Hi guys -

I think I had a "silent" migraine yesterday/last night. Felt spacey, light & sound sensitive, some vertigo, head pressure and tiny twinges of pain and I kept feeling like I was about to get real head pain but it never happened. A bit tired this morning but otherwise feeling well. It's another lovely spring day - a little chillier today.

I hope everyone's doing well. I have lots to do this week to get set up for some new business stuff. And clean up for some company coming over the weekend. I'm just planning to pace myself, rest a lot, and keep prioritizing. Yes, LauraSue, I'm planning to not overdo it! We all know I'm not great at that, but I'm trying. One step at a time.

Good Morning Everyone,

Nut we were writing at the same time!! Two great minds with but a thought!!

I've had a silent migraine once. It was very strange. Glad you didn't get the whole thing, but they are weird aren't they?

Well a fairly good nights sleep and a nice afternoon with DBF and I'm in a better mood than I was Saturday or Sunday. He swears he will be done some time this week. I sure hope so. I'd like to come back this coming weekend from Long Beach and get to see him the whole next week.

I found on Sunday as long as I followed shade around the yard and sat instead of bending over, I did ok gardending. It was 80+ here both days before noon and I was not handling the heat. It was making me pretty angry.

On Sunday after DBF went into work I spent time out on my patio working on my pots. They all need cleaned out and some plants added and bulbs taken out. Anyone need yellow freshia??? I like puttering in those alot. We all spend time on the patio. The kids like to study out there or read during the summer. I had it re-bricked a couple of years ago. It was one of best things I've done here.

We have higher ups in the office all week from the East Coast. So I have to behave and dress well. We're pretty causal in our office. No clients so why dress up? I need to get going. Doing hair and make up takes longer. Hair Raising But I do look oh so fetching.

Take care,

Cindy

I had a migraine both Saturday and Sunday. They weren't too bad. I have another migraine today, too. Since I've already taken my Zomig twice in a week, I can't take anything today. Today's migraine feels like it's gonna be bad. I'm at work but I don't know if I'll be able to make it through the day.

I think I'll call my neurologist and see if he can get me into the infusion center for a treatment.

I hope everyone has a good Monday.

As I posted last night, I have had a just awful time the past two nights. My mig came back for the 4th day Saturday about 7pm. Which meant I started a course of Medrol. Which meant I didn't sleep well that night. Which meant I woke up in a massive fibro flare Sunday, in such pain I could barely move. I was ready for DH to just shoot me now.

The fibro flare gradually lifted as the day went on, and the migraine did NOT come back yesterday. However, at 4:00 am I woke up with a hot flash, again at 5:05 am, again at 5:39 am (yes, I have a digital clock!). We usually sleep til 10am or so (DH goes in to work about noon), but this morning the phone rang at 8:30 am, at which point I realized:

I HAD A MORNING MIGRAINE!!! Mad Head Banging Skillet Thumbs Down Devil Crying

I don't often get them, but it's happened a few times before. I got up, took an Imitrex plus one of every other pill I thought might help LOL, went back to sleep for an hour and now feel relatively okay, finally.

Are we having fun yet??????

LauraSue.
(I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)

Wow we are a sorry bunch this weekend!!!

I hope everyone is feeling better today!!!

I had to go to my annual "girl doctor" today....oh the joy.

To top things off I had a couple things happening the last two nights which freaked me out.

1. nausea - Sat. night I could control it and did not get sick. No migraine - so this was strange.

2. nausea last night followed by a trip to the pocelain god at 1 a.m and again at 3 a.m.

Which made me start things HUH - I've been having strange food cravings lately which I thought were amitriptyline related....oh no!!! I CAN'T BE!!!

So when I went to the doctor today they did a urine dip to be sure, and I'm not pregnant - thank god!!!

She did say though that if this persists to call my regular dr. and have them check me out. This is very weird. I just get nauseas and then toss my cookies - no other symptoms at all....great! Now something new to be concerned with.

Anyway - at least now my mind is at ease that it's NOT that and I can hopefully sleep tonight. You know how once your brain starts thinking things then you can't get back to sleep? Yep that was me last night, well between that and the nausea.

OK well that is about it for now. I just had some oatmeal to at least eat something so I don't end up with a migraine from not eating. I already have slight TTH today - wonder why!?!

Hope you all are having a pain free day!! Group Hug

Hi everyone,

LauraSue and Eileen-Sounds like you both need some more rest. Zzzz'z Oh my goodness!! SS ladies, hope you both feel better soon Flower Eileen I hope you can find out what the nausea about!

Valerie-Great to see you popping in for some tea Big Grin

Heather-I have my fingers crossed for you that your neurologist can get you to the infusion center for treatment Fingers Crossed

Cindy-I know what you mean about the weather, it was really hot here this weekend. I took Zach to the pool yesterday and apparently forgot to put sunscreen on my kneecap, yep, it is burnt to a crisp Hair Raising Not only does it hurt a little, it look really silly LOL

Megs-Glad that you did not get the head pain, but silent migraines can be just as bad sometimes. Take it easy today.

As for me, I had a slight migraine yesterday, not bad, but there. Today, I have tons of paperwork to do. We have a water pipe that is leaking under the driveway that I have to deal with. Of course, Bill is gone until Thursday (things always break when he is gone). It is under warrenty, just a pain to get the plumber out here. Let alone if they have to dig up the driveway Hair Raising

Well, I got get to this pile that is on my desk. Ugggg

Howdy, girls! It's a quarter to two, and I'm a bit late.

We were out of town Saturday and Sunday. Sat. was an aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary party. Got to see a bunch of family. All the uncles and aunts on my FIL's side, many of their children, some cousins that I can't figure out how I'm related to. Nice party.

We had supper with DH's brother and his wife. Had a good visit. Spent the night in our usual hotel and came home yesterday, stopping at the Silver Star Casino for their Sunday buffet -- boiled shrimp, crab legs, fried catfish, and all kinds of stuff I didn't even see. The shrimp was delicious. DH played craps for about 90 minutes. The table was very cold, and nobody was making any money.

Nice trip. But the best thing is that my head didn't hurt either day! I'm amazed and SO pleased. Doing OK today, too.

All this Silent Migraine talk makes me nervous. I hope you're over all the silents and the screamers. Cindy -- I've got to tend to my potted plants, too. They need watering, and they haven't been fertilized yet. These are the hostas that come up every year.

Eileen -- so gad you're not p.g. My period was a few days late once, in law school. That was a terrifying time. Better to have had DS after I'd been practicing for 4 years.

Dar -- I chuckled at the burned kneecap. I've had streaks of sunburn before, when I missed spots.

I hope everyone's day goes well.

Megs ~ Silent migrianes are definitely odd little adventures. I've not had one in a long while, but I used to get them fairly often. I'm glad it's past for you. I'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't so great at slowing down when I've got Things To Do. TeriMom can attest. I am getting better at it, too, though.

Cindy ~ Good luck wowing those higher ups. But what kind of fun is behaving? Wink

Heather ~ I hope you manage to get in for that infusion and you break this beastie for good. I hope you're feeling much better soon.

Laura Sue ~ Group Hug I've had exactly one Medrol dose-pak, for plugged ears. I still shudder in rememberance of those few jittery, ugly days. It did help unplug my ears, so I supposed the end result was worth it, but all the same I am not signing up for that adventure again if I can at all help it. So sorry about the fibro flare, too. That's not at all fair! droolie demands a recount in your favor!

Eileen ~ I'm all for banning sudden bouts of random nausea. I'm rather tired of them myself, because once they pass (usually in about 15 minutes), they leave me zapped for the day. That's a lot of nuisance for something unproductive.

Dar ~ Sorry about that poor kneecap. Yowch!

Gretchen ~ Wahoo! Spiffy that you got your trip in unscathed by beasties!

As for me, technically today is a day off, though I did go in to school for a bit this morning. We're kicking around titles for next year's Battle of the Books (BOB) competition. For the rest of the afternoon, I've got forum time, a bit of reading time, and I've got to set the VCR for Bones, since we'll be at a borrrrriiingg meeting tonight. I already picked up my meds, including Midrin and Soma, both of which they managed to get with no problem. I should go pay an arm, a leg, and half of my spleen for gas, too. But that doesn't sound like much fun. I might wait until tomorrow after school. I think the middle grade is up to $3.40-something. Eeker

Hi All--

Finally got home from work. I'm glad I don't work Mondays except once every 3 weeks! Whew--at least it wasn't the first of the month! I'm sorry that so many have been feeling cruddy. I finished my medrol dosepak this morning. I really hate the sleeplessness but when I need one, it really makes a difference.

Eileen--I have lots of bouts of random nausea. I sometimes think the nausea is a little "migraine that doesn't". I often take benadryl IM for it, which believe it or not, actually works for me if the nausea isn't too bad. If it's worse I have to take Zofran.

Gretchen--so glad you had a good trip!!!

Man, I'm pooped. Think I wander around the forum a bit, then crash. At the moment we have no water. But DH went out to the well, and the pump just started up, so I guess he fixed it.
