Good morning everyone,

Lynn-I hope you get plenty of rest for the next few days. I'm so glad you've taken off from work, you needed a break from that wack job boss of yours.

My Migraine continues to ease up bit by bit. Hooray!!

The truck at work yesterday wasn't to bad. It took almost two hours with no breaks but it went by quickly and I wasn't worn out to much. It made the rest of the day (all two hours of it) fly by.

I'm looking forward to a phone call after work today. I'm going to call a girl I hung out with all the time in high school but she moved to Florida and we lost touch. We found each other again on Facebook, you gotta love FB!!

Okay, I need to finish getting ready. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone-
From the comfort of my recliner with the laptop I might add!

I intend to do nothing today but REST. I have an appointment with MY doc at 9:45 so I want to get all of my notes and questions so I know EXACTLY what I need answered. Before I left work yesterday I copied the labs, office notes and spirometry from dr/boss so my doc could see what he did. Heck will freeze over before I let dr/boss treat me again-convenient or not! This taught me a lesson-the office WILL survive for me to go to the dr-MY doctor-not dr/boss. All I care about now is getting some straight answers and getting better.

It was so nice to sleep until 6AM this morning. I could seriously get use to this. Unfortunately me not working isn't an option, thanks to the economy. Oh well, that's life.

Laura-I'm glad the truck unload didn't mess you up yesterday and glad you're feeling better. I've had to use a medrol pack before for a migmon and it worked for me too.

Meg-apparently what's happening with whooping cough is that those of us that are 40+ish got the immunizations as a child and they are wearing off! All you have to do is get a booster of TDap once every 10 years to remain immune. If you've had a tetnus shot in the last 2 years, you can't get the TDap for another 2 years(2 years inbetween the tetnus and TDap). On the good side-once you get whooping cough, you can't get it again!

I better get the move on if I want to have everything done for my appointment and get in the shower. Tomorrow I may just stay in my jammies all day!

Hope everyone has a super day!
Lynn

Good morning -

Dragged myself out of bed to get ready for a phone call - had the call and now I'm awake. Better than yesterday, for sure. I do feel like I could sleep forever, these days. I think it's the nortriptyline. Trying to have a full productive day to make up for the last couple - wish me luck. It's Rachel birthday Sunday so I have to get her gifts out to her by express mail. Fell so behind!

Lynn I hope your own doctor is taking great care of you - you deserve it! That's interesting about the whooping cough - I'll have to see about that. A lot of school age kids have had it around here the past few years - their immunity shouldn't have worn off!

Laura enjoy reconnecting with your friend - that is so fun, to find people like that!

See you all later -

Megs

Good morning all!

Laura, I'm so glad your migraine is easing up a bit!

Lynn, I hope the non-dr boss will be able to give you some real help. I use to work at a medical school and you wouldn't believe all the worthless advice I got! Razzer

Taking this week off work to try to get use to the new meds and to straighten up my thinking! Thumbs Up So Marlie (my wonder dog) and I are curled up on the couch reading a great book and just being. My migraine is also easing up a bit - thus the ability to read.

Wishing all a day full of little wonders and pleasures and respite from pain and worry!

Morning all....

My head is not feeling so hot today. I'm hoping it just stays as a headache and some dizziness and doesn't progress to a migraine. Fingers Crossed Of course the dizziness is probably a bad sign! Denail is more than the longest river in Egypt!

Today, my only goal is to make it through work. As usual. I'm soooo tired. I really hope the fatigue lets up now that I lowered my dose of Lexapro. It's only been a couple weeks, so I know I have to give it time....

I have a bad cold too which is making me feel run down, and I'm sure the sinus pressure is not helping my head any....

Laura: Thumbs Up on your migraine getting better.

Lynn: I checked out my window, but I guess the flying pigs haven't reached this far north yet.... LOL. I'm so proud of you for resting and taking care of yourself! Thumbs Up

Megs: Dislike on the tiredness. I had that when I was on Neurontin. Be careful too, because it also made me insanely depressed. But I'm uber sensitive to psychological side effects of meds b/c my brain chemistry isn't right to begin with....

Cyn: I hope your adjustment to meds goes well and you can enjoy your week off. I'm uber jealous. I haven't taken a day off except for illness and doctors in like 3 years....

Deb: Tell Kath she is welcome to friend me Big Grin Though I'll warn you as a weekend warrior, my sunday posts often involve hangovers and illusions to shenanigans the night before. Also, I'm uber liberal and use facebook to promote my agenda. I just wouldn't want you to be horrified at what I expose your teenage daughter to! Tell her not to pay so much mind to appearences. My BFF looks nothing like me, and she's my partner in crime and evil twin. Though I'll admit looking this way serves as a way to immediately screen out people who don't have the ability to appreciate my personality.

Jenny: UGH I can imagine you'd be cranky! I hope today got to a better and much later start!

Heather: Still no answers Frowner I'm sorry. Are they having any luck releiving your pain?

Tracie: Why are you leaving the OR? I obviously missed something during my Tea Room hiatus.

Liz: I hope today finds you feeling better. The vomit migraines are the worst! Group Hug

Okay, If I don't get back, be AWAP.

TTYL Heart Kelly
Eileen; Bright streaks would be pretty easy in your hair. You could totally rock it!! Your job sounds insane. I'm not surprised you have constant tension headaches.... Did you have that problem at your last job? I don't remember.

Today is much better than yesterday. I'm on solid food again and the HA pain had improved remarkably. (It's just that day-after migraine HA. I always feel if I move too quickly or encounter one of my stackable triggers, it will all start again. It's a bit like walking on eggshells.)

I have to prepare for my class tonight and get ready for a road trip this weekend. Oh, I am hoping the migraines stay away for the remainder of the week. Fingers Crossed

Megs, I hope today you have more energy then yesterday. Feeling like Jello is so difficult.

Laura, Enjoy the visit with your friend. That should be exciting.

Lynn, I hope your appt. goes well and you are feeling better soon.

Cyn, Good Luckfor a wonderful week and best hopes for the new meds.

Liz

Hi everyone,
I've been working at our clients offices all this week and haven't had much time to post on here. I am doing about the same migraine-wise. I'm still taking the Lamictal, but its too soon to see what its going to do. I'm supposed to increase the dose tonight, so I'll see how I can tolerate that. I see my neuro in a few weeks and I'm going to ask her about getting on some natural supplements that I've heard so many people are taking for their migraines. I just haven't had much luck with any of the pharmaceutical preventives that I've tried so far.

Lynn- Last winter I had an awful cough and my Dr. did a whooping cough test and he told me it came back positive. We had a major miscommunication and I didn't find out the test results for about 2 months after the test was done. But I went to a pulmonologist and she called the lab and confirmed the test was actually negative. I still had the cough after 3 months and was miserable. Then my allergist diagnosed me with acid reflux and thought that was the cause of the cough. I think it partially was. But amazingly enough, I didn't really get better until I got off of
Topamax. It turned out that it was the cause of the acid reflux and that it worsened my respiratory problems. All my symptoms went away when I got off of it. Thats just my experience.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Peggy

Well it's Thursday, which means tomorrow's Friday. Thank goodness.

Finally all caught up on everyone's posts. And there seems to be a lot of people as miserable as I am lately.

Not happy the trip to the ER wasn't helpful. Although yesterday was better than Tuesday. But I woke up crummy today, and somehow I have to get through a double today, and most likely tomorrow too, but I don't know my schedule for the hotel for next week yet.

Finally seemed to have gotten sort of through to my mother. She actually suggested I cut back to part time here. Maybe because I told her they offered me a supervisor position a couple of days a week at the hotel besides what I've been doing. So I'm guaranteed $250 a week from there if I do 2 8 hour days of supervisor duty. I figure I should get paid as a supervisor considering all I do is baby-sit at work anyway. I really want to take it. DBF doesn't really like the idea, but he's kind of sour towards the whole place considering how they treated him... I don't know. I'd like to do it but I'd definitely have to set up some ground rules. Especially now that they're taking away our banquet gratuity and giving us a set rate per hour instead. Which is pretty lousy, and I'll definitely be taking a pay cut. But with the guaranteed supervisor shifts every week that may make up some of the difference.

I've also been looking online for some part time work. There seems to be a lot of internet based work that you can do from home. I'm always afraid of those type of things, but if they're on careerbuilders.com they should be safe right? I don't know. I've got to figure out something that will appease everyone.

PT was a big waste. $300 down the drain, and all I got out of it was a t-shirt. Went back to see the neck surgeon, who wants me to go to a Pain Management specialist for some epidural injections or something like that in my neck. And he wants me to see the hand surgeon to discuss the constant tingling that I have from my elbow into my head. He gave me a brace to wear to bed too. Haven't tried it yet though because my arm is too sensitive and bruised from the IV Monday. So once that gets better I'll give the brace a shot. It's supposed to keep my from bending my elbow as much at night, with hopes that that will cut down on the tingling. My mom wants me to try the chiropractor to see if that will help with my neck. Guess that's worth a shot. My boss at the hotel suggests I see an allergist to see if there's anything in my every day life that could be triggering my headaches that I'm not picking up on. Also not a bad idea, and probably something I'll at least look into. I don't see my PCP until the end of the month, so I may not wait to discuss any of that with her and just may go ahead and see if I can get an appointment. We'll see I guess.

The trial for my friend's murder looks like it's finally in the near future. Not sure how I'm going to handle all that. The State Attorney's office has called me now 2 days in a row and I'm waiting to hear back from them to set up an appiontment to discuss my testimony. I really just don't want to deal with it. There's a Supression Hearing Monday because the crazy woman who's on trial is trying to stay that her confession was coerced from the police. Newsflash, you're just a nut job. Anyway, I'm thinking about going. I don't think DBF is going to go, but I want to be there. Then the 17th there's a Pre-trial management hearing. Not sure what that's all about, but it sounds like it should be beneficial for us to go. And then jury selection begins Dec. 4th. Once they select a jury they'll officially set a trial date. The whole thought of it makes me sick. A year and a half has gone by and I can still close my eyes and see everything unfold. And the closer we get and the more we open all the wounds the worse I get. Even now I'm starting to get all emotional Frowner

Laura - glad the Medrol is working for you. Steroids never seem to work to break my migraines.

Lynn - glad you're getting a chance to rest. You need it. Hopefully you get some answers from your doctor today.

Meg - glad you have more energy today than yesterday. Hopefully it stays that way.

Cyn - glad you have the opportunity to take some time off and adjust to your new meds. Reading and relaxing sounds wonderful Smiler

Liz - glad today is a better day for you. Hopefully they keep improving.

Peggy - I hope the Lamictal kicks in and you really start to see an improvement.

Kelly - I'm glad you had a good Halloween. Mine was kind of a bust, and I had the night off too Roll Eyes At least one of us here had a good time.

Eileen - I hope today is better for you than it has been. The everyday Migraine junk is so hard to deal with.

Deb - glad the smoking ban is passing. It's such a relief, especially as a non-smoker.

Jamie - hope you're doing better.

Kelly & Alaura - if you guys see this, hope you're improving. We miss you both!

Ok, I rambled enough for now.

Lynn - Sounds like you're feeling a little bit better. Best of luck with YOUR dr sorting things out. I'm being brain dead --what's TDap?

Liz - Hope the road trip goes well. Trvaeling can make you encounter those wicked stackable triggers.

My ear is still killing me. The only medical person who will even look at my ear is my accupunturist. He said he thought it was just an incredible amount of fluid behind the eardrum. I adore the guy but I'm not entirely sure if I trust him on this.

Afternoon everyone-
I JUST got back from my dr. appt. and it went very well. He looked at the Whooping cough results and said based on my current symptoms AND the labs, he wouldn't agree that I had whooping cough at all. He said the way the labs were, there was no way to tell if it was active whooping cough, the fact I'd had it in the past and not diagnosed or if it was simply my childhood immunities.

I talked to him a long time about the asthma. He took a chest x-ray and CBC in the office and listened to my lungs and said without a doubt I DO have asthma and it is definitely out of control. He kept me on the meds dr/boss put me on, but added an inhaled steroid and changed the daily inhaler to a 12 hr. one instead of 4x daily that I'm on now. He said that if I'd been coughing this long, there is a good chance that I have some pleurisy going on too as well as the inflammation in my lungs and it was imperative that we get the inflammation under control NOW.

He spent a total of 2 hours with me and I can't tell you how much better I feel. He actually worked through an asthma plan with me so I know what to do if a really bad attack happens and what meds to take.

I'm tired from being out that long and then running to WM for milk etc. I've got to get the boys in 30 min. so no nap today, but I've still got tomorrow!

Gotta run and find something to eat-haven't had lunch either!
Lynn
