order of things; I think it's fine if you're going to be a scientist, but they should offer other things to the students not on a science track. Who said yesterday they were making my chicken soup tonight? I hope you guys like it! Megs, I hope your migraine is gone. Cindy, bless your heart for wanting to be home with Nala. Heather, we have a chance of storm, too. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Deb,
That's good news on the Kath front. I bet you're less stressed just knowing that you don't have to worry that this is something that could VERY much impact her academics... It's good to see you posting here even though you're on your break from hosting. This is such a family that we all get used to each other, and feel strange when someone is no longer around. I'm glad that you're not going that route, and that you're going to keep updating us with the news of the family! (did that paragraph make sense? I have the beginnings of a beast trying to attack my head...) Heather- Let's hear it for 10 days! Awesome Megs- Glad you're feeling better! Gretchen- I wish I could go outside- it's also beautiful here... but alas, I'm stuck behind a desk. (sigh) Happy may day everybody! |

Usually I'm first in the tea room, but I'm getting slammed at work today... It is one of those days where no matter how hard I work I can't manage to get anything accomplished
But the day is nearly over!!! (I work 7-3 so only have 2 hours and 38 minutes left... not that I am counting!) I'm so psyched b/c I am going out w/ my Best friend tonite to a Young Alumni function from the college we went to. I haven't seen her in a couple weeks, and those events (its annual) are always soooo much fun. Btw.. I'm jealous of everyone's housekeepers. Its just me and two cats, but I hate cleaning! Heather- Oh, I'm soooo happy for you!! Enjoy your streak while it lasts! Deb- Glad to hear you are going to get things straigtend out w/ your daughter & chem class. I had a similar issue in high school. I got pushed into a Pre-Calculus class which I ultimately got a 68 in (I was a straight A student in HS). Trashed my average my junior year. Cindy- Try explaining to your boss that 1)Work at home increases productivity, its a fact. 2) it will increase YOUR productivity because I am sure you are less likely to get a migraine when you aren't under florescents. I'm happy to see everyone is doing pretty good today. How great is the NJ weather? I acutally can't wait to go outside!!! (with HUGE sunglasses on of course!!) |

Morning all. I'm still really struggling here, between the Topa issues and my migraine symptoms. Between the two I haven't been sleeping well, either, so I'm dragging again today. Today will probably not be very productive, but it is what it is.
The good news is it's actually warm enough here, finally, to wear a skirt to work. I've lost a lot of weight the past few months from the restrictive diet I'm on (I'm not on it for weight loss, but I'll take it), which is a good thing, but I do not own a single pair of pants that fits. All are at least a size too big, and most weekends I haven't felt well enough to go clothes shopping. The one weekend I did, I couldn't find any pants I liked or were flattering. I do have many skirts that are the right size, but it hasn't been warm enough to wear them for the most part. But today it is. It's nice to wear clothes that actually fit. The other good news is I'll be flying to Boston in two weeks for a conference for work, and since my family is in the area it's like getting a free trip home. I'm happy to be seeing them again, though a little anxious about the traveling part. But the day after I get back here is my appointment with my new doc. Looking at it that way it seems a little more manageable to hold out another 3 weeks to see this guy. I guess that's all for now. I'm not sure I've made it above the level of road kill quite yet, but it's one day closer to the weekend, so I'll take it. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. Hello everyone. The migraine karma today seems to be better than the last couple days. Let's all pray to the karma God and ask him/her to keep the beast away.
I had a pretty good night's sleep but I am dreaming something fierce. A couple of dreams were good though so I don't mind when that happens. I went to the local coffee house last night and watched my husband play with his instructor. He started bass lessons about 4 months ago. He sounded pretty good. I listen to him at home but because he's playing alone, it doesn't sound like a song a lot of the times. He seemed excited to be playing. The puppy (Brandy) is doing great. Last night she was so cute . . . she got tired around 10:30 or so. She went into her crate and went to sleep. I was reading in bed and when I got up to check on her, her crate door was wide open and she was sound asleep in there. It was too cute! I'm going to my last book club meeting tonight for Oprah's book A New Earth. It has been a real joy meeting others and talking about this book. I will miss it. Maybe we can find another book and continue the experience. I will suggest it. If my 22 year old doesn't get a job soon I'm going to scream. Since I'm late getting here I won't comment to everyone. I love reading what you all are doing though. Enjoy today. |

A late hello from me!
I don't know what I've been doing all day but here it is almost 5 o'clock! I'm feeling pretty good today, no mig yet. Had to move to the living room instead of the bedroom just now because they are painting or something downstairs and the smell is awful. I thought I was going to die in the bathroom before I got through LOL! Sunny day here, still cool though. I actually did some mending for DH this morning. Sewed a button back on a jacket and tacked down the edge of a pants pocket. Took me 20 minutes instead of the 10 it should have, but felt good to actually accomplish something. I need to start going through the questionnaire for my neuropsych testing. Still haven't done it. And still catching up on newspapers. DH is busy at work. He works for an auction house and their sales are usually on Thursdays. Today was a big two-part sale, but he thinks he'll still make it home in time to see his NY Rangers start losing at 7pm LOL. Speaking of LOL, anyone else here addicted to the LOLCats website? It's just the cutest thing. Here's the link if you want. http://icanhascheezburger.com/ LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |

Hey -
My head cleared and I actually had several hours of feeling really great - before I started feeling tired again. Got a little walk in and got my insurance submissions caught up. The CSR's at my ins co are really nice & helpful, the processing department are truly awful. They lose and miss things all the time. I have to resubmit about 1/3 of everything I submit. I work really hard for that money! Right now they're supposedly processing the payment of the $265+ I was out of pocket for Imitrex they were supposed to cover and didn't. Only my 5th phone call about it! Well - nice to see everyone. LauraSue I'm glad you had a better day. Hoopsky sounds like you're doing well. Nice you got to hear your DH play. MJ i wish you were feeling better, but skirts & trips to Boston are reasons to celebrate, yes? Take all the positive you can! Kat even when money's tight I pay to have the house cleaned every two weeks - I'd lose my mind otherwise. She was away so it hadn't been cleaned in a month. Jamie hope the beast left you alone! Deb good to see you! I'm glad you found some solutions with Kath. Mary I hate windy days too. I hope yours went okay. My DH is pretty good about cleaning up too; my 2 kids make a big mess. At least we all straighten up when the cleaning lady is coming! Heather congrats on the 10 days! Cindy I'm glad you can stay home with Nala. Hope she feels better. I started cooking dinner tonight & Danny moved in & took over - hey, I'm not arguing! I'll clean up the kitchen later - but I've probably done enough for a day after a major 2 day monster. Taking it easy & watching comedy shows tonight. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Hi All--
Finally home from work--kinda worn out today. We were really busy and this morning I kinda thought a migraine might be on the way. Since I'm new where I work, I warned my tech that if I suddenly get really snippy or extremely #####, she needs to ask me if I have a headache, cause that's usually what happens about 5 minutes before one hits. At first she looked at me funny, then she said "If only everybody who gets like that could be fixed with a dose of nasal spray"! Luckily I didn't get one this a.m. but now all the techs know my pre-symptoms and are planning on trying to get Zomig for everybody they meet who's difficult!!! Thought you guys might like to know some people can come up with funny ideas and tease us kindly about our monsters. Won't say anything to everybody today, except I'm so glad that the monsters seem better for most today. Tracie |
