Hi, new here... I found this community through searchingon Google for information on Topamax. I am just finishing up week two on "dopy-2-the-max" but overall happy with it. My insurance has a $150 co-pay on it though so I am praying that God shows me a way to provide this for myself.
I have three children - ages 5, 7, and 9. My 9yo will be homeschooling for a while so we can address some of her special needs. Oh, I am 32, I live in Oregon and love to cook, BBQ, cross stitch, read, pray, nap, and play with my two doggies Jessica |

Hi Jessica, welcome to MyMigraineConnection. I'm glad to hear you found us and sharing your story with us.
As far a topamax goes, it works wonders many people. Topamax is the most recently approved of the four approved for Migraine prevention, and the only one of the four still under patent with generics not yet available in the US. Getting caught up in the potential side effects, is a trend better left alone. It can become a self-fulfilling prophecy - meaning you may get so worried about the side effects that you can convince your body to experience them. I'm not suggesting you are doing that, just something to be careful of since you mentioned "dopy-2-the-max" There are over 100 medications being used for Migraine prevention. So if topamax isn't the right med, there are many more to chose from. Click here We look forward to hearing more from you. |

What a coincidence... I love to nap too! My favorite hobby is a good nap.
I am glas the dopamax... I mean topamax is working for you. When I was on it I felt duller than dirt for a bit, but that evened when I reached the recommended dose for a few weeks. For me it was hard to say that was a side effect at first, since migraines and FMS make me a little befuddled at times. Welcome to the forum! |

Nancy, Sol, and Myth... thank you for the Welcomes
Yes Myth, it takes a lot of practice to master napping... but well worth every second Nancy, I understandy what you are saying about "seeing" side-effects when there may or my not be any... my husband "sees" them in me... if I get angry about something he says I had a "manic episode" or was "overly irritable". If I take a nape more than once a week, he thinks that my depression is coming back and my meds aren't working. Its annoying, but I know it is just because he loves me so very much. Thanks againg for the welcomes |

Please add my welcome to the pile, Jessica!
I really like to cross-stitch, too. I haven't found time to work on one lately, though, since I'm also a very avid (for lack of a better word) reader, and that's snatched up my free time lately. What kind of doggies do you have? Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |
