Yesterday I went to the doctor because I was having a "right chest wall pain" when I took a deep breath, especially if I were lying down. The nurse practitioner didn't think it was anything serious, but ordered a chest x-ray to be sure. She called this afternoon and told me I have pneumonia! I am "grounded" tomorrow since I might still be contagious, but our manager said I could do some work at home tomorrow (since I feel great) and not have to take sick leave for the whole day. So I brought some work home.

I feel fine. How bizarre!

Gosh! Well, I hope you get to feeling better than fine as soon as possible. Maybe that's why you were a little subdued last week, as you mentioned in an earlier post?

At any rate- take care of yourself!

Awww...I hope it resolves itself quickly. It's good to hear you feel fine despite the pneumonia. That's always a plus when gifty items like that come along.

Wow, that is a surprise! I'd say "I hope you feel better soon" but you already feel fine!

Take care.

I went back to work today. I continue to feel fine, with occasional awareness that something is "wrong" in my chest!

I guess you're not coughing a lot? Coughing is a huge trigger for me; my migraine MD has me get a flu shot every year to try to avoid bad coughs.

I'm hardly coughing at all. A very shallow, short cough a few times a day. I continue to feel fine.

This is the first day I've felt less than "fine;" I've been quite tired, with a sense of congestion in my lungs, and an occasional shallow cough. A friend who is a nurse suggested the attacked tissue in my lungs may be breaking up and causing an increased sense of congestion. And I'm sure part of my tiredness is due to the time change. I have a very hard time with the fall time change; it's practically impossible for me to train my body to sleep an hour later.

In addition to which, we had medical excitement at church today. Someone collapsed in the choir stall, and then paramedics arrived during the sermon and took the person away! I thought about getting up and following to the hospital, and hospital-sitting as necessary. Hospital-sitting is normally a very comfortable role for me. Then I realized I really couldn't/shouldn't do that when I had pneumonia. So someone else went.

That's kind of crummy that after all this time of feeling pretty much fine you're now feeling the pneumonia. Phooey on that, sez droolie!

I hope that your congregation member is feeling much better today. We had an older member pass out during one of our services last year, and everything came screeching to a halt until after the medics came and went. It kind of throws the whole service wonky. Pastor was able to get the service back on track after about twenty minutes, but it's strange carrying on like there was no disruption.

The sermon didn't miss a beat. The funniest part was the police officer, because of course, they always send an officer when someone calls 911 for an ambulance. The officer literally tiptoed across the front of the church to the ill person in the choir stall.

I feel better today--back to my normal "pneumonia" state.

I go back to the doctor on Tuesday for another chest x-ray. My gut tells me that the pneumonia has not cleared. Here's hoping my gut is proved wrong!
