Hi everyone,
I've been MIA in here for a long time. I've missed everyone. But, between my trip to Dallas, then a migraine that put me out of commission for four days I just haven't been able to get in here. I'm finally feeling normal again, whatever that is, right? I'm actually getting the house ready for TS Hanah. It's supposed to hit us in the middle of the night and into the afternoon tomorrow. Wish us luck that it doesn't cause any major wind damage and flood waters. Our neighborhood is prone to flooding at the entryway so that may be a problem, but, I will remain optimistic that all will be well. I went hurricane shopping yesterday so I wouldn't have to fight the crowds today. I hope everyone is doing well!! Happy Friday, everyone!
Laura, I hope you'll be OK and won't get flooded. I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm ready to sleep in tomorrow. I slept a little better last night. We don't have a football game tonight. It's tomorrow night. It's a little strange to have it on Saturday. Well, I need to get to work. Hope all have a good Friday and a good weekend. |

Good morning! Laura good luck with Hanna, and all of you on the SE coast, I'm thinking about you. We are supposed to get the rain and wind tomorrow, 3 - 5 inches of rain, some flooding. Our village is on high ground so we don't ever flood right here, but in Floyd (9 years ago already) we were an island for a day and a half - every road into town was flooded. And other areas of NJ less than a half hour from me have been disaster areas from flooding many times.
Heather I hope your Friday goes smoothly and I'm glad you got some good sleep! Sleepy! Went to bed with slight migraine pain and had nightmares all night. Got up for my early business meeting this morning and now I'm going back to sleep. This mild migraine-type pain has not let up all week - I'm going to call the dr. when I get up from my nap. Both kids had great 1st days of school. That's all the news I've got. Be well, all. - Megs |

Greetings and good morning
Laura- Happy to hear the migraine broke and you are back safe but do hope that everything remains in tack the next 48 hours. Heather - Very glad to hear you slept better oh I missed yesterday. I got caught up in my own yuck - which I hate doing- and went off in a rant half the day I did make it to my son's game on Wednesday but it was called in the first quarter due to lightening. The heat was fierce and even with the extra fluids, large brimmed hat, and ice packs I peeked in my aura right before they started evacuating the stands. Very frustrating since it was a bad one and I couldn't move most of my right side - oh well I did talk to my neurologist yesterday and though it was positive it was also frustrating for both of us i think. We are Doing some changes and trying a 6 week cycle of prednisone so I'm sure we'll get some relief here soon And... I had almost a full hour with a horrible migraine but.. I had no ataxia, could actually speak correctly, wasn't dizzy.... no hemiplegic symptoms!!!! Boo for the migraine but yeah for the rest! I am in another cycle atm so I am stuck here at the desk for a bit but I'll let ya all get to work and such... /huge hugs and a wonderful pain free day to everyone!!!! JulieKay ~Due to the dysphasic speech disturbance of the hemiplegic attacks some words may be miss placed or phrases may be mis -worded. I do spell check but please bear with grammatical errors |

Good Morning,
I slept last night. Such a treat. Two nights in a row. I might start feeling human and making sense!!! Now if the nausea will get under control...... Friday night lights here. DS will be playing tonight broken pinkie and all. I swear since he became a senior he swagers and looks older. All of you in the East I hope you are safe as Hannah blows through. You all sound like you know what you need to do to prepare and you take these things seriously. JulieKay we don't get alot out here on the west coast called due to lightning. I guess with your migraine hitting you were called anyway. I hope the changes you and your doctor made take hold soon and help. I do have a small amount of work to do this morning. It won't take long. I can do it in the comfort on my desk with my little dog at my feet or on my lap. He has a vet appointment at 11. Oh the tree guys were here yesterday. Wow what a change. I wish I had an extra 50K to bury utility lines up my driveway now. My view with my old trees and the neighbors trees gone is very nice. I think I will be re-arranging my living room so I can take advantage of the view now. Be safe everyone. Cindy |

Hi all!
Yep - Hannah is on the way! I have to take in my lawn furniture when I get home. It's only that plastic resin kind. I don't want it to blow away! As Megs said, we should not get it as bad, just rain and wind. I'm on a big hill, so no chance of flooding for us. Laura - I hope you make it out with no flooding too!!! I am kinda excited about being trapped inside tomorrow!! Movies and video games galore!!!! Hope you all have a good one today! It's Friday - thank God! It's been a long and dizzy week for me!! Morning all...
TGIF!!!! It is my own fault because I didn't get enough sleep last nite. I was up late watching an eBay auction (I won!!!). It is a really unique antique piece I got DBF for his upcoming birthday. I have never seen another one like it, so I was desperate to win. I lost about 2 hours of sleep time. I cheated and added a little caffinated coffee in with my decaf this morning. I think it's perking my mood a little tho. I'm not as cranky as usual. Oh well, I'll make it up in nap time today.... Laura: Heather: Glad to hear you got some better sleep. Megs: Glad to hear you are on a hill. Me too, a big one! I always joke if my building floods it is time to build an ark JulieKay: Sorry to hear about the mig, but glad you didn't have the hemiphelagic symptoms with it. Sorry to hear the game was called too. Good luck with the prednisone. Cindy: Enjoy your time with Solo. Good luck with the vet appointment. Eileen: I'm looking forward to the excuse to lock myself in the house tomorrow too. Though I'm so sensitive to weather, I'm sure I'm going to end up with a migraine. Well, I'm sure I'll be back, because I'm so not motivated to work too hard today. |

Happy Friday, everyone.
I'm glad to see everyone getting better sleep. Our phone rang at 3:15 am and I had a hard time getting back to sleep, wrong number - all that adrenaline. I have Kath set up to work with her tutor from last year - math this time. She's breezing through biology. School can be such a struggle for her and it comes so easy for Nikoli (when he does his homework, that's another post), I know that she gets frustrated that she has to struggle. Laura and Megs, stay safe from Hanna. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Hi All--
Am up late. I went back to bed this morning with a small headache. Am trying to abort before it becomes a mig. Sounds like those of you in Hannah's way are getting buttoned down ok. I hope everything goes well and nobody gets flooded. Today I have to give Harmoni her bath and hair cut (mane shortened and tail trimmed), and clean up my tack for the clinic this weekend. My lesson Wednesday (which I got in spite of all the excitement with Star Flight, etc.), went really well, so I feel ready to enjoy the clinic. Work is getting depressing. I'm not on the schedule for next week either. The scheduler said to just hang in there, she'd have work for me in October, but frankly, I can't afford to just not work. I guess I'll start looking at other options. At least, in my field, there are always lots of jobs out there. I think I'm going to try to go back part time to my real specialty which is hospital if I can find the right type of schedule. I'm not going to reply back to everybody today, the list has already got too long. Just know I'm thinking of all of you. Hope everybody has the best day they can. Tracie |

Taking it easy today... I donno why, but when I woke up, I felt like a mack truck had hit me.
I also woke up in a sweat- I dreamed that I was back in my HS Calculus class and I couldn't remember something. and if I didn't get an "A" on the test, I was going to fail. Which is funny 'cause my HS didn't give grades... Going back to bed. It's been an awful week for me, and here coemes Hanna! Jamie Forum Moderator |

Good morning!
It's only 10;45 here. Molly has duly walked me -- about 55 minutes, partially because I required us to slow down. I've got something wrong with each foot that I'm trying to isolate. If I can't get it remedied by Monday, it's off to the athletic shoe store. They can either show me or sell me a way to work around my problems. My dad has been in the hospital the last three days. I haven't been down to see him. I've got a scratch in my throat and a very mild cough. I'm sure it's nothing, but I don't want to be spreading "nothing" throughout the hospital. He has diverticulitis. They're also looking at his sense of balance due to his peripheral neuropathy in his legs. The PTs have suggested a cane, either a single or a 4-legged one. Various ones of us have been thinking about that possibility, but didn't dare mention it -- he'd explode at us. They also suggested a Handicapped License Tag. My mom protested that he likes to walk. I told her that he doesn't have to use the place if he doesn't want to, but it'll be very nice when he does. My brother has been faithful about visiting, but he's gone to the Coast to survey damage -- he's a Deputy Fire Marshall. He'll be back today. The 6 sibs are keeping touch through phone calls and (mostly) e-mail. To those on the East coast -- stay safe with Hannah! All we had with Gustav was rain. My preventives are doing a pretty good job. Gustav didn't trigger me! I hope the same happens for you. Heather -- no game on a Friday night must feel weird after so many years of Friday games! Megs -- I hope you're feeling better. JulieKay -- Hooray for the absence of ataxia! It's nice to be able to stay vertical, isn't it? Cindy -- How wonderful to have a new view. We've been in our neighborhood 25 years. The scraggly live oaks people planted when they built their houses are now 80-foot trees, and no grass grows under them. The 3rd and 4th owners of the houses are taking them down, to give the lawn some sun and open up the view. But the old-timers are scandalized because we knew those trees when they were babies. Kel -- it must be horrible having to finish a project that you know will never see the light of day. Bummer! Deb -- Congrats on the tutor. I was after DH to get a calculus tutor all last semester. He waited until the last 3 or 4 weeks of class, when there weren't any available. I'm giving him the same kind of "encouragement" this year for statistics. He can do numbers well, but he doesn't like them, and he's scared of them. He flunked Calculus. Have a great day! Gretchen |

Good morning. Everyone is up and ready to get Friday over with and start the weekend. I'm moving slowly but will be fine in about an hour. I was convinced it was Saturday and was confused when I couldn't find the Saturday Tea Room. I'm really in a fibro fog!
DS was up early rattling around. His band starts recording in the studio today. Why can't children get ready and be quiet in the morning? Anyway, They're showing commercials on FUSE TV for the show featuring his band. It's a 5 song demo for some contest Nitro2Go is going to run. I don't know the details about it but will tell everyone once I do. Other DS is up (that's amazing) and getting ready to cut the grass. DH is still sleeping. I had a run in with the short term disability insurance yesterday. I'll put the details in the vents folder. I took my laptop to the Apple store yesterday because the battery won't keep a charge. It has a warranty so I thought they're replace the battery. I learned that the 3 year warranty is not on the battery. That only has a 1 year warranty and I bought it last June so warranty's up! So frustrating. The new battery (that I had to buy of course) is working great though. I hope everyone is Hanna's way stays safe and that there's minimal damage. I won't respond to everyone. I know everyone gets tired of my long posts. Take care everyone. Namaste' |

Hello everyone,
I was having a pretty good day, until I talked to the disability company today. I'll save it for the gripes folder, maybe. I can't even talk about it right now. One good point: No migraine today (yet)! Maybe the prednisone is finally kicking in. I hope everyone is AWAP today. Be well, Melissa |

Cranky, frustrated, upset, depressed - yup, that's me today. Preventive #7, Lyrica, is a bust. I put the full story in the Gripes folder. Seems like a lot of us are griping this week! Hope next week is better.
I'm trying to cheer myself up with the thoughts of 1. DBF and I are going to a house showing this afternoon and 2. my mom, DBF and I are driving to Lake Chelan for the weekend. Mostly though, still cranky. Work isn't helping, of course. Here's hoping everyone's weekends improve over the week! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com Why do I capitalize Migraine? Well, Sallie and I had half-days at school, which is a good thing. We were able to finish clearing the back yard of "flyables" about 45 min. ago. Got drenched in the process.
Tropican Storm Hannah is expected to make landfall in about 12 hours about 40 mi. up the coast from us. 70 mph winds there, 40 mph winds, with gusts to 55 pmh here. I'll go back out in a bit & doublecheck everything. I'm sorry to hear the bad news from some of y'all - the "achy-breaky" heads and bodies, the school problems, the disability nightmares I'm rejoicing in the good news - the riding clinic, Solo time, a new and beautiful view, Now, I'm hoping we can really load the scales with much, much more good than bad news.
