Good early morning!
Yep another early morning for me but that's because I was in bed by 11:00 last night and fell right to sleep. I love my Zanaflex!! I slept a solid five hours straight...I love my Zanaflex, did I say that already? LOL. Yesterday's Tea Room was jumping, it's great to see everyone so busy. I hope those of you who weren't feeling well are doing better today. Today and tomorrow are family days so I'm not sure how much I'll get done in the dining room. My forever project. I'm doing one wall burgandy (sp?) and the others a color called "soft kiss" it's close to a cream. Cool huh? I can't wait. The burgandy is the first color I'll paint so I can see progress. Good idea about taking a picture!! I think I'll do that in stages. Thanks! Have a wonderful day everyone!! Side note to Deb-I think we're finally going to see Iron Man today Laura Forum Moderator ***You're welcome to enter your birthday, etc in the Celebrate folder so we can party with you!! =) *** |

Hi all -
Laura burgundy & cream sounds lovely. Have fun with that! I was on my feet for a whole 20 minutes this morning! Woohoo! I think this flu is making its slow way away. My brother stopped in last night on his way to get my niece from college. Heavy rain and heavy traffic - he didn't make it in until almost 10. We had a nice little visit over tea before sleep. He's already gone this a.m. - 2 hours to drive, then loading all her stuff then driving 7 hours home - they'll stop over at my parents' tonight. We're sorry not to get to see our niece but nice to see my bro, even briefly. Well, not much excitement for me today. The heavy rain is over and it is misty and cool here in NJ, so far. Hope you all are feeling well. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Hi everyone
Megs- I'm so glad you're starting to feel better from your flu and were able to go see Rachel's performance! All that stress you've been under lately certainly hasn't helped your immune system. Hope you get some much needed rest and relaxation this weekend (In case I don't get a chance to post tomorrow!!) |

Good morning all--
I may live after all! Laura--Your dining room is going to be just gorgeous, I'm sure of it. We incorporated burgundy and cream into the kitchen and adjorning dining room in our new house that we built in 2004. I really love the color combinations. Makes that part of the house. I expecially love my burgundy sink in the kitchen! Megs--I'm so glad you're feeling better. Be sure and rest while you can, you don't need a recurrence. All the steriods the PA gave me made for a rough night, but I finally remembered the holding old pillow against your stomach when you're coughing trick, which has cut down on the coughing pain considerably. I think I feel some better today, but still don't feel particularly well. So Glad everybody so far has had good things to report. Take care All--Try to get a little rest. Tracie |

Good afternoon!
I'm doing pretty good this morning considering I had a mig last night. I even took a shower! As Meg said, Phew! And washed my hair and trimmed my toenails! I feel like I'm gradually getting back to the land of the living, after this six-month siege of almost daily migs. Not that they have lessened, but my new approach is really helping. I assume I'm going to get a mig every day and try to get as much done before the mig hits as I can. Unless we're going out in the evening (pretty rare these days), which means I rest in bed all day to postpone the mig til I make it out the door! Cool but sunny here. No special plans for the weekend. DH is going out tonight to hear a band, but it's a late show so he won't be leaving until after dinner. He is a huge rock music fan. We used to go to concerts together all the time. But about 10 years ago, when I started getting too tired to go, he asked if it would be okay if he sometimes went to a concert without me. I thought about it, and about all he does for me, and about how much higher his level of energy is that mine, and decided that if it made him happy and allowed me to conserve energy, why not?! So he's been going to clubs to hear all these new bands he loves for years now. He goes alone which he doesn't mind at all. Any unattached women at the shows are half his age so I don't have to worry about him straying! One cocktail waitress told him he reminded her of her father!! Talk about a buzz kill! LOL! Anyway, have a great weekend everyone! LauraSue. (I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) MENOPAUSE COUNTDOWN: |

Morning all! I'm here on my new laptop today! DBF and I ordered a new lap a couple of weeks ago, but when it came the keyboard was faulty so we had to send it for repairs pretty much immediately. We got it back yesterday - a whole week faster than they initially told us - so I'm excited! The one I was using before I had had since I started college in August 2001. Needless to say it was in pretty bad shape. This one actually works on our wireless network and doesn't crash every 15 minutes.
I leave on my trip back east on Monday night, so at the very least I need to do laundry and pack this weekend. I want to also get to the mall and see if I can pick up some slacks and shoes. I only have one pair of work slacks that fit now, and they need to be hemmed before I can wear them. Since I'm going to a 3-day conference, one pair of slacks is not enough! The hotel I'm staying at in Boston is right next to a mall and I'm getting there a day early, so if I don't have time or don't find anything here, I can shop there. (They also don't have the 8.9% sales tax on clothes that we have here.) I've gone down at least a pants size in the past few months, which is good, but since I haven't been feeling well enough to go shopping it means my pants situation is rather dire! I have plenty of skirts that fit, at least. I'd also like to pick up some shoes for the wedding I'm going to next weekend - I have a back-up pair, but I don't mind the excuse for new cute shoes. Laura, your dining room sounds like it will look great when it's done. Enjoy your weekend with your family. Megs, hope you feel well enough tonight to make it to Rachel's performance tonight. You sound a little more chipper, so that's encouraging! Valerie, hope you're enjoying your weekend! I have sleeping problems too that I have yet to solve. Tracie, hope those steroids do the trick and you start feeling better soon. LauraSue, glad your new approach is working for you. I'm glad your DH feels comfortable going to concerts by himself. I told DBF last weekend that I'm not going to be able to go see Iron Man or Speed Racer with him in the movie theatre - action movies are big migraine triggers for me if I see them in the theatre - so if he wanted to go with someone else I wouldn't be upset. He asked if he could go by himself, and I said of course he could. As long as he enjoys himself, why not? I'm going to browse around the forum a bit, and then start my laundry. I think I'll also do some pre-shopping online - go to the websites of the clothing/shoe stores I normally shop at and check out what they have so I know what I'm looking for before I go in. It's a good way I've found to conserve my limited energy. I can't afford to wear myself out this weekend, since I have a very busy week coming up. Hope everyone is doing well - have a great weekend! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ "What will you do, if it does not turn out how you expect?" "I do not know. LauraSue you make me laugh!
I don't think my greybeard gets that much attention either (he shaved the beard off actually, since it had so much gray in it!) - people used to think I was older than him but now it's the other way around - good for my ego! (We're exactly the same age - well he's 5 days older.) Good that your DH get out, and MJ's DBF too. Danny's been going out a bit with some guy friends lately - had hardly been out at all for ages - I think it's really important for him! But he's got Adam to take to super-hero movies, at least. MJ that "pre-shopping" is a brilliant idea! I'll try that next time I go. Have a good weekend and rest up for your trip! I just paid the bills. Yuck and double yuck. May end up with my first migraine of the week... what's that about stress NOT being a migraine trigger? LOL I'm heading for a cup of coffee and if that doesn't help I may go for the Imitrex. Val thanks for the good wishes and I hope you're feeling well! Tracie I'm glad you're halfway human. I had a long bath which felt great but I was totally wiped out afterwards. I'm going to Rachel's play tonight on the "sometimes you've just got to live your life" theory. Chances are I'll get a migraine, if I don't get one before. Chances are I'll feel really awful tomorrow. But I'm willing to pay the price. To see my bashful girl in a play is the best Mother's Day I could have. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Hello, everybuddy! It is I, the scaly wonder!
I'm not doing much. We spiffed up the kitchen and bathroom today and called it good for cleaning, since we're all still kind of wiped out from all the fooforah of this last week and the cool, rainy weather. Now I'm just trying to catch up a little bit in the forum. I probably won't be on long, and won't get to read a lot, but I want to get started at clawing away at the backlog, anyhoo. Hope you all have a great day, and a great weekend. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

Yea! I got my first coat of burgandy on the wall and it looks great, one more for today and I'll be happy. I admit, it really looks good in there. It makes such a difference! It's worth all the torment of tearing down the wallpaper. Hopefully, I'll have it all finished next weekend.
Valerie-Zanaflex has helped me sleep and therefore helps me with my migraines. I take 2 mgs three or four times during the day and then 8 mgs at bedtime. I can also take an extra dose or two if I have a migraine as long as I don't exceed 36 mgs in 24 hours. It has helped me reduce the severity of my migraines and how long they last. I used to get a migraine and be in bed for days at a time in a ton of pain, lately, it's been less than a day in bed and with not nearly as much agony. I still have set backs but nothing like before I started seeing Dr. Krusz. Zanaflex and Diamox are the only preventatives I'm on right now. The Diamox helps for migraines triggered by weather fronts. Plus, Diamox also makes me drowsy so I take it at bedtime 30 minutes before I take my Zanaflex. Megs-I'm glad your starting to be up and about! I hope you knock this flu once and for all. Tracie-I hope you start feeling better LauraSue-I'm just like your DH, I love rock and roll too! Woo Hoo! I'm going to try to see my all time favorite bands this summer: Disturbed and Slipknot, what a show that will be! MJ-Have a great trip-take it easy as much as possible Droolie-Big hugs to you and your family K, off to cook dinner and then paint some more! Hey if anybody's still up... (yeah, I know, you West-coasters are rolling your eyes!) - I made it to the play - it was great. They really did a good job and my little Rach looked fantastic - very small part, but she was on-stage a lot, and had to do some very formal dances which is not her strong suit - I was so proud of her. I was kvelling, as we say in Yiddish (kind of like bursting with pride). She had such a good time, too.
I did get a touch of migraine this afternoon - took Imitrex right away and seemed to knock it out. I love when I can vanquish the beast! Good night! - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |
