Wow. This is the first time I've been the one to start our daily chat for quite some time. I hope this means that y'all are enjoying your Sunday!

Anyway, I just fixed a cup of tea from some great and fascinating teas that a friend sent me for Christmas. They're called "flowering teas." It's hard to explain, but basically, it's tea leaves that are sewn into a cluster, often with a flower in the center. When you pour hot water over them, they "flower." If you're curious, you can see a video of the cluster opening in water HERE.

Now that my tea is made, I need to get to answering some posts here!

hugs,

Wow, they're not kidding when they say "flowering teas." That's a great video.

Got up early and checked on the forum. Had breakfast and went to church. Had lunch. Maybe I will take a nap after this check on the forum. I'm really tired.

The unresolved walking pneumonia leaves me always feeling as though I have the beginnings of a cold. I'm going to try doing some coughing on purpose, to see if that helps clear the stuff out of my lungs.

I hope everyone's having a good Sunday.

I don't know Teri, that video is kind of cool and just a little bit creepy, too! Wink Someday let me tell you about the thing Danny had growing in his sink when we were first dating... LOL

I'm getting some cinnamon apple tea now. Finally feeling better - mig 95% gone after a long hot bath and a lot of relaxing. What a boring way to spend the weekend! All teens friendly and well-behaved today. Definitely, things are looking up!

See how you are, oh Divine Terimeister? Now I want tea. Guess I'll be right back. Smiler

Ahhhh...that's better! I settled on Mango Ceylon, subtitled "Metabolic Frolic" tea. Said subtitle cracks me up!

Not a whole lot going on today. A bit of forum time, and then I've got to type up that last set of monthly board meeting minutes. Maybe file a few papers. Right now, between a couple of rounds of Poppit and forum time, I'm doing a fine job of procrastinating. Smiler

Hope everyone's having a splendid day!

Even though this is Sunday, I'm gonna back up to Friday.

Some may have seen my post in the happy birthday to my husband thread. My mom had surgery on Friday for what they thought was an obstruction in her bowel but found out four feet of her small intestines had died and they had to remove it. Old scarring from an old appendectomy surgery cut off the blood flow. She started early Thursday morning and went to the ER. Her MD said most people ignore the pain and then die within 48 hours. Hair Raising

So Friday, yesterday and today I've been at the hospital. Mom is going to recover, however, today I'm afraid she's not using enough morphine and doesn't want to sit in the recliner because it hurts too much. It's important that she's up, and should be moving, in order for her bowels to start working again.

Several years ago she had to detox from fiorinal and codeine and I'm thinking she's afraid she will get hooked on morphine.

It's going to be a long recovery, but if she does everything she's supposed to, she will be ok.

Tomorrow I promise to go back to the boring "I went grocery shopping and made a nice dinner" type postings. Wink

Yep. I am indeed rather fond of Pogo. Once in a while, when my sibling's not too busy, we like to meet in Bingo Luau, too, while we jabber on the phone.

Better yet, the teas taste great! I'm going to have to order some. My friend sent me a gift set with one of the little glass tea pots so you can watch it blossom and an assortment of teas.

You get feeling better, young lady!

Well, I haven't made myself any tea yet, but I'll probably make some orange peppermint in a little bit. Instead, I'm having a rice cake with peanut butter (one of my new snacks that's in line with my current eating plan).

Today was actually a really good day. It was beautiful weather here today, sunny and clear with the temp around 50. DBF and I took the bus into Seattle, then took the ferry over to Bainbridge Island to go to one of our favorite cafes for lunch. I had delicious (as always) fish and chips. DBF got their house French toast, which is amazing, but has a lot of sugar so I can't eat it. We walked around Bainbridge for a little while after. I found a gorgeous yarn store where I bought yarn for two more knitting projects. Fun! Then we took the ferry and bus home. Stopped by the library so DBF could get a card, then got home a little while ago.

My head pain is pretty low today. I was migrainey last night but felt ok when I woke up this morning. I'm starting to get a little dizzy, but I'm hoping it's not too bad tonight. We'll see. A nice day out of the house with DBF is exactly what I needed after the end of last week!

I have two more acupuncture appointments this week. I had been debating canceling them after I realized on Thursday that they're not helping as much as I would have hoped. But now I'm thinking I may keep them at least until I get in for Botox. There's no harm to continuing the acupuncture, and if it helps my symptoms a little it's still worth it. I'll see how I feel after Tuesday's appointment.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Heart

Happy Sunday Evening Everyone!

Teri- Woah, those flowering pots are interesting and cool! How quickly do they open?

Deb- Sorry to hear about your mom. Yikes! Hair Raising Glad they caught it! My DH had surgery on his intenstines. They thought he had an obstruction but realized it was actually Crohn's disease and closed him back up after they opened him. Back then he kept him in the hosptial for 10 days until he was moving again! I hope your mom is able to keep on top of her pain.

As for me, today is DH's day off of work. We went to Home Depot to buy that lamp I've been talking about cause the one next to my bed had not been working forever! Come to find out, the one next to our bed actually works. Gentle Skillet for me. All I had to do was replace the bulb. Thank goodness I tried a new bulb before I assembled the new lamp and threw the perfectly good one out! Oh man, I felt really silly. I thought I had tried new bulbs. I don't know. But, the trip was good cause we got other things we needed. It was really fun. Since I don't get out often, I LOVE going to stores. It is really fun to look at everything. I was in such a good mood. Poor DH kinda pulls me toward the cashier. Smiler

Btw, my NDPH is much better again! And no migraine so we went out to lunch!

Kelly
