Hey lookit me, starting the thread for the day! It's not even early - ten to 11. It's sunny & warm here, maybe it is where you are too and you're all out enjoying the sunshine. With your shades on. Cool

Why did I say wacky Wednesday? I guess I just needed a lift after 3+ days in bed - a little wackiness goes a long way!

I'm cautiously optimistic - woke up feeling pretty good, pressure gone from my sinuses and not much post-nasal drip. I actually exercised, gently, about half my routine, took a good long shower, got dressed, had breakfast, did a few dishes, and now... I'm back in bed. Just started feeling really shaky and weak after 2 hours up. But it's progress.

And the other good news - no migraine Fingers Crossed , tho last night I felt awful and thought one was coming. This is a 10 day migraine-free streak - pretty good for me.

Hope everyone's feeling well.

- Megs

I am surprised I was not in migraine mode when I saw the hazy rainy day we had going here in NJ - but now it's sunny and still no pain! I am happy!

I hope I'm back on a streak - after that almost Status Migrainous I think I deserve a break! UGH that was horrid!

Anyway - the weather today makes me not think we are in the middle of winter, which is good, because I hate winter.

It's so nice out again, third day in a row! I know the cold is coming, but even then only 40's which for this time of year, is not bad!

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!!!! Cool

My Wednesday is starting off very tired.

I will be so glad when dh goes back to the sleep clinic. He snored all night. I am so tired.

My appointment at the same clinic went well. The MD is addressing my insomnia by addressing my fibro. She's putting me on klonopin, two hours before bed and then only 1/2 an ambien.

Lights and TV and computer off by 11, sit quietly and read or knit for an hour and then off to bed. Scheduled nap! The only thing I don't like is getting up at 7:30 every day, even weekends. I will have to negotiate for an hour later during the summer.

Cross your fingers it works, I'm tired of the pain. Fingers Crossed

Deb, I do hope that your new plan helps your insomnia. I've had insomnia off and on for probably the past 10 years. It always gets worse when my head is worse. The only thing that's helped me even a little bit this time around is acupuncture (strangely enough).

It gets to be a vicious cycle with me - can't sleep because of the migraine, get a migraine from not enough sleep. It's enough to make me pull out my hair! Hair Raising

It also helps me to take a shower at night before I go to bed, though I end up with strange bedhead some mornings.

Do let us know how it goes... I'm thinking of you! Group Hug

This week is my first full week back at work after the holidays, and it's been tough. And long.

My awful vertigo/nausea from yesterday got a lot better after I had acupuncture. My acupuncturist told me that she doesn't know why I'm still in pain. She's treated everything she can think of but I haven't improved as much as she would like. I felt like telling her there's only so much she can do about genetics. It gets frustrating to hear from all of my doctors that I'm a difficult case. At least she does show genuine sympathy that I'm still in pain. I think she wants to fix me as much as I do.

Unfortunately it seems like acupuncture is falling victim to the same trouble I've had with meds - I'll have some good progress and become optimistic, but then I plateau, and eventually start feeling worse again. Nothing to do but keep trying.

I didn't feel great when I woke up at 8 this morning, so I went back to sleep until 8:30. My same migraine pain is still there as always. We have another storm system coming through today, and the Aches & Pains index is a 9. Uck.

Well, enough griping for now. I thought this week was going to be stressful at work, but it looks like it won't be. So I've got that going for me. Thumbs Up

Hope everyone is having a pain-free day! Group Hug

Got my ice cold Coke Classic in my migraine hangover hands and thought I would stop in and chit chat with you guys Big Grin

I woke up at around 5:00 this morning; I too suffer from insomnia but I couldn't fall back to sleep so I got up, got showered and headed out the door to run more errands. I still don't know how I did all this stuff when I worked full time?

Megs, I hope you are getting better as the hours pass. I loved "Wacky Wednesday". With the way the weather is here, it is perfect...71 today...wacky indeed. However showers are moving in to our area later tonight and tomorrow which is why I got as much done as possible today just in case.

Eileen, you and I should be "sharing" the same rainy system I think. I can think of better things to share with friends LOL Glad it didn't get ya!

Deb, when does DH go to the sleep clinic? I hope your new regimen works for you. You deserve it!

MJ, happy to hear that things aren't as stressful at work as you thought. DH has been fighting terrible traffic no matter what time he leaves because everyone is back from their vacations and because of where we are, they are all headed in the same direction. Yikes!

Hope the rest of you have a great day!

Need to gulp down this Coke for some energy Thumbs Up

Laura, I am very fortunate not to have to battle traffic. I live about a block away from work, so I walk. Smiler If I had to deal with the stress of commuting on top of working with the way my head is now, I would have to figure something out. I wouldn't be able to handle full-time hours *and* a commute. Plus, if I'm not feeling well, it's easy to sneak home for a little while without having to worry about driving. Zzzz'z

Well, I'm in bed this afternoon with scratchy throat and coughing.

Sleeping all day, but now my head is starting to throb- too much coughing. Perhaps I'll just go back to bed.

I want some hot chicken soup and orange juice. Anyone have some to spare?

Anyhow, I'm going back to sleep. See you all tomorrow!

My cats won't even stay in the bed with me, 'cause I'm coughing too much. Honestly, I don't blame them.

Oh, Jamie! The last thing you need is a cough/cold right now!! My MIL makes the BEST chicken soup in the world! (Great grandma's recipe, handed down through the generations...) I'll send you some of her cyber-soup right away!!

Deb, you cracked me up!!

My DH snores like a buzz saw (just regular snoring, no apnea that we know of). More than once I've picked up my pillow and whacked him with it (not hard enough to do any damage, just hard enough to make him snort and roll over)! Now I understand why some married people sleep in separate beds!!
Smiler

Fingers Crossed for all of you out there...I sure hope you'll have a good night tonight! (Migraine-free and full of fun!)

DH and I have separate covers- I steal covers and wrap myself in them like a burrito. I also like multiple covers, adn have 2 for myself- whereas he can barely deal with one.

I have multiple pillows and multiple covers...I'm such a sleep diva!

Oh, and that chicken soup sounds absolutely fabulous! Yum!

I hope everything begins to work out for the sleep issues, Deb. I have a cat that snores, she wakes me up on occasion. I'm sure it's not the same, though, lol...I don't know what I'd do if my husband snored. Sometimes we both snore, depending on sinuses, but see-sawing would drive me out of the house!

Today I got up early to visit with the OB and talk about birth control. She's very worried about the migraines I had last month so she wants me to talk my specialist into letting me get an IUD since we're talking about not having kids for a long time now, if ever. She does not want me on estrogen, period. Either way, come September, I will be knocking down her door to swap birth controls. I can't handle the menstrual migraines anymore. Either he's going to have to help me soon, or I am going to have to withdraw from the study. I have until March to endure the cycles, and we'll negotiate on zero hour.

I also developed a migraine as soon as I got up (didn't sleep the time I needed to), but I killed it with the triptans and a short nap after my appointment. Then my husband took a half day, and we had lunch with my mom, and went shopping. I treated myself to a new purse, some new shoes, and some new books. Smiler

All in all, not a bad day, but I'll be dreaming of IUDs for a loooooooooong time.

I've had a much better day today, overall. Cutting out that iron in the a.m. seems to help some, I think.

I woke up a bit wonky this morning. Apparently as I burrowed into my mass of pillows last night, my neck zigged when the rest of me zagged, and I "stuck" there. So I've had a dang crick in my neck and shoulder all day. This morning I got the impression it might morph into a beastie, so I figured I'd better do a bit more than just let it be.

Since we don't know if I have a bleed or anything, I didn't want to take aspirin. I also didn't want to take Lortab, since I didn't want it to encourage any flaring from any gut effects from the iron. So I did the muscle relaxant route. It did help me be much better able to move my head, but it was zapping. I'm still a bit tired. But I'm not floating along, and I can actually think. So it's all good. Smiler

Hope all the urpy, dribbly offspring in yesterday's thread are feeling much better today.
