Happy Friday aka Report Card Day!!

I woke up pain free today! Thank Goodness, I was so frustrated the last two days, but, they passed and I survived as I always do Wink

Actually, I don't have to much for today. I will be coloring my hair..rotten grays are popping up and making babies way to fast for me!

Then some phone calls to the school transportation dept. My son's bus driver thought it would be a good thing to tap a kid with the school bus because the kid wouldn't move and made an obscene gesture at the driver when he honked. Then to top it off, the kid jumped on top of the hood and made the gesture again so the driver crept up and then slammed on the brakes sending the kid off the hood and the kids on the bus falling forward because by now they are all standing, nice huh? This was over a week ago and no one will return my calls after my complaint and at least six other parents. Thankfully, it is all on tape. But, the driver is still driving my son!

Then a call to the auto insurance company because my son PASSED his driver's license test!! He tricked me too, he came in looking all sad and said he would pay for the retest and then went into this long story about what he did wrong blah, blah blah...then, after about 30 minutes, he let us know he passed LOL

Sollie-great to hear from you! All my best at the dentist office. I just sat in the chair for four hours the other day...ick!

Eileen-I wish you could go home and get some rest! Did you at least get some decent sleep?

Oh, if the roads were not a sheet of ice, I would go home! I am kinda stuck here for the time being. Accidents all over the place, so I'm staying put for now.

Morning all -

I'm on my 2nd cup of tea - was off to my early a.m. business meeting this morning.

Sollie good to hear from you and good luck with the dentist - i know this has been a hard time to go through but you are not a burden - thanks for letting us know how you are. Here's a get well soon Flower.

Laura you keep after that transportation dept! We had a driver fired a few years back who used to tear past the stop at 45 mph (on a 25 mph road) when the kids were walking up to the stop but not just standing there waiting, then slam on the brakes just past the stop when we waved & yelled - and she talked on her hand-held cell phone while driving! Hair Raising Anyway, it took a bunch of parents and a lot of persistence, but she was fired!

Eileen isn't this weather awful? It's pouring freezing rain right now. Gack! I hope you feel better.

I'm okay today - a little sleepy - Danny snored lightly all night - melatonin helped me sleep through it, and it wasn't loud like sometimes, just constant. I had all these weird dreams about trying to sleep in Grand Central Station which was full of snoring people! Woke up feeling like... I'd been trying to sleep in Grand Central Station full of snoring people! Roll Eyes

We've got Danny's aunt & uncle coming to visit tomorrow, staying til Tuesday. House not too bad but I'll want to do some straightening. I didn't go to the guest room to sleep last night because I'd already made up the bed in there with clean sheets! LOL Silly, sleep is more important but I don't think straight in the middle of the night.

Anyway, I really have to pace myself today. Resist the temptation to cram everything into Friday that I think I should have done this week... choose my battles - um - tasks! Chiro at 4 should help end the week on a relaxed note.

Have a great Friday everyone! Feel well!

- Megs

Wow, Laura, good luck dealing with your son's bus driver.

Those who needed to navigate in the snow, I hope you were able to do so, and reached your destination safely.

I am taking the day off due to the heavy snow. No one's life is in danger if I don't go, and so I will just take a vacation day.

Everyone take care and have a pain-free day.

Well, I called and talked to the supervisor of the driver. Not much to report aside from being blown off. The driver denied everything and the tape hasn't been reviewed because he doesn't have it yet. I offered to find it for him but he said that was ok; so, I did it anyway. The VP of the school had no idea why the tape was on her desk so now it is being sent to the supervisor. Gripe, gripe and more gripe. Needless to say, I'm not even close to done with this!

Megs-I think my DH are all the trains put together at Grand Central!

Snow day!

Kath is still sick - I feel so bad for her, she's really miserable. I'm ok, throat is still a little sore. When I feel something coming on I take a big teaspoon full of minced garlic, I swear it works.

Nikoli has already been out in the snow.

Sollie, good to see you, thanks for starting today's thread.

Eileen, be careful on the ice.

Laura - OMG about your son's bus driver. What a jerk!

I ruined last night's soup, it was too salty. I used a salt I haven't used before. Dh likes it so I saved it for him. We went out to eat last night.

Not much ahead for today with a sick kid and over 8 inches of snow. Oh, cleaning - yeah, yuck.

Morning all! We're not having any snow down here in the lowlands, but Snoqualmie Pass is still closed! They've had over 5 feet of snow in the past 5 days, and since it's heavy, wet snow they've been having a lot of problems with avalanches! Glad I'm not trying to get to eastern WA any time soon.

If you didn't see my post in the Faith folder, DBF had his colonoscopy yesterday and is doing fine. The doc didn't find anything major - a few abnormalities but nothing serious, and nothing that he expects will become serious. He recommended DBF eat a high fiber diet. We're both very relieved that's all it is.

My mom is in town through Monday. I think she'll be painting our master bedroom this weekend. She's already made new pillowcases for two of our big bedroom pillows. She also brought me a new knitting book which I'm excited to look through.

My head is ok today. Pain isn't too bad; hope it stays that way. Nausea/vertigo aren't great though.

Sollie, good luck at the dentist today! We're all thinking of you.
Eileen, hope the roads clear up soon so you can get home.
Laura, that is just awful about the bus driver. Don't give up on the complaint!!
Megs, I know what you mean about not thinking clearly in the middle of the night - I'm the same way!
Nut, hope you enjoy your day away from work.
Deb, hope you and Kath start feeling much better, and soon!

Everyone, have a wonderful Friday! Heart

Snow Day Thumbs Up and another headache/migraine Thumbs Down

I am so glad I do not have to go to school today, I most likely wouldn't even if it was open. Too much snow, and too many problems because of it.

And I do not know what to do, I would like to go on my bike, but then it's possible the migraine would get much worse. I can't study because my head doesn't work. I think I will make some food and take a long bath (not too hot or not too cold, and no strong smelling bath stuff because my migraine would get worse). Is there something that doesn't make it worse?

hi all,

Aside from my headache speicalist appt yesterday (wrote about it in Support Folder), snow is the big news here. We got almost a foot! Poor Knightley. DH only got a chance to shovel the driveway and no chance to shovel a path to the grass (we have a 3 tiered deck). So, he's been climbing all over the snow.

I'm dealing with side effects from new preventative already. Plus, menstual migraining today so tried the Frova and even more side effects. Trying to figure out which is from which. But, the Frova seems to be helping! Smiler!

I'm a little discombobulated in the brain today cause of these side effects, so I'm just gonna send you all group hugs!

Hello, all you wonderful human beans! Smiler

Sollie ~ I'm sorry that evil tooth is still messing with you. Hopefully they can fix things today, and you'll end up much better in every way. I agree with everybuddy else, though. You are absolutely not a burden, and I very much believe Dave doesn't think you are, either. It's very obvious to all of us here that you two were made for each other. You complement each other so well, Sollie. You just go and take back that bit about Dave deserving someone more than you! I know you're his everything, and I also know in my heart that he would never trade you.

Eileen ~ I hope your beastie got an attitude adjustment and vacated.

Laura ~ Oh, but that bus driver needs to be relieved of his duties, pronto. I think it's ludicrous that nothing has been done about the situation. Not that the kid involved shouldn't be held accountable for his actions, but the driver was beyond reckless. He could've seriously injured or even killed that kid. He may have had every right to be irritated by the kid, but what he did in response is inexcusable. I'd be livid.

Megs ~ I hope everything goes smoothly with your company.

Deb ~ Big hugs to you and Kath. Hope you're both over whatever ick you picked up very soon.

MJ ~ Have a great weekend with your mom!

Eva ~ There's nothing quite like trying to study around a beastie. Ugh. I hope you're better soon.

Dar ~ Take care of you!

Kelly ~ What's up with all the snow? We've actually had nicer days here the last couple of them, and we're finally getting some serious meltage goin' on. That makes me happy. I hate the snow, and more specifically, the ice!

As for me, just a kind of fuzzy day. I woke up kind of strangely, with my alarm sounding fainter than it really is, and not feeling overly coherant. I've not been able to tell what's going in with it all. It's like I'm half asleep, but I'm not. It's also kind of like I might have a headache, but yet it's not. I just can't pin it down. It might be the weather shift. I can't tell if I feel just groggy, or if it's something else. Annoying, it is. It's probably just carryover from fighting the cold off and being particularly busy all week at school. Maybe I'm just trying to reset on less than stellar reserves.

Okay. I'm fried. But now that tingling around my eye socket is settling in. Methinks all the vague tired fuzzies were a prodrome thing. Methinks, too, that my posts are starting to take on a rambling, meandering quality. Time to pack it in.

I *think* I read most of the *new* posts, though I don't know that I absorbed a lot of them. If I missed anything, I'll try and read over things tomorrow.

Have a good night, all! Smiler
