Where are all you early risers? I'm here early for me, but sometimes this thread gets started at 6am.

It's raining today, but it's about moved out. We're going to northeast MS for a family funeral today, and we might be rain-free by the time we get there. That will be nice for the graveyard tomorrow.

The biggest problem has been figuring out what to do with the dog. We're just starting him on new pain meds [severe arthritis] and don't want to board him for too long. The vet's closed on the weekends, but they're going to let me meet them when they go in to feed and walk the dogs on Saturday. We didn't want him to have to spend the entire weekend in jail.

The judicial bribery scandal gets more and more scary. It looks like another judge and a former district attorney may go down, and now-retired Senator Trent Lott's name has been mentioned, too. Lott is the main defendant's brother-in-law.

Will see y'all on Saturday. Hope today is great!

I was here earlier but the forum wasn't working right.

SNOW DAY! Or should I say ice day. After I leave here I'm heading to our electric company's web site to see the power outages.

They didn't call off school until 6:30 - five more minutes and Kath would've left for the bus. That was cutting it close.

So we've all been up since six since I was planning to drive her to the stop. Kath is already taking a nap, and I tried, but, life with an ADHD kid whose meds haven't kicked in yet - oh well, I'll try later.

Warm, comforting soup for dinner, that's for sure.

Thank goodness she didn't get to the bus and wait and wait. That never goes over well.

We're watiting for the rain to start. Should start tonight whle my DD is in San Francisco driving by herself for the first time. I am just too excited over that. It will be fine. She has good directions. She is responsible. She has a cell phone (yes, this list is for me). I'd give her my car with GPS, but it's longer than her jeep and it would hurt more than help since she doesn't drive it very often.

Everyone have a great day. I hope your all feeling well.

We have ice here too. It pinged against the window all night long and is still going.

I would have just stayed home and worked from there but DH is working a temp kind of job right now and he doesn't get vacation or sick time. So if he doesn't show up, no pay check. Frowner So since we were digging out the car anyway I decided to ride with him as normal.

Once when I was in HS the power was out in the building but they didn't announce it via the TV in time . My dad went to drop us off and teachers came running out of the building to say that we couldn't go in cause there was no power.

Hope everyone has a good day and doesn't have too much trouble with the weather.

We are not due for the yucky weather until tomorrow, then who knows!

Some of the weather people say snow, some say rain, some ice. So I guess we will see.

I just want to be able to leave work early and get a jump on the weekend! Big Grin

Hey, hey, good morning!

It's my little guy's 13th B-day today and for some reason I woke up excited at 5:45 and couldn't get back to sleep. Excited, nervous, something. Hardly ever happens to me anymore. He was sure excited, but why me?

Deb I made some yummy white bean & escarole soup last night - we were supposed to have snow but didn't, but it's very cold. Sending you some virtual soup to warm you up in the ice storm!

Cindy if it was my DD driving in the city for the first time I'd sure be excited - in the nervous kind of way! Good luck to her and her mom!

Gretchen good luck finding a solution for Sparky - I hope you can get away without worrying, though sorry for the occasion!

Laurelin sounds like a chilly frustrating morning! Hope the ice doesn't cause any more trouble.

Eileen we'll be looking out for that snow (or whatever it turns out to be) together - just watch out for all those Jersey drivers on the road!

Got to run out for a few last minute birthday things and go pick up a used computer monitor someone's giving me. Other than that it's a desk day. Got a fair amount accomplished this morning. I'm just a little worried bec of not enough sleep last night. Fingers Crossed Hope you all feel well.

Heather's (DH's 20 y/o cousin who took her own life) obit notice was in the paper today. It's only 5 lines, so it didn't tell anything about her family. I didn't see the paper, but my mom did, and she asked whether that obit was our Heather before I could tell her about it.

Neck pain started while I was talking to her. Took my Skelaxin, but it's morphed into a scalp headache and is starting to morph more. I've maxed out on Imitrex and Anaprox for the week, but I'm going to declare an emergency and take them anyway. I need to be functional, not necessarily for the extended family, but for DH. I'll deal with rebound later.

Have a good rest of the day!

Good Morning Everyone,

Gretchen-You will be in my thoughts today Group Hug

Deb-Talk about cutting it close, good thing Kath didn't leave to walk to the bus!! Happy Snow Day!!

