Good morning! I got up way to early this morning. I left the Cuckoo clock on and was to lazy to get up and turn it off so it kept waking me up
An early start is good though. I'm enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and the calm before the storm (the kids getting ready for school). "Mom, you were supposed to sign this"; "Mom, is it cold out? What do I wear?" You guys know what I'm talking about. I'm going plant shopping with my friend this morning. We're going to Garden Ridge. I'm not sure if it is a chain or what but everything is 50% off today. I can't pass that up!! I hope everyone who was feeling icky yesterday is much better today and everyone else remained pain free. Have a fantastic day! Laura Forum Moderator ***You're welcome to enter your birthday, etc in the Celebrate folder so we can party with you!! =) *** |

Well, my schedule today looks like this:
1. Call in sick to my team leader and supervisor. 2. Contact the doctor to see if she wants to see me or wants to get a chest x-ray (since I was never cleared from the asymptomatic pneumonia last fall.) 3. Rest and drink plenty of fluids. My wretched cold has gotten the better of me. The weather's also bad, so I can't be completely sure my coworkers will get to our work location, either, which is quite a hike out. |

Good Morning..
I woke up a little heavy headed this morning and bit on the "irritated" side already. Not quite sure why but usually the early symptoms of something brewing. I am supposed to go to CowTown today, it's huge Flea Market here in New Jersey. I love to walk around, don't usually buy much, but my sister and I go together and we have fun. Maybe the rain will hold off and the fresh air will do me good! Laura and Nutcracker, my thoughts are with ya! Hope you all start to feel better real soon! Hope everyone else has a great day Lori |

Good morning!
Lori, in my corner of NJ it's supposed to start raining around noon. Hope you can get out and enjoy yourself before then! And that your own brewing storm blows over! Nut SS you're feeling sick - take good care of yourself! Laura enjoy the plant shopping. I'm longing to get into the dirt, but it will be nothing but cold mud up here for at least 3-4 weeks more. Aren't you glad you went south? So I'm going to try to get a walk in before noon. First have to get to the accountant's with the rest of the tax stuff. Felt really well yesterday until evening when I get tired and a little bit headachy. I'm still making it a pink day on my migraine calendar ("in the pink") - I haven't colored one in pink in quite a while! Today I feel pretty well, but tired. Haven't slept well - I may need to nap a little to ward off evening fatigue/migraine. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Good Morning,
Nut hope the cxr has good news for you. Riley a bit of fresh air is always good for us. Laura, I usually try to get up before the kids just so I can enjoy the coffee hot before the demands of the day start. I left the poor dog outside last night. Can't believe I did that. Just forgot to let her back in. Her arthritis will not be happy today poor thing. I'm feeling guilty enough she will probably get some left over beef stew with breakfast. I heard this whine at the door and couldn't figure out why she was there when I hadn't been up yet. I'm not going back into work yet. While the Depakote seems to be kicking in the Zonogran has not kicked out and the fatigue is still awful from it. So I guess I'll still with low key stuff around the house and be happy I'm starting to feel better. Take care everyone. Cindy |

Hi everyone.
Had a horrible night last night. The new med makes me nauseous and tingly. And then last night during my migraine it multiplied out of control. The last thing I need is nausea x 3. So I ended up getting sick, which is really unusual for me. And then during postdrome, usually my head is pretty tender. A lot of times it is hard to wash my hair the next day. But the tingly during that phase actually hurt. It was like having the migraine start up again. I am doing better so far today. The nausea is not so bad right now. Hopefully will stay that way. Laura - good luck iwth your flower shopping. nut - hope that you feel better. It is no fun when your lungs are not happy. Lori - hope it sweeps away without brewing anything. Megs - have fun on your walk. Cindy - at least you are in CA. It snowed here last night. When I'm sleepy my brain doesn't function very well. Laurelin |

A good day so far. We had storms last night. Lots of rain, and wind gusts up to 30 MPH, but no damage here. They did blow the sirens, but it was east of us and headed east. I hope it's not as bad where y'all are.
Laura -- I'm jealous. I've got a couple of plants I got at Home Depot to plant, but it's still a little cold and wet. I want to work on a perennial garden this year and maybe start re-landscaping our side yard -- we're on a corner lot, so we really have two front yards. Nutcracker -- add to your to do list: Watch mindless daytime TV, read a trashy magazine, and take a long soak in the tub. And turn on the humidifier if you have one. Lori -- I haven't been to the flea market in ages. Have fun! Megs -- congrats on the Pink Day Cindy -- my dog has arthritis, too. He's at the vet for a re-check today because we increased his pain meds a couple of weeks ago. He's doing much, much better. He's taking tramadol (Ultram) and doggie vioxx. He'll be 16 next month. Lauralin -- hope your side effects improve! Gretchen in Mississippi |

Another snow day here, the fourth of the year. I don't know what the end of school calendar is going to look like.
Kath is having a terrible time with her friends right now. She says they'll make plans at lunch for the weekend and not invite her. One time she said, "uh, guys, I'm right here" but it did no good. Apparently, over the weekend when I was gone, she posted this long "rant" on her facebook page, complaining about how she's never invited to anything and she feels like she's losing her best friend to someone else. Well, her best friend didn't talk to her yesterday and Kath asked me to pick her up; she was in tears. Last night she was messaging with the friend and the friend told her she also likes to have other friends, that she's "mad" (not the word the friend used)that Kath "tagged her" (an internet chatting term?) in her rant. Another girl answered the rant and told Kath, "the phone works both ways," and this is where we get into the meat of the matter. I asked Kath a couple of weeks ago if she ever called anyone to make plans instead of waiting for the kids to call her. She said no. Now two girls have told her the phone works both ways. So I asked her last night why didn't she call some friends and have them over. She said she can't, we don't have room because we don't have a finished basement. She's talking about having over 20 friends here. We did that on her birthday because they could go outside. So I asked why not just have a few over, five or six? She said, "because I don't want to spend time with Jordan and Emily and (some more kids' names.)" I wanted to know why it would have to be them and not some other ones and I got no answer. So I asked her who she likes in her group and she said, "no one." This is all very confusing. I don't know what's going on and I don't know if I ever will, or ever understand how a teenager's mind works. I'm not going to ask any questions today - she can come to me if she wants to explain it all. I just feel bad for her that she's upset. If you read this far, thank you. I'm trying to sort this out. Happy Tuesday, everybuddy!
Have fun plant shopping, Laura. We won't be doing that for a bit here in Montana. I noticed they are setting up the fencing in the Wally-World parking lot as of yesterday, so we're getting closer, but I'd say it's a good three weeks before they *might* start putting plants out. I usually wait and get my mom a planter of some kind for the deck around Mother's Day. We sometimes get that nasty white stuff into April and May, so it's pointless to go before then. Big hugs to Nut! Hope you're better in a jiffy, and that pneumonia thing really is in the past. Riley, I've never been to a flea market. We have a couple of good-sized antique stores here, and I've gone poking around in them, just for fun. It's almost like a museum trip. It's fun finding all the stuff that you or your mom or grandma used to have, and seeing what exhorbant prices it goes for these days. In the pink, huh, Megs? In my calendar, pink is something else. My good, ick free days are left completely blank, like the blank slates that they are. I guess I'd have to say I'm in the clear. Cindy, hugs to your poor fuzzy buddy, and to you, too. I'm sure she'll forgive you over that stew. I went over to my sister's last night and got me some puppy love (min pin and three yorkies). Today's going to be a good day for me. First is forum time. Then I'm going to meet my buddy Deb for lunch. Our students are buying, since they're so good about patronizing our little pencil store. It's all good. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

Uggh. T-storms about to come around my area o' the country- thanks to all of you midwesterners who sent your weather east.
Deb- sounds like it could be a book- perhaps you should collect anecdotes like that and turn it into a story. You definitely capture the teen mentality well in your summary! Laura- Enjoy your plants! Hope the weather doesn't get you as well. Gretchen- how scary to hear the sirens! cindy- I'm sure your doggy forgave you after that special breakfast. nut- I hope you finally got rid of that gosh darn pneumonia. Having a cold on top of that would just be awful, I think. Droolie- you snuck in on me! Have an awesome day! I need to reset my ticker, but I may as well hold off until tomorrow, as I'm pretty sure that tonight will yield some stormy weather- both outside and in my head. Hugs to all, |

Hi everyone!
Work has me crazy today so I have not really been able to be on much yet. Jamie I hope that elbow - and your head! is feeling better today! It is like 60 here!! Yippee!!!!! I really can't wait for warm weather, and spring time!!! I wonder if my crocus will come back this year??? I love them. It was a nice surprise to see them last year. It was the first summer at our house, so we didn't know what was planted. Hope everyone enjoys the day! Hi guys,
VERY rain, VERY yucky, VERY migraine-y day here. Deb, teenage girls are so tough. One moment they are all friends, the next moment one decides to be moody and some others follow suit...It's such a tough age! Sometimes there doesn't even seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, either. Laura, buy some plants for me. Here in PA, it's still WAY to yucky to even think about planting! Nutcracker, Lori, I sure hope the rain stays away from you for a while! Enjoy your flea marketing!! Megs, brace yourself! It rained cats and dogs here overnight! I saw your post from yesterday...Yep. I'll be at the Jeff later this week! Send me a smile from across the river--I'll do the same for you! Cindy, I'm sure your pup will forget about his "night out" quickly. DH left our terrier out by accident one night. Fortunately for us, terriers are too spunky to be forgotten!! She yapped and howled til we finally heard her and came to her rescue! Laurelin, I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad night! Sending you Gretchen, we had nasty storms here in PA. Windy, but TONS of rain. Now we've got flooding all over. (With our snow melting AND all the rain...I'm sure glad I don't live near a creek!!!) Droolie, have a great lunch--and a nice visit with the endo doc, too!! You sound like you've got a nice day planned! Jamie, hang in there through the storms! Eileen, spring flowers are such a wonderful surprise! You put them in the ground as ugly bulbs in the fall--then POOF! They come out so beautifully in the spring. My favorite is tulips. But my neighbor has daffodils, crocuses, and tulips all over the place. It's a nice reminder that summer will come soon! Yesterday it was nearly 70 degrees here! The kids had a wonderful time outside after school. They rode bikes, played hockey, and built a snow dam near the road. They were soaked and filthy by bathtime! Going back to my heating pad now. My neck muscles are so tight it feels like I have a brick on my shoulders. My head does not like it when my neck's out of sorts. Nerve block again soon...just a couple more days... Have a happy Tuesday, friends! |

Deb, I can make no sense of teenages most of the time, my two included. Listening is always good, but their social structure is a mystery most of the time.
Nala didn't tell me DD had really let her out. She took the stew and ran (after putting the carrots on the floor). She let me feel guilty. And a fine job she did. Funny she picks out the carrots but not the Novox for her arthritis. She only gets the tormadol sometimes, especially when it's colder or I know she is going to be out and exercising more. I'm going to go do a few errands and try to see my MIL (really ex MIL) in the hospital this afternoon. Thought she had pneumonia, but a virus instead. Has to keep food and fluids down before they let her go home. I'll keep her company for awhile. Gretchen are the storms gone or are more expected? You all that deal with the intense thunder and lighning storms, I don't know how you do it. I find them very frightning. They can be so damaging. Everyone have a good day and I hope you all are feeling better. Cindy |

Hey everyone,
I'm not a morning person so I'll be chiming in on the afternoon shift usually. Gretchen, loved your advice to Nutcracker, made me lol. Deb, teenagers are from another planet, don't worry about it. Megs, it's already raining here in NYC and my head's not happy. The lady that cleans for us was here this morning, and the building super came to test the airconditioners so they can get ready to turn them on. I just sat on the couch and read the paper, ignoring the chaos! No beastie yesterday but head doesn't feel good at the moment. It will probably turn into a migraine, so at least I had one day off. We'll be up late watching the election returns tonight. No matter who you support this sure has been an interesting race, hasn't it? Just no way to predict anything with certainty. What else? Reading a good book, a novel about World War II. And I've already won a game of Spider Solitaire today! How's that for a significant accomplishment?! Now if I could only get paid for it...! LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |
