Morning gang,
I woke up feeling kinda blah this morning. I took an Axert because my noggin has that one-sided slight pain that can easily turn into something worse. We shall see how it goes. DH wants me back in bed to get some rest and I think I may agree with him before to long. Maybe once the kids are gone and he is off to work I'll lay back down. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today!! Laura Forum Moderator ***You're welcome to enter your birthday, etc in the Celebrate folder so we can party with you!! =) *** |

Must be something in the East Coast air.... I woke the same way
GO BACK TO BED LAURA!!! Woke all headachy this morning... I slept an hour later than usual. I am trying shifting my schedule to an hour later than normal to see if getting some extra sleep helps the migrianes. Not feeling great about working today. Actually not feeling to great about anything today, but that will surely end up in our gripes folder later. On the upside, I got an Rx for Treximet, that new triptan. It's only going to cost me $25 b/c my PCP hooked me up with a coupon. Though I'll admit I don't have high hopes for it because it has the same triptan as Imitrex, which my body really isn't a big fan of. But I'll keep you guys posted. Hope everyone has a good day. |

Good Morning,
Yeah, I've got an achy head. I stopped my OTC allergy medication as it seemed like the majority of pollens were done for now. I'll see how that goes, may have to re-think that. But I would rather just stay home today. We've got a herd of big wigs running through the office the next few days. Today being the company president/ceo. I really have to 1) do my hair AND wear make up 2) behave. It's not that I am some disruptive presense in the office. I'm not. But I must keep the very professional persona on. It's alot of work. I don't have to do it often these days. At least I have dinner all ready for tonight. I've got a 6 pm therapist appointment. Piper will just have to pop it in the oven to warm and we can sit down to a nice dinner. While it's work to be organized, it does pay off!! Ok, time to get ready. I hope everyone's day starts going a bit better, or at least the drugs kick in. We at least deserve better living through chemistry. Take care everyone. Cindy |

Good morning.
Laura and Kat, I'm sorry you two aren't feeling well this. I hope your meds and sleep will help. I'm still a little sleepy this morning. I went to bed early last night. I'm trying to catch up on my missed sleep due to the trip from last weekend. It was worth it, though. I think everyone had a lot of fun. I think my preventatives are working for me. Shh, I'll try not to say this too loud, but it's been 10 days since I've had a migriane. We even had storms in the forecast today which have always triggered a migraine for me. So far, so good. I'm up to 50 mg of Topamax in the morning and 200 mg in the evening. And, I'm also taking 10 mg of Namenda in the morning and at night. I hope everyone had a good day. Talk to you later. |

Good Morning Everyone--
I started my post then realized it's definitely a rant, so am moving it over there. I've been big time sick since last Thursday. This is the first day I've actually felt like a human being. Of course, since I'm taking 40mg of Prednisone at the moment, I'm surviving on 3 hours of sleep, and the new albuterol inhaler makes me shaky--but guess what I can breathe. Sounds like most everyone had a good mother's day. Heather--I'm so glad you don't have sleep apnea. I do, and on top of that have a severe insomnia issue. I have tried CPAP 3 times, because Dr. Wonderful is just sure it will help my migraines (I'm sure it probably would). However, after spending almost $2000 of my own money on clinical hypnosis with a psychiatrist who I know has had great success with hypnosis for pain relief and did help me learn to use self hypnosis to tolerate at least some of the pain of my migraines, I still can't handle the CPAP. "We really ought to try CPAP again. I have another idea" is pretty much Dr. Wonderful's main flaw! Ain't gonna happen--I'm done getting migraines from no sleep due to CPAP machines! Cindy--Sorry you have to spiff for the bigwigs. I have to hand it to my own personal bigwig, my district manager. He was great on Thursday. I was supposed to work so my supervisor could get a 4 day vacation which she really needed. She ended up having to come in and work from 4-6 (my schedule would have been 3-10). Then the boss showed up, relieved her, and closed the store. I knew when I met him originally he seemed like someone you could work for but that's having your back!! I hope the weather et al stays away from everybody's heads today. I'm going to call Dr. W. and see if I can take some alprazolam or something to get a little sleep. With that much prednisone on board I doubt that a tornado going by could trigger a migraine on me. Weather says tstorms are likely but I don't want to tempt that particular headache. Everybody have a good day. Tracie |

Howdy!
Wow! I've got the blahs, too, along with Laura, Kat, and Cindy, and the sleepies along with Heather. I rescheduled my noon massage therapist appt to tomorrow. Woke with somewhere between a 3 and a 4. Took my Skelaxin, will start in on Imitrex and naproxen if it's not better soon. Heather -- 10 days!!! Congrats! May it continue! Cindy -- I hope you have success "being hayve" with the bigwigs there. BTW, what's more bigwig than President/CEO? Chairman of the Board? Patron Saint? Tracie -- I'm so sorry the CPAP won't work for you. It's been my DH's lifesaver. I think I'm going to take my Imitrex cocktail and head back to bed. Gretchen in Mississippi |

Hi gang -
Sorry so many are feeling badly today. I slept really poorly, but finally got some very solid sleep the last couple of hours in the morning. Adam had a field trip today; he had to be at school at 6:30 for it. Danny, bless him, got up with him at 5:40 I finally got the complete scoop from D on his interview last week. It was with an HR guy, and it sounds like there are at least 3 solid possibilities for him there. D has a lot of follow up work to do this week and actual applications to get in. This would be a terrific place for him to work & close to home, unbelievably good benefits, so Tracie I really hope everything settles down and you feel better. I hope you find a way to get some sleep. Gretchen, Cindy, Kat & laura, take care of your heads! I hope you all feel better. Heather congrats on the 10 days! That's great news! I'm off to shower & then rest up from that huge exertion. I've got some pressure in my left temple myself. It's gorgeous out, would love to take a gentle walk but I dont' know if I'm ready for it yet. - megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Hi all -
I am super tired today! Out way too late, past my bedtime - but the concert was worth it!!! We had a great time. Now, I am just tired. I have about a 2 going on right now on my right side. Probably from the thumpa thumpa of the bass last night. I'm debating on Frova. I already downed a Skelaxin. I think sleep is really what I need. Hope everyone is enjoying their day! Here in NJ it is much improved from yesterday!! Yeah, so I ended up taking a Frova at like 10:40 or so. I said to my self..."self, you'd rather be safe then sorry"
And boy I took it right in time!! My little "2" ramped up quickly to like a 4/5!!! I'm still waiting for Frova Power to take effect, but I think it's starting to kick in. Needless to say, I have just been sitting at my desk now being unproductive....like what else is new! LOL Nausea - great! Thank god for waste baskets!! Well, it should be kicking in soon. Horray! Good Morning Again,
Oh Gretchen, you make me laugh,
I don't believe publicly traded companies are allowed patron saints, just a guess. And he may be our COB for all I know. I'm not good at keeping up on those things. I feel really spacy this morning. Maybe more food. Eileen I would have loved to have heard your conversation with yourself. It would have been priceless. Take it easy today Megs, you still sound like you are a bit under the weather so to speak. Tracie at least the stuff they are giving you for your ick are covering migraines too with the weather you have coming through. There has to be something positive in all the stuff you're taking. Kat and Laura I hope you are doing better by now. I did want to share that my DD Piper made a monumental decision yesterday. Her boat made Nationals. Which is so great. The nasty part is it's the same weekend as her graduation. She had to decide which to do. She could not do both. The other 3 seniors in the boat had decide to go to Cincinati. She was the only one who had not made a decision yet. She decided to go with the boat to Cincinati. She decided you just don't get that many opportunities to be a National anything and she wants that chance. Her dad and I couldn't help her. We were will to support either decision and could understand either one she made. I'm so proud of her though. She seems very happy with her choice. Her team of course is thrilled. Take care everyone. Hello,
I saw a post about Treximet the new Triptan. I was using the Zoming Nasal spray for a few years until March it worked good. Since March I had a really bad migraine and my doctor changed me to the new one Treximet and it seems to be working good. I get relief pretty quick. Yesterday I was having an awful migraine and I use the Treximet and it worked within the hour so that was great. I wish you good luck with Treximet. Take Care Laraine |

Good day everyone.
I spent most of yesterday shopping and doing laundry to get ready for our trip to Tenneessee. Kath had to finish the laundry - I had a migraine on both sides last night. I suspect my aunt's death may have something to do with it. Since it's about a four hour drive down there, I got water bottles for us and some snacks, pretzels and crackers. I told Kath about the water and pretzels and she says, "What? Am I on a desert island? Pretzels with WATER?" So I said, "Well, we have crackers too." "Crackers and water? Still on that island!" She's funny. This is my last post today - time to get everything in one place so we don't forget a thing tomorrow. I can see getting down there without my good shoes or something. |

Well, I took my Imitirex, slept for a couple of hours, and feel the crummiest I've felt in a good while. Can't decide what to do. May watch daytime TV! UGH!
DH's Big Meeting in Atlanta got changed from tomorrow until sometime in June. That gives them more time to prepare, but it also means several more weeks fretting about it. At least he won't have to fly in the rain. And DS's grades stunk. Something has to change. He's capable of much more than a 2.1. Thanks for listening to the whine. Gretchen in Mississippi |
