Central Mississippi had horrible weather yesterday. Straight-line winds up to 70 mph and possible tornados. Sparky and I hunkered down in the hall with the battery-powered radio, but we didn't even lose power. We're lucky to not even had to lose power. My mom, 4 miles away, did. We had some hail, but the only stuff we have is a few small branches down.
But in the area, Sam's lost all its skylights and some of its roof. So did the Walmart nearby. Many houses in the suburbs with uprooted very large trees through their houses. One tree severed a gas line inside the house, which ignited. The house was a total loss. My parents and a brother and a sister live in the area. Everybody but my mom and I were at work. None of us had major damage, except for my BIL. He's the Director of Golf at a local golf course, and he's got trees down. Gretchen in Mississippi |

I'm glad everyone is safe and sound. Big winds are definitely no fun. Does the wind mess with your head like it does mine?

Gretchen,
I sure am glad to hear you and your loved ones are all OK! Those high winds are really scary! I'm sure ours (here in PA) aren't nearly as severe as yours in Mississippi, but they're STILL scary! |
