TGIF baby!

And, I have a three day weekend! DH has some outprocessing briefings he has to attend all next week and us measly spouses are invited to the first day. Of course, I'll be getting up earlier than normal on Monday because we have to drive further, but, still cool! Funny, I've been working a whopping two weeks and I'm already looking for excuses not to have to go in LOL

Well, we didn't get to get DD her ID card yesterday. DH went to the doctor for a routine visit and they sent him home for a mandatory two day sick leave. He's got some type of viral crud much like DS#2 had and now DS#1 is starting to cough. At least DD and DS#2 got their flu shots after the dentist. Actually, they got the mist. I couldn't get it because of my Migraines and my Anemia so I have to wait for them to get the shots back in and it's going to be a long wait from what I understand. Anyone else have shortages by them?

Have a wonderful day and for those of you who are sick and whose family members are sick, hugs all around.

Side note: Sending prayers out to the military personnel who were killed in the Black Hawk crash yesterday. Group Hug

Happy Friday, all!

This week has seemed so long. At least we've made it to Friday. I'm hoping to hear back from my doctor today regarding my latest blood work. This pain is really wearing me out.

Jenny, I'm sorry to hear that your whole family is sick with the flu-especially H1N1. Being a mom of a child with asthma, I know how stressful it can be of wondering when is the "right" time to take them to the ER for their asthma. Luckily, DS is older (18) is able to know himself and has is asthma pretty much under control. Group Hug for you and your family.

I need to do laundry this weekend. Razzer Wish I had someone to do it for me.

Well, I need to get back to work. Hope all have a good Friday and weekend. I'll try to check back at lunchtime. Take care.

Well, between Nikoli being sick the first two days of the week, me being sick the next two and a day off from school today, you'd think I'd really enjoy the chance to sleep in; but did I get that chance? No.

Since I've been sick it's been insomnia, coughing and wheezing in my throat that has kept me awake in the pre dawn hours.

Then Kath wanted to sleep in, she was out late seeing a movie ("Paranormal Activities") but Nikoli was playing in the bathroom next to her room and woke her up. She's not happy.

Nikoli sees the dentist at noon; his tooth looks fine but it is broken off; don't know what dh meant by it was discolored.

Laura, I hope your family starts to feel better.

Heather, I hope you get your test results soon.

TGIF... although I'm looking more forward to Sunday than today. Sunday afternoon I finally get to relax.

Actually got up the courage to send the email to my boss today. Let's see if we get to chat before I leave, or if I have to wait til Monday. I'm really nervous about the whole thing. If I do take a leave I think I'm going to go crazy at home all the time, especially with DBF's parents there. I'd rather be sick and miserable alone than have people constantly there. And I don't want to have to pack up stuff and chill and my parents' house on days when I don't work just to get a little piece and quiet. DBF's house is home now and I'd like to be able to deal with staying there. I guess that'll be an issue I'll have to deal with when the time comes.

Jenny - so sorry to hear that H1N1 has hit your family. I hope you all feel better soon!

Laura - I hope you enjoy your 3 day weekend!

Heather - I hope you do hear from your doctor with your bloodwork results.

Deb - sorry you didn't get to sleep in today. Hopefully you get to relax this weekend.

Well, I guess I'm going to hide out in my office and have lunch and hope everyone leaves me alone. I already have the lights off today...

Hi everyone,
I'm working at home today and its kind of a slow day. We have had more rain and its still cloudy and dreary. I started my new preventive last night at bedtime and I didn't sleep well. I may need to try taking it earlier in the evening. I don't feel too bad today considering that I didn't get much sleep.

Heather - I hope you hear back from your Dr. today and they can figure out what is going on.

Deb- Sorry you have a bad cough! I know what that is like and it is miserable. I hope you get better soon.

Meli- Good luck talking to your boss. I don't blame you for not wanting to be home when you aren't feeling well and your DBF's parents are there. When I'm feeling bad, I just want to rest without a lot of other people around. Will they be there much longer?

Hello everyone. I haven't been around much lately but felt like checking in . . . so here I am! I'm trying a new "quality of life" medication for my constant fatigue. I don't feel much yet except a minor headache. When you suffer from migraine disease it's hard to tell if it a medication causing a headache or not. Time will tell.

Things are quiet here right now. DH got up, fed the dogs, and has gone back to sleep. DS#1 has gone to work and DS#2 is getting ready to leave for work. I look forward to the day when they both are able to afford to be out on their own and DH and I can be empty nesters again.

So sorry to hear that everyone is sick. I hope the swine flu runs its course through this country fast. Having a 3 month old grandson, I worry about his catching it.

Take care everyone.

I feel like complete grossness today. MOH has hit and hit hard. And, of course, because this is my life, they are still running wires and dropping ceiling pieces all over the place.

I don't know what it is about junk food or fast food, but when I have MOH, it makes me feel better! That and some Coke Classic!

Don't expect to see me around that much today. The screen is not that friendly to my eyeballs today. Thumbs Down

Afternoon everyone
TGIF! As usual, I am SO glad it's FRIDAY!

My new girl at work is doing great. I hope next Thursday will be my last late afternoon. I've put in for a day of vacation on 11/13 for my yearly physical with my doc and to talk to him about all of this asthma stuff.

I've got to eat something, but the stupid inhalers make everything taste nasty-even if you brush your teeth after them. I've lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. I don't have much that fits. I wanted to drop some weight, but not like this. Dr/boss didn't even fuss at me when he saw me trying to eat a McD hamburger yesterday. Usually he give me grief about how unhealthy they are, but he actually told me to eat as much of it as I could. I can tell he's worried too. He kept asking me today if I was breathing better. I think he really does care, just in his own weird, warped sort of way.

The asthma is doing better today. I got stupid and felt good yesterday so I didn't take my inhaler at 6 hrs when I was suppose to-I pushed it out to 8 and I'm paying for it today with spasms again. I won't make that mistake again.

I got off work and went to the grocery store. I can't get use to walking slowly and not at my usual speed, but any faster and I just can't breathe. I came home and got a few things done before I had to get the boys. I've got a few more on tap for this afternoon and that's it. I've probably already over done it, so I'm trying not to push my luck.

Laura-good luck on the outprocessing with DH. We have A LOT of military families that are patients and they have a lot to do to out process.

Heather-I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. I hope you get some relief from the pain soon.

Deb-You just need some big Group Hug and chicken soup! I hope you're house gets well soon.

Meil-Good luck with your boss. She sounds like a reasonable lady. Company until Dec.1 ICK!!! If I didn't already drink, that might drive me to it.

Peggy-I hope you get some relief with your preventative soon. The rain seems to be getting a lot of us.

Teri-Good luck with the new meds. I hope they help you quickly.

Eileen-Hope the ceiling noise goes away quick and you get feeling better.

I better go and try to get a few things done this afternoon. I need to dust, but that's not going to happen-even I'm not THAT hard headed! I hope the weather clears for everyone and everyone with the flu/ickies, gets better quickly.

Sounds likely lots of people are way sick on top of our usual migraine issues. I went to see my neuro guy today. We're going to have a go at me taking Skelaxin every night before bed and see if that improves my on again/ off again insomnia bouts. At least I know it's a drug I can take without bizarre side effects.

But... neuro thinks my blood pressure is running high, which I find really weird since I took it yesterday morning (I usually take it 1-2x a week to try and gauge my stress levels) and it was 123/77. Pretty darn normal. So I'm supposed to get my GP's office to check it next week. Ugh. I don't much like those people.

I've already tried 2 bp meds (that were supposed to be preventatives) with horrendous results. I'm not thrilled with the concept of taking more potshots with meds that send my heartrate into the 40's or cause panic attacks.

Update: Nikoli's tooth. The dentist used a gauze pad, wiggled the tooth with his fingers and yanked it out. He said, "Next time, Nikoli, man up and pull it yourself." He was completely joking, he's a good dentist and likes my kids. It was funny.

I have moved on to the heavy ammo for my cough - dark chocolate.

Hey buddies -

I worked at the store this afternoon and tho my sinuses are not 100% cleared up, I did okay. I seem (knock wood) to be recovering from this sinus infection without any antibiotics - that would be the first for many years. Could it be I'm getting healthier? I think the fact that I am sleeping well, and enough, just about every night, has to be a big factor.

Remember the attorney I did a bunch of work for over the summer, who drove me nuts because he always wanted everything at the last minute? Well he called a week ago just before we were leaving for Minn. He said he'd call back Monday. He didn't, and I was sick so I didn't call him. Finally he called today, explained what he wants, and asked if I could get it done over the weekend. I said no. He said, "well just send me whatever you have on Monday morning." I told him I won't have anything Monday morning, I'll do some research today but won't have anything written until Tuesday. He says "whatever you have for me Monday morning is fine." Eeker I have to work at the store tomorrow morning and meet mediation clients in the afternoon and Sunday I am NOT working. Honestly!

I'm done with the Topamax as of yesterday. Finished tapering off. Glad to lose the mental fuzzies.

There are lots of you here today - I started this post hours ago with full intentions of replying to everyone but now I'm tired! I'll try and catch up tomorrow. I did read all your posts and I'm thinking of you all.

- Megs
