Aww Medieval, I just saw this post, as I havnt been on much. I am sorry for your loss, and you and your family are in my prayers. I am greatful your father wasnt in pain, and was able to be clear headed right to the end. That is truly a blessing for you to be able to be with him like that.

We buried my father yesterday. They estimate that there were about 300 people at the viewing (1 hour before the funeral) and about 100 people at the graveside funeral.
You all have held us up with your good thoughts and prayers. I have felt them all, felt your arms around us every time you thought about us. This is what we are to teach our children and grandchildren in our lives, how to care for each other and love each other. I have to go now. I'm crying again. Here is a late condolance but I am so sorry about your father passing. Everyone can offer words like "he's in a better place" or " I know you will get by" and "time heals all wounds'. But you do not want here those sayings-- you want back what you had. I understand. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss. I will say a prayer you and yours....
