Happy Friday everyone,
I'm happy to report my migraine finally broke while I was sleeping last night. Hooray! I took a Naprelan this morning with my soda to help with my migraine hangover and it seems to be working, more hooray! I know this will come as a big shock but I'll be working in the dining room again. I'll refrain from boring you with details, just more primer being applied. You'd think as long as this project is taking me, the room was the size of my entire house LOL. Have a great Friday and I hope everyone is pain free today Laura Forum Moderator ***You're welcome to enter your birthday, etc in the Celebrate folder so we can party with you!! =) *** |

Yay for breaking migraines!!!!
I think mine is gone too!! Thank goodness!!! It was a long one! I am very tired today - probably from vicodin yesterday. I slept like the dead last night. Went to bed early to try and get rid of the nasty little monster that was playing in my head. It's raining here in NJ today. I'm happy though, could be part of the migraine breaking! Also good because it means the pollin will be a little better. Well that's about it for now! Hope everyone is having a great day! It's Friday! Yippee!!!! Happy Friday! That means I have loads of laundry from the week to tackle. I'm also going to watch my 8-year's class for an hour, so his teachers can go to a luncheon. The girls, of course, are coming with me, but with a classroom full of 8-year olds we should be able to keep a them out of trouble.
I'm taking a project for the kids to work on for their teacher--a surprise. It should be fun, although there will be paint and 20 children involved. I have a lingering 3 after a bad one yesterday. Perhaps it will continue to improve, despite the rain. Laura, I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better this morning--happy decorating. Eileen, I'm in total agreement about the pollen. Liz |

Good Morning Everyone,
So far we have a pretty chipper group going here. I need to get moving as I have a 7:30 am meeting. I guess that means I get to leave earlier and start the weekend!! Laura your dining room will be lovely when done. Somethings just take time in between coats of stuff to make it right. Sounds like you are doing it right. Eileen enjoy your rainy day cleaning out the air. I do love that too. We just don't get that very often out here when we need it. Liz, good luck. Twenty kids and paint. You are a very brave woman, or maybe crazy I had such a nice dinner last night with an old friend. I posted late in the tea room about it, but it was just so nice. I've not seen here is probably 7 years. Our children are the same ages. She is just a wonderful woman. The time just flew. I have a cat trying to help me type. Her soft little paws really don't help much, but it is cute. V. Sattui is the princess and is rather demanding in her attendtion needs, the most demanding of the three. Ok, I really do need to get moving I guess. Have a wonderful day and TGIF!!!! Cindy |

I'm up much earlier than normal today. Bob the cat came in around 5 and was very insistent that I wake up and scratch his ears. The Brandy the puppy needed to relieve her bladder around 6 . . . and so the party begins.
We had to take the puppy in to the vet yesterday. She was chewing on a stuck and cut the inside of her gum. It got infected and before we knew it, she had a huge knot on the side of her nose. So it antibiotics for everyone! The two older labs are on them for doggy pink eye and the puppy is on it for her gum infection. Geez! I've spent way too much time at the vet's lately! Don't have a lot planned today as of yet. I'm waiting to see how my head's fairing. This has been a rough week. I pretty much lost Monday through Wednesday to the beast. I'm hoping that is it for at least a day or two. Laura and Eileen, I'm glad you're migraines have broke too. Let's cross our fingers and hope the migraine fairy visits the other side of the world for a few days. Liz, I'm a first grade teacher . . . paint and 6/7 year olds . . . been there, done that. If you're organized and thorough with your directions, you'll be fine. You can always hold the threat of taking the paint away if they don't follow directions. Works like a charm. Cindy, I know how difficult it can be to type with animals around. I always have either a cat trying to sit on the laptop or a labrador trying to nudge my elbow to get petted. They're worse than children! Have a great Friday everyone! |

Hi gang -
Still sick & tired (of being sick & tired...), but I'm a little more alert today. I only feel truly awful if I get up. Pouring rain out, chilly - a good kind of day for lying around, I guess. I may even get some stuff done on the computer. Rachel had a glorious time at her performance last nite and came home very cheerful. That was nice for us all. I think she's actually not sick. Now this morning she slept through her alarm. Danny didn't get up since Adam is home sick and Rach has responsibility for getting herself up in the morning. She just told me she is missing an AP exam this morning! Cindy so glad you got to reconnect with your friend. Good luck with your meeting today! Liz I sure hope your head clears up the rest of the way! Eileen hooray on breaking that nasty one. I agree with you on the pollens - let them wash away! Laura congrats on your mig breaking too. You'll have to post a picture of that dining room when you're all done! - Megs |

Hi Hoops - Missed you there! I hope all your ailing doggies get better and your head stays clear for today!
Let's send the migraine fairy into outer space while we're out it - let her try to work her nasty magic on some space aliens for a change! - Megs |

