We have quite a variety on here, so I was wondering what everyone listens to!

Seeing as my DH is in a band (punk/rock/something in between) I have been influenced a lot by what he listens to, and like a bit of everything. Here are my favs:

Annoying Customer (DH's Band)
Letterbox (DH's former band)
Insouciant (our friends band) (All of which have myspace pages if you want to check them out! Big Grin)

Tegan and Sara
Nine Inch Nails
Justin Timberlake
The Sounds
The Thermals
Collective Soul
Any thing on any of the Queer as Folk soundtracks (if ya all don't know that was my all time fav show EVER!)
Broadway stuff (Rent, Wicked)
N'Sync - yes I still love them - and I always will! Heart

I'm sure there is tons and tons more, but those are my top favs...What about you????

Classical Music (everything)

New Age (Jack Johnson, Enya, Celtic Women)

Guitar is my favorite instrument. Music is a great outlet, whether you play or are just an avid listener.

My favorites:

Josh Groban - have every cd he's ever made
Chris Daughtry - American Idol fourth place finisher season 5
Maroon 5
Nickleback
Carrie Underwood
Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20
Kelly Clarkson (can you tell we're American Idol fans)
Queen
Evanescence
Anything from the movie City of Angles
Phantom of the Opera - movie soundtrack ( I can sing the whole movie)

I liked Bo Bice when he was on AI, but he got a raw deal when he signed with BMG as a second place finisher - I think they handcuffed him in the style of music they allowed him to make.

Then I like individual songs:

Hey There Delilah
Wicked Games (Christ Isaak)
Apologize (One Republic)
Dark Waltz (Hayley Westenra - that song was play on Dancing with the Stars a few seasons ago when they did a Halloween version of Dancing and it was so haunting and beautiful)
Barcarolle From The Seasons (was on an XFiles episode)
Adagio for Strings (movie Platoon)

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of now.

My DH's band has been pretty influential in my musical choices of late as well. Especially if I get to play keyboard or sing during the gigs Smiler

Classic Rock / Blues :
Relative Blues (DH's band)
Eric Clapton
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Eagles
Queen

I also like
rock/alternative (Cake, Maroon 5, Nickleback, etc.)

country (Garth Brooks, Reba, Vince Gill)

classical - I spent some time as a classically trained pianist - so Beethoven, Bach, etc. And especially the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

I have to agree with the musicals (Phantom, Rent, Spamalot Wink )

Really I like just about everything in music. Except rap and techno, which I never developed a taste for.

Music minor in viola, so classical. But not Phillip Glass or the other minimalists. The Beatles. Most of the stuff they play on the pre-programmed station.

Well, lots of different stuff!

Classic rock: Eric Clapton (best concert EVER!), Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Police (DH is thrilled they are coming to the area this summer!)

I am also a big Barenaked Ladies fan. And Jimmy Buffet.

I do listen to Mozart when I'm trying to relax a little.

But lately, I get stuck hearing "Kids Bop" or Spongebob Squarepants music collections. (I have two little dictators who LOVE to run the radio at all times.) Wink

Jenny -
Did you see Clapton on his last tour?
DH and I went in STL and had the time of our lives.
I am not one for really loud music but it was awesome.

I know this is kind of weird, but I really don't enjoy listening to music at all. Never have. However, I love to sing. But even when singing, I pay minimal attention to the accompaniment! And although some people seem to find it helpful to listen to a piece when learning to sing it, I don't. A sure way to turn me against any piece of music is to ask me to listen to it, because I don't like to listen to music. To me, the notes are on the page, and listening to it won't help me learn it.

Hmm, I listen to a little bit of everything. My first love is alternative/rock, especially from the early 90s. Current favorite bands include Guster, Muse, Radiohead. In high school I listened to a lot of angry rock music like Limp Bizkit. The four years I spent in SW Virginia definitely influenced my musical taste, and I do like some bluegrass in with my rock - Carbon Leaf, Nickel Creek. Every once in a while I'll listen to some country, maybe Charlie Daniels Band.

I've played clarinet for 15 years, and listen to classical somewhat frequently. My favorite classical pieces are piano sonatas (especially Chopin), and clarinet sonatas.

Every so often I'll get the urge to listen to cheesy pop or bad rap, mainly on top 40s stations. That's usually if I'm traveling and am stuck in a rental car.

So, yeah, you name the type of music, I probably have it on my iPod.

Hm...I like a lot of different artists.

My absolute favorite is David Bowie, and even though I am younger, I've been privileged to see him in concert twice! Once in 1996 and again in 2004.

I also loves James Blunt, and I've seen 2 of his shows as well, only 6 months apart! I know a lot of people can't stand his music, but I think they really do put the worst songs of his out on the radio. I honestly can no longer stand "You're Beautiful" myself, and my favorite song of his ended up being a bonus download track from the new album. It wasn't even included on the new CD.

Others I listen to include Milla Jovovich, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Bryan Adams, Queen, Type O Negative, and Peter Gabriel.

But I mostly listen to movie scores...I love soundtracks/musicals. When I'm watching a movie I'm usually taking in the soundtrack as well. For me, that's a huge part of experiencing a movie and I like being able to "hear" my movies when I am out and about. Some of my favorites are "The Fifth Element," Star Wars trilogy, "Superman," "Legend" (both versions), "Labyrinth," "Gladiator," "Moulin Rouge!" 1 and 2, "Romeo + Juliet" 1 and 2, and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy....I have tons of soundtracks.

I like James Blunt too, and Aqua Lung. I also love movie soundtracks because it seems to have a bit of everything. I really love the Bed of Roses soundtrack and oh, Dazed and Confused soundtracks are awesome, Hackers soundtracks, the Matrix.....

I like it all pretty much. I like one violin piece a lot but I can't remember who it is now - I have the CD somewhere but can't find it now. It's really good.

I hate to say that I don't like many of the American Idol people. I like Kelly Clarkson a bit, but that's pretty much it.

Oh and I like the new Ryan Cabrera song (I don't know if I spelt that right, since I just like the song, but not really a "fan")
