Is it me or is this week going soooooo slllloooowwwwwlllyyyy.... I feel like its NEXT wednesday already!!!
Well, how is everyone this morning? I'm not too bad... Didn't dodge the beastie yesterday Watching the Today Show, (have I mentioned I work from Home??? I may be the only one who has MaxJerz beat!).... and trying to get some work done. My morning started off great, because I didn't have a single new email this morning when I signed on to work. Trust me, that's a good thing!! |

Good Morning Kat and Company!!
I'm drinking my coffee and figuring out how I feel this morning. I did have to take a recuse med last night to go to bed. My hair felt like it was dull pins all day, even after 2 doses of imitrex. Certainly slept well. I will work from home today since on top of the migraine yesterday I got a flat. When I took the tire in last night I need to replace the tires. I wanted to argue, but they were right. So the car will get new tires and I'll work from home. I wish I could more, but my current boss likes us all in the office. While my commute isn't as good as yours or MJ's, it's only 10 miles and about 20-25 minutes, so not bad. In my migraine induced mood yesterday I wandered through the garden shop after work and bought a replacement pot for one I broke and did I stop there, oh no!! I found these darling iris like plants that are California natives for an area I'm planting, a bail of moss, some thyme that is a ground cover for another area. It does help the mood. Maybe around lunch today I'll put some of it in. At plant the pot. Take care everyone. Cindy |

Good Morning, everyone.
I agree with Kat, this week seems to be taking a long time. I wish my commute was as close as MJ's or Kat's but I only work about 10 miles from home, too. It's not too bad. Our new puppy is sleeping with my son. He says she only gets up a couple of times during the night. We keep her in the bathroom with the other dogs during the day. (2 chihuahuas and 1 papillion) She is seems to hold her own. The Chihuahuas don't want anything to do with her right now. My Papillion tries to mother her. I have very busy day at work so I guess I'd better get busy. Hope everyone has good and pain-free day. |

Good Morning All--
I made a Mistake yesterday--one of my favorite ones! I had had a mild 2 day migraine which I thought was over so I drank a cup of coffee yesterday morning. Of course it retriggered--still not above a 4, but bad enough that I spent a good bit of the day with oxygen and an icepak. It takes more than a 4 to induce a 3rd Zomig dose 'cause that always risks rebound. I got a really good night's sleep so feel great this morning. Good thing, I have to go to the grocery store today. You guys talking about working from home really set me off! I just really vented to DH about the other Dressage Queens that they are suddenly calling our riding instructor and changing the days she comes over to teach, and everytime it ends up on a day I have to work. So then I can't have a lesson!!! But since I own the barn and covered arena I do think my needs should be considered as well as their convenience. We've done our lessons here on Wednesdays for over 3 years and I have set my work schedule around Wednesday. So how come nobody else feels they need to do it that way--particularly if they don't work???? I'm really sad. Guess today's not my day. I bid on an antique Egytian shawl on Ebay and lost. I had even bid up to 100 pounds (it was in England). Guess I didn't need it that bad. DH was going to help me buy it as a birthday gift. Hope everybody dodges the bullet today, or is at least able to keep the monster caged. Tracie |

Good morning, gals. No tea this morning, just a second cup of coffee. I usually drink it earlier, but I got a late start because today was Fosamax Morning. Nothing to eat or drink for 30 minutes.
Didn't make it yesterday. I was planting peppers in pots. I don't know whether they're resistant to the wilt I have in my vegetable plot, so I'm growing some in pots. I'm going to plant the basil today. Including some Thai basil. It's got a different spicier taste. The basil is sensitive to the wilt, but I'm going to try it in other parts of the yard and see what happens. Cindy -- I'm glad you're feeling good enough to garden! One of my favorite things to do. I love iris! I've got some bearded iris that never bloom, but I like the leaves for texture. We're having an incredible spring, and they bloomed! I'd forgotten what color they are. The privet is blooming now. Kat -- I'm sorry Zomig isn't an option today. Rebound is an itch, isn't it. Heather -- a new puppy is like a new baby when it comes to getting up at night. Sparky has decided to sleep on the floor again, and sometimes gets up in the night and tinkles on the carpet instead of waking me up to go outside. The Miralax is doing a good job with his constipation. Yesterday I mixed it in some Thousand Island dressing, and he lapped it up. He's a true omnivore. He's at the beauty party today, getting his hair done. Tracie -- what a bummer about your dressage class. I agree, they ought to ask when your facility is available. Is there someone else you can let work there when the dressage group wants to? I agree that since it's your arena, they ought to consider your needs. Girls, I'm really feeling better. My head got to a 4, so I took my Imitrex and acetaminophen. I can have a least a bit of confidence that while it might not go away, it's not going to morph into a 7 or 8. That's enormous progress. Dr. Brandes is way cool! Happy day to all! Gretchen in Mississippi |

French Vanilla coffee here.
From my sig you guys can see I'm on a hosting break. I didn't post for a week just trying to come to grips with things. Just a quick update - my aunt is out of the hospital and in rehab. She told my cousin yesterday she doesn't like the place. He told her too bad, she needs to be there. And, she has a bed sore. Kath is slowly raising her English and geometry grade. But I fear the chemistry is a lost cause. I should've gotten the tutor earlier. I'm afraid we're looking at summer school. That's going to be rough - no district transportation so I'll be driving her. School will start at 7:30 Other than that, I've been doing things like attempting to get laundry done, making quick meals as I'm in a cooking rut and just trying to stay sane. I've been reading and seeing some of you have had a rough time with migraines - I hope you all start to feel better. |

Hello dears -
Well, my migraine from last night is down to a tiny point of pain and i hope that will go away too. Got good sleep and a nice walk (with baseball cap down low over the eyes) with Kimi this morning. Now today my computer is totally non-functional again - my computer guy who was here 5 hours on Friday says he thinks there's a worm in our network (between D's programming & web work & kids' computers and my laptop we have 5 computers here). So John the computer guy will be back this afternoon. I'm in the family room on Adam's computer just to check in on everything, and then I'm going to try to spend the day getting my health insurance submissions caught up & other personal business. Kat I work from home too. Have done for most of the last 17 years. And I've been coaching some people on setting up and operating home-based businesses. It's a great solution for migraineurs & others with chronic illness as long as you can keep yourself on track! I hope the beast leaves you be today! Gretchen & Cindy I'm still having garden envy. I am planning to do some weeding this afternoon. Tracie so sorry you got hit again. Tell those people who's boss around your barn, hey? Heather those little dogs sound like quite a crowd! Cute! By the way - I'm still looking for weird migraine trigger stories on my blog - I extended the deadline to Friday due to my computer problems - so please come over & post in the comments if you've got one to share! - megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Hey Guys--
I guess venting to DH is sometimes a good idea. When he went out to the barn to go to work he called my instructor and she's driving over at noon to give me a lesson! (She only lives 15 minutes away). It's not really too far to take the horse to her but horse trailer, etc., plus DH has to go since I only have permission to ride, not handle or tack up my horse, makes going to her much more difficult right now. Yea!!! Tracie |

Well, I did *not* have a good night last night, which means I feel like something lower than pond scum today. More weird Topamax side effects. I'm really sick of this. I won't vent here - I already vented in the Vents folder so I won't repeat it.
Hope you ladies are having a better day than me. I will be happy when this week (and yes, it is a slow week!!) is over. Ugh. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ "What will you do, if it does not turn out how you expect?" "I do not know. Nor shall I worry about it until it happens. Good Morning,
I am getting such a late start this morning, no mig, just postdrome. Amber and Zach are both sick and have fevers. I have some paperwork to do but no energy to do it. I think I will wait until tomorrow when my brain decides to funtion LOL. The only other thing I want to get done today is get some chocolates for Zach's teacher. Apparently, he was bitten by a spider during the math olympics at the begining of April. He is still sick. They think it was a brown recluse (sp). I am really worried about him. I guess he is on crutches know. MJ-I haven't check the vents folder yet (I'll go there next) but, Awww the 21st can't come soon enough. Hang in there Tracie-YAHOO!!! To your DH for getting your riding lesson set up. Way to go DH Megs-That is great you are extending the deadline, it gives me more time for my brain to catch up and start thinking again!! LOL And ss about your computer. The girls computer is acting up and they have been wanting to use mine....Back Off twins!!! No myspace is touching my computer LOL. Deb-I had no idea that was you!!! I am making your soup tomorrow for dinner, I will let you know how it goes. I totally feel your pain about Chemistry, it was a nightmare for Nicole. Right now she is taking marine biology and she is doing pretty good, because we had her take it with Amber. Nicole has alot of stregths but science is not one of them LOL. Gretchen-That is so great that you feel better!!! YAHOO for you and Dr Brandes. Having a great doc goes a long way!! Heather-I love hearing about your puppy!! Too cute!! Cindy-Have fun planting. I envy you. Are backyard is still a project in the making. That's what you get when you live with your general contractor LOL. Kat-Yes, the week is going sooooo slowly. I work at home too so it sounds like we have the same commute Hoopsky-You asked about my ginger tea yesterday. You can probably buy it but, I make it myself. Basically, you just take 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add in about 2 inches of peeled sliced ginger. Cover and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes. I add honey and lemon slices. It really does help with nausea. Let me know what you think. Jamie-Thanks for letting us know about Laurahost. Glad to hear she is okay. Ss she is migraining. Everyone have a great Wednesday |

My head just stopped hurting, yay! Doing the usual stuff, meaning not much. DH is upset about his NY Rangers losing last night. We're going to have bacon and eggs for dinner, one of our once in a while treats!
I'm in a much better mood today, but I was having a real good pity party yesterday. Sorry you all missed it but I saved you some cake: Kat, glad to hear you had no new emails this morning. You would have hated my job -- I used to get almost 200 emails a day! Cindy, sorry to hear about your need for the rescue med last night. The new plants sound lovely. Heather, aww the dogs sound so cute! I want a chihuahua! I don't know who would walk it or feed it for me though lol! Tracie, someone should slap those Dressage Queens upside their heads!! And the Egyptian shawl sounded lovely, too bad. Gretchen, nice to hear about the progress with the Imitrex, that's wonderful news. Deb, good for you for realizing you needed a break from hosting. You're setting a really good example for the rest of us in how to take care of ourselves and find the right balance. Meggers, so sorry to hear about your computer problems. That is SO frustrating. When I was still working, the only thing that would really make me lose it was a computer not working right. MJ, one step lower than pond scum is road kill. My sympathies, hon, been there done that bought the tee shirt already using it to dust! Dar, sorry to hear the kids have fevers. And that's pretty scary about the teacher who was bitten by a spider. I've heard it can be pretty bad. Eileen, hope the stressful stuff gets resolved for the better soon. Hugs to you. LauraSue. (I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) MENOPAUSE COUNTDOWN: |

Hi Everyone,
It seems like FOREVER since I've been here. My husband suffered a Pulmonary Embolism and things have been topsy turvey ever since. He is ok, but him being home from work is becoming more and more difficult. He is one cranky guy. Anyway... it's good to drop in and say hello. I hope that everyone is doing ok. Blessings, Sandi |
