Saturday greetings!

I am having a great day! I have only been up and around for a few hours but...I am in no pain!!

It is my son's birthday AND it is getting ready to snow Big Grin

I am on my way out the door before the snow hits. It is actually supposed to accumulate this time which is way cool for us!!!!

So, off to WalMart before every other person in my area decides to go too LOL.

Hope everyone is having a great day too!

Morning - Laura enjoy the snow - Jodi enjoy being in out of the cold.

I've got a pretty nasty headache - not a migraine - yet Fingers Crossed I think my neck is out of alignment but my chiro isn't in today. My neck gets bad on days his office is closed! I don't want to stay in bed, but I don't want to overdo it and get a migraine later. Skillet Don't know what to do with myself. So I'm lying down with the computer and foruming away...

Joy and rapture. We're getting snow, too. Off and on all day, with six to eight inches expected. Ick. I'm not doing a whole lot today. I've got to try and work on finishing up a library book that's due Tuesday. I've already done the Saturday crossword. Tonight we're going over to my godparents' for supper and to learn how to play Mexican Train, which they tell us is a lot faster than Chicken Foot. Other than all that, not much going on today except some forum time and me time. Smiler

Hope you all have splendid weekends!

Ok, Droolie, I think I've played Mexican Train (is it dominoes?), but I've never heard of Chicken Foot. Is there a link to the news about your awesome fund raiser?

MJ -- I haven't been to Michaels in at least 6 months. Hobby Lobby either. Or even Hancocks. There's a new quilt shop in town. I'm going out of town next week to see my specialist, but when I get back, I'm going on a field trip there with my mom.

And I'm so envious about IKEA. My sister lives near Dallas and keeps inviting me to go to IKEA. I've got to ask if they've got a Crate & Barrel. I've got a frequent flyer ticket so that I wouldn't have to make the 7-hour drive.

It snowed here in Central Mississippi today, too! About an inch of cumulation on carports and fence railings. The ground is way too warm for it to stick, and it's already melted. They got more south of here, and DH decided to stay and school and not come home for the weekend. Very wise.

My mom taught me how to withstand a snow or ice storm: Make sure you have Milk, Bread, and Toilet Paper. I have an addition: Make Sure Your Car is Filled ALL The Way Up. My guys grumbled when I made them do it prior to Katrina, but it kept us out of hour-long gasoline lines!

Woke up with #6 behind my eyes. Took my triple-threat treatment: Imitrex, Anaprox and Skelaxin. I've only got a heaviness and a twinge now. Just took another dose of Imitrex to see if that will go away. I call this a success!

The dog and I will walk when it gets up to 40 degrees. Paperwork today.

Here's to a great day for all!

One other thing -- were going to be watching tomorrow night's Giants-Packers game. Would you believe that a Mississippi quarterback is guaranteed to play in the Super Bowl?

Eli Manning for the Giants is an Ole Miss graduate. And Brett Favre of the Packers is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. My son just started at USM in the fall. But he doesn't follow football.

Eli's from New Orleans, but both his parents graduated from Ole Miss. His dad was a star quarterback there, and played for the Saints (Aint's). Brett is from a tiny place, Kiln, Mississippi.

Yep. Mexican Train is a dominoes game, as is Chicken Foot.

Here's a link to the article on one of our local news sites about the fundraiser. While it doesn't show the video clip, the copy is the exact same from the newscast itself...

I'm very proud of our kids and what they accomplished yesterday.

Oh boy, today has not started off well for me.

I was extremely dizzy and nauseous pretty much all day yesterday. It calmed down enough that I was able to fall asleep by 1:30 am. My alarm went off at 9 this morning and I opened my eyes just long enough to turn it off and discover my migraine was already at a 6. I went back to sleep for an hour, and got up with a 5 that worked up to a 7. I took some Imitrex about half an hour ago, and the pain is starting to diminish. It's still at a 5 though. I don't know what triggered this. And it's on the wrong side of my head (left).

So, no Ikea for me today. Maybe tomorrow. DBF and I have to buy a full size mattress for our spare bedroom. My mom's coming to visit in two weeks so we want to have an actual mattress for her (instead of the air mattress).

I'm jealous of everyone's snow! It's only raining here today.

Megs, I'm hoping Fingers Crossed your headache doesn't turn into a migraine.

Tawsha, sorry to hear about your migraine yesterday. Hope you're feeling better today.

Gretchen, I am very spoiled in that there is a *huge* Crate & Barrel very close to my apartment. I can walk there in 20 minutes. It takes a lot of restraint not to spend my entire paycheck there!

Hope everyone is doing well. I think I'll be laying low today.

Well, still waiting on the snow. Right now just some light rain but it is on it's way to changing over to snow as I type.

WalMart was just getting crowded as I was leaving. I am so glad that I left when I did. Avoid all the other shoppers!

Jodi-My gosh, that is TO cold!! I hope you got to stay warm today, drink some tea and read your book.

Megs-I hope you are doing better and your headache didn't transform!

Tawsha-Are you doing better than 5 today? I hope so!!

Droolie-What a great story!! Your kids are amazing, so giving. What great students and great doobies!!

Gretchen-Did your dog get to walk you yet? hehe I'm rooting for my boy Eli!

MJ-How exciting that your mom is coming! Get to feeling better.

Hi - Droolie the article was great - you must be glowing working with those kids.

MJ sorry you're not feeling well - great that Mom is coming to visit.

Laura & Gretchen enjoy the snow and the football. We have a chance of a little snow tonight and it's going to get really cold - never did get those windows weather-stripped when it was warm...

My headache's still around but pain is down. Tomorrow I'll go to the chiro and see if taking care of my neck helps - or maybe I'll just wake up without the headache - ya never know - could happen! I've got some laundry folded and some pants hemmed - watched Ghostbusters - made it downstairs for a little while and did a few dishes. Good thing Danny loves to cook or we'd never eat anything but frozen!

The good news is that the Imitrex did its job!! As usual it made me sleepy, so I napped on the couch for about an hour and half. When I woke up, I felt *much* better. The pain is back down to a 4. DBF made me some lunch, wonderful guy that he is.

Megs, glad that your headache hasn't turned into a migraine. Hopefully it stays that way! Or, even better, that you wake up pain-free tomorrow.

Group Hug to all.

Went out to an early morning meeting this morning, then came home and checked on the forum before going out to lunch--something I've done nearly every Saturday for years.

This afternoon I had to go to a funeral for a friend. Not an extremely close friend, but I still felt I should go to the funeral. On the way home, I saw a house fire. The house was obviously going to burn to the ground. I hope no one was hurt.

I went and got some exercise, and now I'm home again.
