Good morning! Sunny and quite windy here in NJ this morning. I just read that over 13,000 people are still without power in the state, so I'm grateful ours is on - and that we had heat over night! It's quite cold out. I'm hoping Eileen, and Lori, and Kat, and whoever else I'm missing... all our NJ forum folks are okay.
Reminding everyone to set your clocks forward if you haven't already. I'm looking forward to those longer light evenings, tho the dark mornings not so much. Fun filled day of grocery shopping and laundry ahead - got a lot of clean-up done yesterday. I also will take some good forum time - so many threads I didn't get to in this past busy week. I'm feeling good today - no head signs - no fatigue. Hope everyone is feeling well and that storms are leaving you alone. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Morning,
Glad you made it through the night with power Megs. At least the wind will blow the gunk out of the air and at some point you'll have nice clear skys. It's clear and pretty here this morning. The cats and I have not made it out of bed. The birds were at the shrubs outside my window this morning gorging themselves on red berries. So cute to watch. The cats clearly too lazy to catch their own breakfast. Kids stayed at their dad's last night. They helped (as in paid help) with a party they had. Too late to drive the 3 miles home. It's so nice and quiet here. I hope you all are feeling well this morning. I snuck a glass of wine in with dinner last night and it tried sneaking in migraine. Took an imitrex with DS called at some point to tell me he wasn't coming home, so I feel fine today. The depokote is working. So far no side effects Take care Cindy |

Good morning Megs and Cindy (and the rest of you out there, too!),
It's COOLLDDD here!! I haven't even looked at the weather report to see just how cold it is...I noticed the temperature change as soon as I crawled out of bed this morning!!! Megs, I sure am glad you had power and heat last night! Enjoy your shopping and laundry today! Cindy, I'm glad to hear your Imitrex worked. And that the Depakote is doing its job! Be positive! You won't have any side effects--we don't allow them here!! My son is in a rotten mood this morning. He's been stomping around and hollering at everyone since he woke up this morning. He's already been in his room twice for time out. He's only 7 but he often thinks he's smarter than his Dad and I are. Gee, I can't wait til he's a teenager... We're hiding out from the cold right now. Have a birthday party for my nephew to attend later. It's always a very loud, crazy time at their house...I sure am glad my nerve block is working so well!! Have a happy Sunday, everybuddy! |

Good Morning Everybody
Being Texas it's not exactly cold this morning, just windy as usual. We had a new front come in today which explains yesterdays headache. The husband is going thru a cluster episode--had 2 headaches last night about 6 hours apart, kinda unusual for him. It'd be nice if I could get him to the doctor early in the pattern, especially when the preventive isn't working well. Otherwise, I feel great! It's so good not to be in pain in my shoulder after the surgery. Plan to do laundry today, and clean up the messy living and dining rooms. Will see the 20 month old grandson tonight. Everyone have a great day--all you guys stuck in all that nasty snow, hope you have power and can stay warm and safe. tracie |

Hi everyone,
I finally think I kicked my migraine out last night around 1:30ish. I have a little pain today, so hopefully it will stay away. I am going to talk to my PCP this week about getting a rescue med for pain and for nausea. I have never taking any other then over the counter meds because my head pain never really got that bad. However, this weekend it as so bad and the abortive would not kick in. Nothing would touch it. Also, the vomiting got so bad I pulled out muscles in my stomach area. So, basically, I am a mess today, but my head is okay and that is GREAT with me Megs-Thanks for the links last night. I am glad you have power and your head is clear YAHOO! Cindy-That is so super that the depokote is working!!!! Jenny-Have fun at the birthday party! Tracie-Have a great time playing with your grandson. How fun!! All my buddies back east-Hope the storm was not that bad for you and you have power!!! Hope to hear from you soon |

Arg, daylight savings time. It's not even morning here anymore. So afternoon all!
This has not been a good head week for me, not at all. I'm finally feeling a little bit better today though. Yesterday I spent the whole day in pjs on the couch. My head pain wasn't awful, but the nausea and vertigo were pretty bad, and my stomach was definitely not happy. I didn't even feel well enough to read or knit. Just watched a lot of tv. Took a nap curled up with DBF on the couch. I've been feeling pretty worn out, but I'm going to try to make it out of the apartment this weekend - I need to get to Target today. Even if that's all I do I'll consider it a success. The beastie is clawing at my right eye but that's nothing new. Megs, glad you made it through the storm with power. We used to lose power all the time with those storms. When my family still lived in NJ we could always tell when a storm front was coming through because our power would start to surge. Cindy, glad to hear the Depakote is working. I know what you mean about expecting horrible side effects. I feel the same way sometimes. I really try not to expect the worst because of the whole self-fulfilling prophesy thing but sometimes I feel like I get every side effect on the list, even ones I didn't think were possible! Jenny, hopefully your son gets over his rotten mood soon. Very glad to hear your nerve block is working so well! I never did make it over to your post yesterday since my head was acting up but I'm on my way there today. Tracie, glad to hear your shoulder is holding up so well. Hope your DH starts feeling better soon. Dar, glad that you finally beat down that beastie! Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I'm definitely going to be taking it easy today. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. Oh my word, do I hate daylight savings time. I don't care what time the sun rises or sets, but geez louise! Don't take away an hour of my sleep!
I have felt awful all day - powered through church and a little shopping with Kath, but then I slept for about 1 1/2 hours. A big no-no on my sleep hygiene but if the doctor felt as bad as I did, she would sleep that long, too! My muscles hurt and since the nap I can feel a bit of a migraine starting. Dh is at work today - they got a new bar code reader and he has to punch in 27X11 numbers. That's what he said. FYI, he's an engineer who right now is operations manager for a podietrist who has a huge line of foot care products, so that's what the bar code reader is for. He designs the insoles for the doctor plus jars and bottles for the liquid products and lables for all of them. Megs, glad you still have power. We've also had instances where we get it back and lose it again. You'd think for a city this big the power would be more reliable. Cindy, have good thoughts about the depakote! No side effects! Jenny, LOL about your son. Have fun at the party. Tracie, have fun with your grandson. What a fun age! Dar, I'm glad your head, at least, is better. MJ, yuck all around. I hope you make it to Target. Ok, I'm off to attempt one load of laundry (see, I tell myself, if I do one load a day, it won't be such a chore. Hah!) and clean the bathroom. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Daylight savings time needs to stop. Studies show it doesn't save energy or money. I'm letting it go now!
I had 2 good days but the beastie is back today. Yesterday my daughter came home for a visit and the whole family went to my son's gig last night. He is a drummer in a reggae band and their band is going on tour next month. It was the first time my daughter had seen the band. We went to dinner before at a new Italian place. It was great. They didn't start playing until 11:00 so we didn't get home until 2:00. There was a lot of smoke so I think that is what's driving my head crazy today. At 2:00, I had all three of my children home and everyone was snacking and talking. Since they are grown, I don't get them all together very often. It was a wonderful "mom" moment. I enjoyed having them all together for a little while. I may do some shopping with my daughter before she heads back home to her husband. She's meeting a friend for lunch and then we'll run to the mall briefly. Daylight savings time robbed us of a little time together though. Oh well. I took a relpax and am waiting for it to kick in. I hope it does so I can enjoy today. My son has another gig with a different band at a local coffee house today so my husband and I will probably go over there later. This band does Steely Dan music and I really like listening to this one. Take care everyone and here's hoping everyone has a painfree day. |

A belated hello from me. Got a migraine last night (before theater) but so far today it hasn't come back. We'll see.
It was SO windy here last night. We just about got blown away coming home from theater. Happy Sunday all. LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |
