Good Morning,
It's bright, clear and 37 degree's here. No wonder the roses are blooming yet. Normally on Easter Sunday I can take pictures of the kids in front of my liac bush, well not this year. It and the roses are not yet blooming. Night time temps have been way too low yet. Terri I hope you are able to check in to day and you are doing well. Maybe at some point you can find out what the ER gave you if it has worked. I had to do that with my doctor one time. I didn't care what it was they gave me at the time. But it did work. I few weeks later when I was in for something else I asked and they told me. Your doctor should get a copy of the ER record of what was done, so he/she should know. I went for a neck and shoulder massage yesterday after work. This was at my neurlogist order (I love this woman). I had scheduled just a 1/2 hour appointment. The massage therapist worked for 50 minutes on my neck and shoulders. It was like breaking up concrete. She suggests I use alot of heat and this roller syrofoam thing until I see her again. Need to find the roller thing. Finally had to take some advil this morning it is so sore, but not rock like this morning. Yard work today and the market a bit later. Going to the ex's house for a combination Easter and his birthday dinner tomorrow. I make the rolls and his birthday cake. Yeah, I know, I have a weird extended family. The cake receipe is from my stepneice that is more like a daughter to me........You know the saying about you can choose your friends, but not your family? Well in my case I've done some family choosing too!! Good morning to you all, Cindy |

Hi Cindy -
Hard to believe it's the same temp here and in California! Have fun with you ex and family - it's not weird, it's great that you can have a continuing relationship that works! We're off to Rhode Island this afternoon. I'm still congested and my head still hurts today, way better than the past few days, definitely not migraine (yet I'm a little worried - down to 6 Imitrex doses and I can't get more until the 31st - normally that's okay but with this sinus/migraine thing going on I've been using more than usual. I'm not taking any today (also used it last 3 days so want to avoid MOH) - I took all my other stuff and I'm just trying to take it slow. Adam decided to make cupcakes yesterday (his first day of spring break), Danny made stew, and I'm cleaning up the kitchen! That's my day. With a 6 hour drive at the end of it. Hi Everybody--
Megs--If I could figure out a way to get them to go thru cyberspace I could send you and everybody else eggs. I love chickens, have 10 sweet hens, get between 9 and 10 eggs a day, so we always have eggs up for adoption. Some of them are already green, that's the way they come. Easter will be a big deal this year. The oldest DS is coming down today from Dallas and the 20 month old grandson will be huntin' eggs this year! Should be great fun!! Everybody have a wonderful, painfree Holiday weekend. Tracie |

No migraine yet today, which is a step in the right direction. If any of you noticed my ticker this week, I was getting slammed by hormonally-triggered migraines. I'll need to get with my neurologist and develop a plan to deal with this problem; it's irritating getting slammed for several days in a row every few weeks. Thank goodness I have effective abortives and rescue meds.
I need to get some cleaning done (who doesn't), pay some bills, and so forth. Tonight I'll go to the Easter Eve service at church. That's all that's on the agenda. Everyone else, keep feeling good if you already feel good, and feel better if you don't feel so great now. |

It's funny how each day seems to have a theme or a trend. I'm feeling SO MUCH better than last night. My migraine came back for a fourth day so I started a course of Medrol. That stuff sure is magic! No head pain this morning and... I have energy!! It's all artificial from the Medrol, but I'll take it. Going to see if I can get a shower in before it wears off. We do have theater tickets tonight, to a play that Mary Louise Parker is starring in. I just love her, so I really hope I feel well enough to go, even if my migraine does come back. But if the beastie bites again, and I feel really lousy, I won't go. My health and well-being is more important. Plus, I've seen her on stage twice before, once before she was even well-known! And in Angels in America on HBO and of course in Weed, even though I don't approve of the premise!
LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |

LauraSue, you're right, we do seem to have a trend here each day. I'm feeling slightly better than passable, so I'll take it. Felt pretty bad again last night. It seems like the combination of nortriptyline, Topamax and promethazine is giving me some mild tremors. I had them when I first started taking the prometh with the nortrip. I'll be talking to my doc about this on Monday. I have another nausea med I haven't tried yet, metoclopramide (generic for Reglan), so if I have the opportunity I'll try it this weekend.
I've been at the increased dose of Topamax for a few days now (75 mg) and so far so good. No effect on my head yet though. My Easter plans this weekend involve finding a solid dark chocolate bunny, putting it in a Ziploc bag and smashing it up with a hammer. It sounds funny (and violent) but it's somewhat of a tradition in my family. My mom always beats up Easter chocolate with a hammer, and there's nothing I love better than dark chocolate. We have a chocolatier here in town so DBF and I plan to check it out today if I'm feeling up to it. No big plans otherwise though. Cindy, it's been chilly up here too. We had some beautiful 60 degree weather here a few weeks ago and I want it back! Megs, enjoy your trip to RI. When my mom and I still lived in NJ, we used to drive up to MA to visit my sister, and that car trip always felt long, I think because most of it was through CT. Enjoy your weekend! Dar, glad you're feeling well today! Enjoy your Easter eggs and Easter service! Tracie, sounds like you have a fun weekend planned - enjoy it! Nut, I did notice your ticker had been reset a few times this week. Hope your turtle can get moving again. LauraSue, hope you are feeling well enough tonight to enjoy the play. Sounds like fun! Everyone, enjoy your Saturday! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. Not a lot going on here today.
It snowed last night, after starting out as rain. Since it's supposed to get up into the 50s today, and it's getting close, it's all melting nice and fast. It still could've waited, though, since I'm sure it cancelled all of the assorted easter egg hunts throughout the city. Spring snow is always so wet here, just short of slush. Hi, ladies! I'm so late today. Thanks for reading.
Today is what my grandfather used to call a "doubtless" day: Doubtless, the Lord could have made a prettier day, but doubtless, He didn't. 70 degrees, light breeze, not a cloud in the sky. I went with DH and Sparky to the dam to watch the fishermen. The fish were biting pretty well. Mike ate his Wendy's burger, I ate my salad, and the three of us ate french fries. And Sparky finished my salad. This dog is omnivorous. He'll eat just about anything. He gets his own glass of ice water, and he drank a lot of that. He took a long walk at the park after that. Yesterday started out pretty well, but eventually escalated to a 6-7. We ordered vegetarian pizza for Good Friday. I'm planning on going to Kroger in the morning, after 8 o'clock Mass. I don't have anything dressy enough for 10:30 Mass. Easter dinner at my mom's tonight. My hotel in Nashville is very close to the Baptist/Vanderbilt Medical Center complex, and the hotel caters to patients and their families. They have breakfast in the morning and a complimentary shuttle to doctors offices and nearby restaurants. They run the shuttle every 30 minutes, and when you're finished with your doctor, you call the shuttle and they come and get you. Really nice. They've got a discount for folks there for medical purposes. As bad as my migraines are, I feel very lucky there. At breakfast, I can hear conversations about being on the waiting list for a heart transplant and being there for a followup after a liver transplant. I feel like a wimp if we get to talking on the shuttle and I tell them I'm there for migraines. I'll try to be on time tomorrow. I hope the day is going well for everybody. Gretchen in Mississippi |

I really appreciate everyone's concern. I am doing much better today. Amazingly I had a hard time sleeping last night. I was worried I would wake up with a migraine due to lack of sleep but I didn't. Hallelujah.
I did laundry, packed my bags, returned my library books, and got my nails done. I leave for Omaha tomorrow morning (yes Easter). I am going to take a Frova when I finish this and one in the morning before I go to head off any pain . . . hopefully. I have a huge stash of relpax and frova for my trip. My mom is going to need me so I have to do everything I can to be in minimal pain to help her after her surgery. Everyone cross your fingers for me. I have to get through the next couple weeks, taking care of her and that is a big job! I will check in while I'm there and let you know what's up. She has a computer so I use it daily to keep up on life. I am going to a musician's party tonight up in the Idllywild Mountains. My husband and son are going to jam with some musicians at a guitar-maker's annual shindig. I wasn't sure I would be able to go but I am looking forward to it. I will have to pass on the wine though. There will be TONS of that but I will have to do pepsi or 7-up or something. I DO NOT want to chance a return. Cindy - I do monthly massages before my chiropractor appointments too because I have back and neck muscles that are usually knotted up like crazy. Now that I think of it, I just went Wednesday and this last migraine got really bad immediately following that . . . I wonder . . . Nutmeg - I hope you feel better and I hope the drive doesn't do you in. Justgreatful - I know how you feel when the pain is finally gone. IT'S WONDERFUL! I just wish we could have everyday feel like that. tracie - Have fun with the grandson. My daughter and her husband are talking about starting their family next year so maybe I'll get to share egg hunting with my grandbaby in a few years. nutcracker - I can understand the hormone thing. I just turned 50 so mine are all over the map. I don't think my ticker ever gets beyond 3 days! Laura - Have fun at the theater. I LOVE the theater. My daughter majored in musical theatre (though she doesn't do much with it now) and I miss going to all the shows with her or to the shows to see her in them. Max - I cracked up at your family Easter tradition. I have two grown sons at home (age 22 and 24) They would love that tradition. I might have to steal it. dragon - Snow . . . yuk. You must be tired of it by now. My mom lives in Omaha, Nebraska and they have had a lot too. I know she is sick of it. gwp - I laughed at your dog story. My labradors will eat anything too. They missed the memo about how they are carnivores. Take care everyone. |

I'm really late getting in here.
The kids and I really deep cleaned today. I'm glad we did, but I've got a bad migraine going. I pretty well spend the rest of the day resting. Even the coke slurpee didn't help. Hoopsky, I'm glad you're ok from your fall and feel good today. To all the others, I don't have the motivation to address all of you. Those that feel bad, I hope you feel better. Those that feel good, I'm happy for you. Have a good Easter. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Hi everyone!
Crummy day today. Yesterday was pretty rotten, too. Lousy migraine. Didn't respond to much of anything, but today I pulled out some Maxalt melts the doc gave me to try. It seems to have worked! Too tired to check in with all of you. Just know I love you all and am thinking of you! |

Hoopsky, feel free to steal it - there's something strangely satisfying about smashing up chocolate with a hammer! (Do make sure you put it in a Ziploc bag though or it goes everywhere.)

Just popping in for a quick hello.
Life has been a bit crazy the last few days. Spent some time with my mom today - we went to Benihanna - ok not sure if any of you have ever been to one, but extreemly over priced for Habachi. I've had better and cheaper. Oh well. We had fun though. Thats about it. Got our furnace serviced on Thursday before that broke to! LOL Trying the head things off at the pass now! Man was it dirty! The guy has to come back and redo some more duct work that is the wrong metal strenth and size. Awesome. I've come to realize the people who we bought this house from didn't give two pickles about the up keep. That's about it. I'm going to enjoy this coffee I'm drinking now and watch a movie with my husband. Oh, we watched No Country for Old Men last night - It was really good! Tonight we are going a little old school I think and watching Secretery with Maggie Gyllenhal (or how ever you spell it, too tired to check the box!) It's an Inie film but I hear she was really good in it. Ok, really - I'm outtie now. Happy Easter to all of you who won't be on tomorrow!!!!! Glad you're much better, Hoopsky. As for the snow, yep, I'm officially sick of it. But we've actually gotten away pretty well this winter, without a lot of it for the most part. As of right now, 98 percentish of the two inches we woke up to is completely melted and gone.
Right now the beastie is nibbling around my eye socket. I've had my Midrin and some supper, and have retreated down here to the puter, where it is quiet and nice and dark. Not that I need the dark. But I was craving the quiet. I rented movies a couple of nights ago, but so far have only watched Into the Wild, which was very well done. I read the book about it a couple of years ago. I also rented Across the Universe, Atonement, and some other movie I thought my mom might like, but haven't watched any of them yet. Maybe we'll watch one in a while, if my head isn't too fuzzy.
