To understand Hemiplegic Migraine, we have to understand that Migraine attacks are episodic manifestations of a genetic neurological disease. Migraine can present in a variety of ways. Hemiplegic Migraine is a rare form of Migraine, made more confusing by there being two variations: Familial Hemiplegic Migraine (FHM) and Sporadic Hemiplegic Migraine (SHM).

Thanks for posting the link to that article. My Sol has FHM and it helps to read up as much as we can about it. We have found that many doctors have no clue that there is such a form of migraine disease. Heck many don't even refer to any type of migraine as a disease.

If we had a dime for everytime a doctor called her migraine attacks a "very bad headache" we would be rich.

You're very welcome, Dave. Glad it's helpful. I hear you on the whole issue with doctors. It's pathetic.

Whenever I can find any new info, I'll either update that article and post that it's been updated or write a new one.
