Happy Monday everyone, I hope everyone is doing great today Smiler

I'll just be kicking around the house today with Paul and Leighann, my two sick kids. I decided to wait until tomorrow to take Paul to the doctor so I can monitor his pain level/cough for one more day. I also have his breathing exerciser from the hospital (whatver that thing is called) for him to keep using.

Leighann is just an unhappy camper because of her cold. So, she is in bed surrounded by blankets and stuffed animals. At least I think she is buried in there somewhere. I just need her ear exposed so I can take her temp. LOL.

Have a great day everybody!!

Ugh. I'm so super tired today. I thought I was coming down with something. We had DH's little sisters B-day yesterday.

Yeah, little kids all over - I thought maybe I picked something up from them. I couldn't sleep. Chills, hot, nausea......

Now I'm just exausted but feeling better, which is good, I guess. Except I'm at work.

Oh well. I'll go to bed early tonight. I can't even type straight I'm so tired! Great, I'm going to be real productive today! LOL

Hi folks -

Laura I'm Fingers Crossed for Paul's cough. I remember those breathing exerciser things from when I had surgery at 17 - I never would have blown the darn thing if it wasn't for my Mom bugging me to - so know you're doing a very important job (if you were in any doubt).

Eileen do take care of yourself. So sorry you're not feeling well. Group Hug to feel better.

Lori hope you're okay despite your overheated night. It seemed hot here too, after being chilly all day. Roll Eyes

So everybody was more cheerful by evening here yesterday. But... Adam goes out to play in the park with his friends after the sleep-over - snow on the ground and about 37 degrees out - and he's out for 3 hours in a sweatshirt, no gloves or hat. Still on antibiotics for the strep he had a week ago! Comes home chilled through and scared with it - shaking, etc. Mad Put him in a warm bath and gave him a stiff lecture. 13 year-old kid should be able to check the temperature outside and wear a coat, no? But with me laid up with the migraine and his Dad exhausted and not coping well, nobody saw how he went out.

So he's home again - was so exhausted this morning he's staggering, couldn't keep his eyes open. He may end up in summer school with all the days he's missing - but that's better than getting mono or something from being totally run-down. Grrr. Some days this parenting thing is one heck of a job....

Sorry to go on and on - I do feel better today, tho still rather post-dromy. Back at my desk and relieved to be out of bed. Hope you all have good days.

Heart Megs

Good morning friends!

Now, you all know getting sick is not fair!! Devil Migraines are enough! You and your families are not allowed to come down with any viruses! Wink

Feel better Laura's kids, Eileen, and Meg's son. And Lori--let's hope tonight is full of Zzzz'z (no tossing and turning allowed!).

I just got my older son off to school. The younger one is sniffling and coughing again. I'll call his doc later--he's still on an antibiotic but it seems to be completely ineffective. Hopefully they'll call something in without needing to see him again (we always seem to pick up some other random illness when we have to go to the pediatrician's office!).

I'm starting to feel a bit more like myself today. I decreased my nortriptyline by one pill and I don't seem to be as anxious and jumpy. I think the last migraine has finally faded away (taking its rotten, LONG postdrome with it!).

I'm a little worried about my M-I-L today. She's in her late 60's and she doesn't take the best care of herself. She's been really tired recently and she's got chest and shoulder-blade pain. She also has been short of breath. I tried to talk her into going to the ER this weekend, but she wanted to see her regular doc instead. Send out some happy thoughts for her if you can! My kids absolutely ADORE her--she's the only Gramma they have since my Mom passed away. She's terrific with the kids!

Anyway, enough about me...Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi guys.

This morning I felt like those people in the commercial who try to go and fight off monday. I never want to get up to go to work on Monday, even if I like my job.

Eileen and Laura's kids and Meg's kids and Jenny's kids and Lori - feel better. Being sick is no fun. I swear this winter more people have been sick than I ever remember.

Jenny, I am glad that you are feeling better and hope that your mother in law is okay.

I am in somewhat of an arguementative mood this morning, which means a migraine is probably on it's way in a couple hours. Hopefully I am wrong.

Yesterday we had a party to celebrate the Feb. birthdays in the family.
This included DH's band practice and of course food and cake. Birthday Cake None of my stuff was on the practice agenda, so I spent most of the afternoon playing with the drummer's 7 month old son. He is learning to crawl now. He is the happiest baby but thinks everything should go in his mouth. I can tell he is going to be trouble. Wink

Looks like I'm not the only one who's had a rough night/morning.

I was actually feeling ok most of yesterday. DBF and I made it out to go to Target, Kohl's and the mall. Despite the beautiful sunny weather I really tried not to overdo it. I felt mostly fine, other than some moderate migraine pain until I took a shower before bed. Then the nausea hit with a vengeance.

I took some promethazine when I went to bed around 11:45. Unfortunately when I take it too close to the nortriptyline (like I did last night) they increase each other's side effects and make me sort of shakey and woozy. I turned on my relaxation CD and tried to go to sleep. By 12:30 I was feeling atrocious.

I slept in fits and starts until 2:30, when I finally got up to take some Imitrex + ibuprofen. The nausea hadn't gone away, and in fact brought worse head pain, vertigo and very touch-sensitive skin. Of course I left the Imitrex and ibuprofen both in the living room so when I got up to get them I woke up the cat, who sat outside our bedroom door and meowed for about 15 minutes. In my dazed and sleepy stupor trying to get the Imitrex out of the pack I dropped one of the precious pills on our seriously-needs-cleaning bathroom floor. I retrieved it but popped another out of the case - couldn't deal with the thought of potential hair and dust on the Imitrex. Finally crawled back into bed, but still didn't fall all the way asleep until after 4:30.

It was TORTURE trying to get up this morning, but I dragged my sorry butt into work and here I am. And let's just say it's a good thing that my work email has spell-check because I can't type or think worth anything. I really considered calling out today but I have to save my time off for the really awful migraines. I may go home early though. Ugh. Head Banging

I can't think well enough to respond to everyone, but hope the various illnesses go away soon and that everyone has a decent Monday. Heart

Good morning! Almost afternoon here.

Wow! It looks like the day isn't starting out too promising. Laura, Eileen, and Megs -- sick kids at home are a challenge. And Lori -- here's to sleeping comfortably tonight. Jenny -- Gramma is having scary symptoms. I hope she sees her doctor today. It's amazing how stubborn we get. I'm already there!

Laurelin -- I remember when everything had to go in the mouth.

Sparky and I walked, then I walked by myself for an hour. I've got to remember to take Skelaxin before I walk. It's in the high 50s, and the cool gets into my neck and starts the cramping process.

I'm going to weigh in. Missed doing it last Thursday because of the funeral. I think the hunger and sweet cravings from the Lyrica may be evening off. I'm not ready to start increasing the dosage again, not until I break through this latest weight-loss plateau.

I may go to Sams. I need a lot of Sams stuff. They've got good frozen fish, and I haven't had boneless chicken breasts in the freezer for about 6 weeks. I missed Kroger's last special.

We were going to do a cookbook of recipes from site members. It seemed like it fizzled out. I've been making a roasted tomato soup recently. You roast canned tomatoes, onions, and garlic in the oven for about an hour, then puree them in the food processor. Add chicken broth, tomato paste, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and soy sauce. I don't add any extra salt. It's high in the umami taste, the new 5th taste they've decided exists. A kind of savory, meaty taste, like beef stock. The soup is high intensity. DH loves it.

Housekeeping -- My house stays a wreck. Messy, messy, messy. But it's a clean mess. We've had our housekeeper for around 22 years. I was pregnant when she came to work for us, and DS is 21. She's a treasure. Teri -- I understand about cleaning up for the housekeeper. I hate to leave the kitchen a wreck before she comes.

Happy day!

Today was not a fun morning for us either. DH usually get up at 3:00 to get to work at the fire station. At 5:00 I nudge him and said, "Don't you have to go to work?" Hair Raising Then his car would not start.

I woke up to take Zach to school and the coffee was not made. Could not find my car keys. Had to call DH at the station, to find out he left them in his jacket pocket. My vision is acting up with my migraine on the way. UGGGG!! Okay, I will stop whinning now. What a Monday!! Hopefully, it will get better. Hope everyone else day gets better

Wow rough AM for alot of yall. Im SS. Hope all the sick kids and parents get well soon Fingers Crossed

But alas I must add my own sick kid to the list. My lil man TJ(the youngest, 9 yr old) came down with an awful headache last night. First thing this am he dry heaved and has felt nauseated, head pain and sensitive to sounds all morning. Yes it do sound like a migraine to me. It started about 1/2 hour after dinner. Think it was the Turkey. I couldnt find an all natural one with no MSG(the "natural"juices they inject into turkeys) I wonder if it was that that triggered.

Anyway hope everyone has a great day and gets feelin better!

i'm now allowed to type in short bits. my arm's still in a sling, and it's still painful, but I'm feeling better. as long as i don't go for that shift key, my hand is almost fine. now it's just the rest of the arm and especially the elbow.

just thought i'd check in and say "hi" and I miss my forum time and forum family.

My hands are not working, washed them today and can't do a thing with them!!

Sick kids everywhere. Piper is home with an upset tummy. Says it's from the potluck last night she was at. Came home with it. Too bad we can't put them all someplace together!!

Jenny sure hope you M_I_L gets to see her doctor. Mine was always like that too, and always had something.

Gretchen did Sparky enjoy his walk? Are the meds still working?

I just want to go home and not do anything. Everything aches and I don't think it's the flu. I think it's the Zonogran. We'll see what the neurlogist says Friday.

I'm not going to add any joy to the bunch.

I rarely feel postdrome-y but I do today - probaby the crying added to the hungover feeling. Slogged through the grocery store, thank goodness tonight's dinner is lentils and hamhocks, no effort.

I have several things to do today, and I will do them as soon as I'm done here. One think is re-washing a load of dark clothes. Dear Nikoli left a cheese stick in his pocket and cheese and grease stains are everywhere. Just keep repeating...I love my son, I love my son.

The weather doesn't help - I know I like cloudy and cool but we do need sunshine every now and then. It's a rare sight these days.

Too many sick kids to keep track of - all you kids, get better!

MJ, you've got drive, that's for sure.

Jamie, I see your ticker says 8 days since last migraine - really? Big Grin

That's it - off to do chores.
