I'm new to this site - and posted my details on a sharepost.
I am now 44, and have been contending with them since I was 18. I managed to complete my 21 year military career in 2003. I was doing very well upon retirement and had gone quite some time until "it" came back. However, I have not been so fortunate for the past two years, they have become a very familiar and frequent occurrence. It's nice to have a found this site where I can attain some validation of what I am experiencing and to know I am not alone. I am very lucky to have a very strong support network around me as I endure this chronic condition. Carol |

If your migraines are becoming frequent, are you on a preventive? Please don't give up looking for a preventive. There are many options: Migraine Preventive Medications - Too Many Options To Give Up! You should also consider seeing a migraine specialist. Many of our forum members travel long distances, even by air, to see their specialists: Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists Please take a look at the Start Here folder at the top of the forum, so that you get the most out of your forum experience. Hello Carol and welcome to the forum family! We're so happy you found us. You've come to the right place for accurate information and caring support.
I see Nut gave you a great start already so I'll just add a couple more links I think you'll find helpful. Do you keep a Headache and Migraine Diary? It's a great tool to track triggers, the effectiveness of medications, and any patterns to your Migraines and headaches. I keep mine in Excel for easy editing. Do you know what you're triggers are? Mine are lack of sleep, not eating, changes in the barometer and strong smells like certain perfumes. Here's some information on triggers that you can take a look at: Common Migraine Triggers Stackable Triggers Welcome again! I look forward to seeing you around the forum and remember, if you have any questions, just ask away Laura Forum Moderator |
