Good morning everyone -

It's a big day in forum-land with two birthdays amongst our family! Hope everyone's having a good morning so far. Our company came about 2 yesterday afternoon and we're enjoying having them. My parents were supposed to come down to see them today but Dad threw his back out and they can't make the drive. I haven't seen them since New Year's and will have to get up to NY to see them soon. It's so hard with the frequent weekend migraines and Rachel's work schedule - but since Dad's stroke in 2006 it's harder for them to travel and I do want to see them more.

I'm really aware of my tendency to overdo it when I have company - it's like a button gets pushed where I have to be "on" - being funny and talking a lot (now you all say "talking a lot? Our Megs? Never!") and taking care of people and making sure everything's handled - it's exhausting. At 8 last night I had just had it and dragged myself upstairs to lie down. And I do get fatigued easily and move from fatigue into migraines easily. I wish I could deactivate the button and be more relaxed. I'm going to make sure to get some down time today. Last night I lay there from about 8 to 10 trying to read and fighting my impulse to go back down and "hostess" some more!

I slept a good 8 1/2 hours but feeling pretty tired and no head pain but just that funky feeling in my neck and temples so I really have to keep the energy level down today... wish me luck!

- Megs

Shoot, I thought I'd be the first person in the Tea Room today! Razzer

Kath went to her dance last night and she's paying for it today. I think she pushed it, in fact, I know she did - they came home early! She did look beautiful, though, in her black and white dress and her hair all curly. However, I don't get the idea of spaghetti straps and no panty hose in winter. BRRRRR!

So Kath is still sleeping and I'm skipping church to stay home with her. Yeah, she's 16, but it doesn't seem right to leave a sick kid home alone no matter how old.

We're going to my parents' house tonight my sister and my birthday. I finally changed my tickerfactory, it wasn't accurate. I have Nikoli's birthday on there, now. But TUESDAY is my birthday - dh is making me a special dinner, shrimp scampi alfredo.

Just how many early February birthdays do we have here?

Good Morning,

Shoot, I gave up trying to be the first one on the forum, since I live in California I would have to get up at 3:00am to write first LOL.
I feel great today Big Grin. I have had the worst migraines the last couple days and poof!! they are gone this morning Fingers Crossed I am a little foggy, but I will take that. I plan on resting today, since my body feels like it has been beaten up. DH and Zach are going to watch the game. We were supposed to go to a party, but staying close to home is a better idea.

Megs, enjoy your company and try not to overdo it (I know, easy said. then done). I love having company and playing hostess, but I get what you mean it runs your energy way down. I am sorry you parents couldn't make it. I hope your Dad's back get better soon.

Deb, That's great Kath got to go to her dance. Hope she is feeling better today. When I was reading about the dress and the spaghetti straps with no panty hose in winter it reminded me of the twins and their dances Brrr is right. And I remember Nicole's HAD to have 5 inch heels one year. So, she practiced walking up and down the hall, wobbling all the way. Then she went to the dance, wore them for five minutes and went barefoot LOL. I love those memories. Have fun at your parents tonight

Hope everyone has a great Sunday Blinking

Hi everyone!

Just stopping by to check in! It's a quiet Sunday at home for us...DH and I had a night out last night! Grandma said she'd take the kids overnight, so we figured it was the perfect night for dinner and a movie. We really don't go out much--this is only the 2nd time the kids have ever stayed with Grandma for more than a couple of hours...Anyway, it was a very nice night out! Smiler

Megs, I'm glad you're enjoying your visit! Now remember--please take good care of yourself and relax a bit! That way you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your time together!

Deb, it's so nice that Kath got to go to her dance! Yeah, that spaghetti-strap-no-pantyhose thing happened when I went to dances, too! So silly! But I guess the girls don't want to cover up their dresses--they want to show them off! (Even a few minutes in a coat seems like wasted time!)

Dar, I'm glad you're feeling so good today! You certainly deserve a break!

Tawsha--You do need a really big house, huh? I'm heading over to your vent now to hear the whole story...But for now, good luck with your hunting! Fingers Crossed I'll be thinking of you!

Have a nice Sunday, guys!

Hi guys!

Oh my gosh! I am so excited to be back on the forum!!! Somehow, my computer was fighting me for the past couple of weeks and I couldn't log in right, or something. Or, it could have been my brain not working as a result of the spinal HA after my lumbar puncture, which was like an all encompassing HA).

But, no Pseudotumor Cerebri! Thumbs Up

I tried to start a new "CJ" profile, but that seemed to backfire on me too. Anyhow, everything's working just fine now...(well, except my head, of course!).

Did anyone hear from LauraM after her trip to Dallas??? I've been dying to hear how she is & what the docs there thought! How's everyone else doing? We're getting dumped on here in Colorado!

But, despite the migraines, I am so excited to get through to y'all!

Love to all!

CJ

Just a lazy Sunday for me, which makes it a great day for drinking tea.

Went to church. Ate lunch. Spent time on the forum. Rested in bed. I think I may even have slept a little. Very rare for me to be able to sleep during the day.

There's a storm outside, but so far my head is doing OK.

I've been craving grapefruit, so I think I'll eat one soon for supper. Then maybe read or go to bed.

Glad to see you back, CJ.

Enjoy your company, Megan.

Hope the Giants do you proud, Laura.

Deb, it's about time for everyone in your household to get over their various ailments, isn't it?

Everyone take care, and avoid all of your triggers!

Currently DH and I are watching the Superbowl. Go Giants!

I woke up early, but DH wanted to sleep in. Poor guy didn't get much. His parents, who are farmers, never remember that he sleeps in on the weekends. They always call early! But he enjoys talking to them regardless.

We'd planned for a slow day b/c DH has been really stressed and busy, but I heard a friend who is a migrainuer is in the hospital for her migraines. So, my fabulous DH on his ONE day off during the week, drove me an hour into the city so I could visit her. I Heart DH.

When we came home, we both watched all the pre-game madness and now are rooting for the Giants.

Oooo...My day has not been happy. Actually, it all started last night, at work.

1. I busted my lip open.
2. I busted my hand, have bruises.
3. I slipped on the ice and cracked my head...I mean, not a literal crack or anything, but a nice bang. So then I was very mad at myself; so mad, I just laid there for a few minutes and cursed.
4. Had fight with hubby and cried in the computer room, the shower, and afterwards when I was in the bathroom. Not his fault, though, I was crabbing about the ice all over and he's been stressed about his mom, so he took it wrong and it just went down from there.

All of this after a nasty migraine and one of the worst postdromes I've ever endured at work. I just dragged, even after combining Excedrin with my Axert. Which is likely why I was so clumsy. I had coffee too, no go. After my shower, I thought it'd be great to run into my bedroom doorjam multiple times.

So I got up this morning to go with DH to see MIL, drank more coffee than usual and still dragged. So after MIL kicked us out of her room to get some sleep, I raced home and crawled back into bed myself. I feel better but I'm still crabby, depressed, and agitated. At least I have no migraine, which is surprising after the tumble I took.

The weather here right now is truly bizarre, rain and hail after snowstorm on Thursday and 70 degree weather the previous Monday. I swear I'm moving to the desert when my family is gone!

I hope so! I can't remember the last time Kath was so sick. After ditching church she slept till 10 and felt much better. We even went to a movie (Juno). She has still got a nasty cough, though.

Dh had this before Kath, the last one left is Nikoli, he of the "catch every virus I can" variety. Roll Eyes

Well Leeloo, I was going along feeling bad for you but you made me laugh with this one:

That is so like me too sometimes - when I start banging into things I just don't stop! I hope you get a good sleep and wake up without the clumsies - and recover from all your bangs and bruises!

Other than that - Yay Giants! Happy Dance for Laura and all the other fans!

And I took it pretty easy today but still totally pooped now and have just the tiniest spot of migraine - I've never met such a teensy one before - Imitrex and I are going to try to keep it this small. I'm going to finish foruming and go to bed.

Good night all.

- megs

I just wanted to pop in real quick and check in on everyone. My mom's in town until tomorrow night so I've been in and out. Things here are good. I'll post a longer update in tomorrow's tea room.

Congrats to your Giants, Laura! Though I would have been happy if their score ended with a 6 so DBF and I could have won some money from our pool. Smiler

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Heart
