Have any of you seen this web site? I've run across it a few times when I was looking for information on migraines. This doctor offers a "migraine cure". I've always run away from anything offering a cure for migraines. I'm just curious as to what others have to say about this guy and his book.

The information on the site looks "fishy" to me. I wouldn't spend the money to find out.

Unfortunately, anything too good to be true usually is.

I don't know anything personally about this book or the author BUT I don't have a lot of faith in claims that contradict themselves or don't even make sense. I think it's a mean thing to do to people.

First of all, a cure is "the eradication of disease or sickness." Near the bottom it says that the book will tell you what hormone supplements to take. If you are taking a pill (natural or Rx) for the rest of your life you are not cured. You might be improved, but if you are cured then the disease is gone and you shouldn't have to take medicine anymore.

Also they say "The Institute’s success rate is now at an astounding 80%. 4 out of every 5 women following this treatment plan will significantly reduce or completely eliminate their migraine headaches." Significantly reducing is not the same as a cure.

Also, all they talk about is Women. Men have migraines too! There's no mention at all what the men should do. And what about child migraines? I don't think anyone would suggest giving sex hormones to small children. That seems kinda fishy to me.

Now there is some truth buried in there:

Changes in hormone levels can cause migraines in women.

Birth control pills can made your migraines worse (they do for me) or in other cases they have actually made people better. I know there are people on this forum who do better on the pill. So I think there is some merit to the fact that hormones are involved. I might even be convinced that taking specific hormones would really help. But they shouldn't be calling something a cure when it clearly isn't.

We all spend lots of money with medications, doctors, switching from doctor to doctor and that is what frustrates us all. I think we all long for a cure so bad we're willing to try a lot of things that sound like baloney to a healthy person.

This sort of thing might be something that helps someone, but I would still consult a medical professional before trying it. A lot of doctors are understanding about non-traditional therapies. I'm not anyone's doctor of course and can't tell them what to do, but don't get your hopes up too high.

I'm not one that would go to this doctor. I was just worried about others that might fall for this. Especially, since it looks like it is coming from a doctor. I know that for some migraine patients that hormones play a big role but it's not the case for everyone. I don't like the fact that they use the word "cure". I think that it is very misleading.