Cindy-You remind me of ME when Nicole drove her first long distance drive to visit a friend in College. I was on pins and needles until she got there!! Hair Raising Just remember to BREATH!! and keep repeating to yourself, she will be fine, she will be fine LOL

Laurelin-Stay safe...That ice can be dangerous!!!

Eileen-Hope you get to leave work early Big Grin

I have plans for lunch today with a friend. Then I have errands to run for Zach's sleepover tomorrow. So far, only 6 kids are coming!!(I am secretly excited that some can't make it LOL). My head is not cooperating this morning. I might have to pass up everything today and do a mad dash tomorrow. I will give it a few hours and see.

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!!

Gretchen you're right, it's an emergency, I'd take the extra medication too. It's a tough time for you and your family. Take care. I know my Nala would not enjoy doggy day care, Sparky probably won't either, but it may be best. The little darlings worry us more than the kids sometimes.

I've sent my DD off to Latin America for two summers and barely been able to hear from her, you think one evening in SF I could handle!

Ok, I'm going to heat up my neck wrap and get to work. I need to figure out future discharge dates and aging reports. I know, too exciting for words.

Oh, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. This morning I was able to send a friend a number of links from this site on various migraine issues. She has just started having them and she has found the inforamtion so clear and helpful. I'm nudging her to her doctor as well as I can. She doesn't nudge well. But I'll get there. Fortunately they are not frequent and the OTC migraine meds are ok for now. But the info from here has really helped her.

Take care and THANK YOU.

Morning all. Today has not been a great start so far but I'm hoping it gets better. I woke up with migraine pain on my left side (the wrong side) already at a 4. It calmed a bit as I got ready for work but it's creeping back up again. I think I'll have to take some Frova, which will max me out for the week.

I got into work late - I woke up at 8:45 and the cat was being fussy, going everywhere he shouldn't and generally being a nuisance. He's still recovering from being left alone for the weekend while DBF and I were on vacation. I left the apartment and was on my way to work when I realized I didn't have my promethazine with me (and was nauseous enough to take it), and discovered I had also left my phone and iPod home. Whoops. I've been in and out of meetings since I got to work, so I haven't eaten breakfast. Hopefully the Frova will head off a worse migraine this afternoon as it seems everything is going wrong today!

Strangely enough I'm in a good mood though - probably because the sun is out!!

Gretchen, I'm sending you and your family my best wishes. Heart Sometimes risking rebound is necessary - in your shoes I would do the same thing.

Deb, glad that you and Kath heard the school closing before Kath went to the bus.

Cindy, it sounds like you've done a good job with preparing your DD for her trip alone in SF. And I'm also very glad to hear this site has helped your friend. Hopefully she'll decide to see her doctor sooner rather than later.

Laurelin, hope you and DH don't have too many problems with your weather.

Eileen, I think we should start the weekend now! This has been a long week even though I was off on Monday. Thumbs Down

Megs, happy birthday to your son! 13 is a celebration for sure!

Dar, hope your head holds out and you survive the sleepover!

Everyone else, have a good Thursday. Group Hug

Oh, I forgot to mention - I dreamed last night that I finally got scheduled for Botox and went in for my specialist to do it. Of course I was disappointed when I woke up this morning and that was not the case! I'll be calling the scheduler again today since I haven't heard back yet. Roll Eyes

Yes, I agree with MJ -

as the offical weekend welcomer today - I say we all don't go to work tomorrow and take a day off!!!!!

(how many of you think we would still have jobs on Monday??? Confused Good Luck)

Yeah - I'll go in to work but my boss is afraid of snow - so if it starts tomorrow I can just go whenever.

I hope it starts early!! Fingers Crossed

Everyone is so busy it seems today. I am slow to get moving. I have horrible neck pain that is turning into a migraine and I can't take anything for it. So I slept in and didn't get in the shower until almost noon. I'll probably veg today, hoping to keep this migraine from getting worse than it already is.

My husband got back from Korea last night so he slept until noon too but for difference reasons. He mentioned going to get some lunch. I may attempt that. We'll see.

You know, that's been bugging me all day. I didn't hear it on TV or radio - I was calling the main district office because I was so ticked that school hadn't been cancelled yet and it was on their recording.

I may have to do some complaining - Kath said kids get to school earlier than she would've left for the bus. What do they do? The cancellation was just too last minute.

It sleeted all day, finally stopped around four. Both Kath and I have head pain, not sure if hers is a migraine, but mine is. I hope I find out sooner if there is no school tomorrow, like - TONIGHT!