Good morning, everyone!
I'm typing this while I'm seeing double, so please ignore the typos. I think the seeing double, which is usually followed by a bout of falling-down dizziness, is a migraine thing, and I've taken a dose of Imitrex. That worked once in the past, when I got falling-down dizzy at DH's favorite aunt's funeral. I had to tee-tee while I was still dizzy, and it was hard to keep from falling off the potty. We'll see what the Imitrex does. Spent the afternoon and evening yesterday with DS's girlfriend of two years (or something like that). She's selling Cutco knives and pots and pans. I needed new knives, and I bought a set from her, and they're very nice, even though they were expensive. She's not very serious about it and is going to quit when summer school starts. She graduates from college with a BA in Psychology from our fine liberal arts school tomorrow, but she's decided to become an X-ray tech, which is a 2-year program. There's a bit of cluelessness in her that bothers me, but we had a lovely afternoon. Laura -- I hope you get over your migraine hangover soon. Good luck with the dining room! Eileen -- I hope the rain helps. We get tons of pollen when th3 pine trees and the oaks bloom. Liz -- Bless you for helping at school. They'll have fun making a surprise, expescially with paint. Cindy -- I'm sorry, but V. Sattui is an unussual name for a cat. Where'd it come from? We had lunch at that winery when we went to San Francisco 2 years ago for a trade show. We spent about 3 hours at the trade show and sight-seed with the rest of the group the rest of the week. Hoopsky -- Sparky was on antibiotics for a month for a bladder infection. At that time, he was taking his pills in peanut butter, and including his pain pills for his arthritis and his hydroxyzine for his allergies, he was taking a bunch. He's since started refusing the peanut butter, and it's hard to find something else. Megs-- Congrats on walking away from Rachel's problem with her AP exam. The double vision has started getting a little better as I type this. The Imitrex might be working. Happy day to all! Gretchen in Mississippi |

Yes V. Sattui is an unusual name. But I got her as a kitten after a day of wine tasting with two dear friends. V. Sattui was one of the wineries we went to. We decided after I picked her out, she needed a winey name, freemark (for freemark abbey), merlot, cabernet, abbey, etc. We call her Visa for short. She is an unusal cat, so the name suits her well.
We should all line our animals up together for thier meds. Nala is on meds 4 times a day for pain, 3 times a day for NSAID, and 2 times a day for a GI med. Then Hoops and the Labs and Sparky!! We should get deep discounts. My conference call is VERY boring. I have had 1 minute of iniput in 40 minutes. I assure you for me that is highly unusual. I can talk much more than that. But I do have to pay attention as every once in awhile they throw something in I need to answer. So I'm doing this, IM'ing a co-worker and reading e-mail. My brain must be faily clear this mornging even after my one big drink last night. Take care everyone, Cindy |

Good morning all!
Yesterday's beastite beat me pretty good, but taking a half day at work and a 3 hour nap helped. I had a really important test in school last night, and I didn't want to show up too much of a distaster. The test went REALLY well, I totally aced it, and now I am half way done with school! YAY!! I had a baby beastie this morning, but it never got past a 3 because I aborted right away. My vision is still a little blurry, but no head pain I am looking forward to this afternoon... going out with a girlfriend of mine to set her up with skincare and makeup. She recently lost a lot of weight and decided she wants to start taking better care of her skin and appearance too. I think while I am out I am going to buy myself a birthday present. Should be fun! Laura & Eileen: YAY for beating the beastie! I hope the trend lasts and you can have a good weekend! Liz: Good luck today, I think you're going to need it! Cindy: Glad you got to see your friend. I love reconnecting with people I haven't seen in a while... Your kitty sounds like my cat Fiona. I work from home and she is always trying to help me do my audits! lol... Hoops: Good luck with all the animals. I hope your dogs don't stuggle too much about taking thier medicine! I know giving my cats medicine is a full contact sport! lol.. Megan: Sorry you're still feeling icky. Take the day to lie and relax. To heck with getting work done! Watch TV! Take a Nap!! =) Feel better... Gwp: I hope the Imitrex works for you... A note about DS's girl.. I have a BA in psychology (graduated in 2001). I'm in cosmetology school now. Don't worry too much about a girl who doesn't have a clue what to do with her life at 22 I hope everyone has a great day and a pain free weekend. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all you moms out there! I don't know how you do it, and I hope your kids realize what you do (though I don't think anyone really gets it until they move out! lol) |

It's raining, again! Wednesday, Thursday, today, predicted for tomorrow and Sunday. We've been under a constant flood watch/warning since March. I can actually see the Mississippi when I take Nikoli to school - that hasn't happened in a while.
So, I was stuck running my errands that I put off till today because it wasn't supposed to rain. I'm soaked. And my dog is a wimp - doesnt' want to go outside when it's raining. So he stays cooped up in his kennel until we get a break in the rain. Well, then he's muddy. But inspiration hit yesterday! I just let him in and head him right down into the basement - unfinished basement. I leave him there until he's had a chance to walk the mud off. I'm usually not affected by cloudy weather (SAD) but this week, this past month, has been bad. I felt really down last night. And my aunt is back in the hospital (from her rehab). My cousin thinks she's giving up. That's not good. Laura and Eileen, glad you're feeling better. Liz, be afraid. Megs, is Nikoli old enough (10) for me to walk away from his problems? Probably not. I'm meeting with his teacher and school couselor next week; we're going to get a 504 plan in place. He brought home graded work yesterday and he still won't answer questions PQPA (we used to call it complete sentences). He refuses, he hates to write that much. I don't know how he's going to take notes in middle school, and middle school is big on organizing your projects on notecards. Sigh. Gretcheh, I hope you're right about the double vision being a migraine thing. Take care everyone. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Happy Friday Everyone!!
So far this morning has been busy, but good!! I had to put out some fires regarding the Music Man and scheduling. It makes me laugh, I call the parents regarding time and meals, send e-mails and they still call and ask, "What time does rehearsal go to" GEEZ!! Anyways, no big deal. I pretty pleased that I was able to get 45 of the 50 postition filled for volenteering. Today, I going to help make some props. But, I am more relaxed about everything, I realize I can't do it all. Other then that, I am excited because DH is coming home tonight. He has been gone for a week. I bought some NY steaks for dinner, since he has been living out of a hotel room. Nicole and my host student went to "She wants Revenage" concert last night and had a great time. I am sure Nicole will tell me more when she decides to wake up this morning. Kat-YAHOO on your test!!! Doesn't it feel great when you ace it!! Cindy-I love the name V. Sattui. Of course I love the wineries too LOL. Hope Nala doing better, give her a cuddle for me Gretchen-I am ss the beast has it's claws in you today. I hate the double vision and the dizzy. Sending you postive cyber vibes Liz-20 children...Paint...Hmmmm...You are a brave soul. Have a great messy time LOL Eileen-YAHOO!! The beast is gone!!! Hi-
I'm kinda up. Have a doctor's appt at 1:30. I just hope he doesn't decide that I have the flu or something. I swear this is the same thing I've been haveing--for the third time. It's been comeing about every 5-6 weeks. We've treated with 7 days of Levaquin 750 each time. Which seems to work. For 5 to 6 weeks. Then it blows up, 102 fever, bad cough, sick as a dog. (2nd time: no cough but xrayed pneumonia). I don't ever get sick like this. I might get the flu every 5 to 6 years but that's it. I have also been known to have a sinus infection but they don't make me feel that sick--just cause headaches. Will write more after I see the doctor. Tracie |

Gretchen, My mom gives her dog her pills in these things called "Pill Pockets." She gets them from her vet but I'm sure if you googled it you could find them. Her dog is a finicky poodle that won't each anything and she will eat these. They have a nice little hollowed out pocket to put the pills in. They smell really awful but I guess that covers up the pill smell. One place online that sells them is:
http://www.healthypets.com/dogpockets.html I don't have any trouble giving the labs meds. They would eat bricks if I let them. Labs eat anything. I put their pills in cheese or butter (yea, butter) and they don't even take the time to see what I'm giving them. They just swallow whatever whole. They're such labs! Kat, when I have to give my cats meds, it's another story. I have to literally shove it down their throats. I usually get scratches, growls, flesh wounds. I prefer liquids if possible and always ask the vet if that's a possibility before I get pills. They have pill pockets for cats I just found out. I would interested in seeing it they work for our finicky felines. Hoops |

Oh, Hoops, I can relate to giving pills to cats!! My late furbaby had to take a pill every day for the last year of her life. DH totally couldn't manage it, but I developed a technique pretty well. It was pretty funny, though!
Hey, everybody, I DIDN'T HAVE A MIGRAINE YESTERDAY!!!!!!!! YAY, me! No idea why or why not, but I'll take it. As a result, I feel so much better today. Actually have some energy, despite the icky rain that will probably cause a mig before the day is over. So I have a list of "Befores" -- things I want to get done today before the mig hits. I have finished one, updating my meds inventory. Not sure I'll get much else done since the day is slipping away from me here. But I played the piano!! Haven't felt like it much the past six months, but got inspired today. Didn't play long but really enjoyed it. I've been playing since I was 5. I play both classical and rock. I play for my own amusement mostly. Too shaky from the fibro to play for other people anymore. DH loves to hear me play no matter how well I do. He's such a sweetie, as I have said so many times. Have a great weekend everyone! LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |
