Wednesday was surgery day, and everything went as splendidly as it could (hooray!). They took two lymph nodes, along with the lumpectomy, and both were negative. Since the tumor was close to the skin and quite large, the surgeon took a bit more tissue, just to be on the safe side. We got home a little after one in the afternoon and simply crashed, only getting up from our assorted crash spots to cater to Mom's every whim.
Thursday was a bit of a rough, urpy kind of day, but compazine fixed that and led to lots of healing sleep. Yesterday was better, and today mom's doing very well. So, it's all as good as we could hope for, all things considered. Mom is grateful for all the prayers, vibes, wishes, and cyber hugs, and knows that they made a huge difference.  The news about your mother's biopsy being negative is wonderful. That probably was the best Mother's Day for her. It's so good to know that you did not have bad report. Cancer took my mom and stepmom's lives. Mother's Day has special meaning when you lose your mom. So it's wonderful to know that cancer didn't strike again. Mary in NM |

Y'all want an even spiffier update than that the surgery itself went well?
Surgeon guy post-surgical visit was yesterday (Tuesday). Everything is healing quite nicely. Best of all, the pathology report shows both those lymph nodes were absolutely negative on the retest, and so was every bit of the marginal tissue he excised.
