I know that people get migraines when they are young. But it seems to me (which might mean nothing Smiler that most of this board is around 30 - 50. I got my first migraine at 37 - now I will be 44. Has there ever been a poll done - just wondering!

I think we did a poll on the About forum once upon a time.

For the record, I'm 35, and have had migraines for about 20 years now, though I didn't know they were migraines until they hit hard at 28, and I got a diagnosis.

I'm 53.
Latest round started when I was 41, which is when I was actually diagnosed.
Before that, when I was 20. Before that, when I was 12.
Before that, I had the vague "Mama, my tummy hurts" abdominal migraines when I was 5 - 10.

I am 22, with severe daily migraines for about 3-4 years, but I remember migraine like episodes since I was little.

I'm 35, will be 36 in August. I started daily headaches in November and never had a history of headaches before that.

I was headache-prone in high school and college. Kept Excedrin in my purse. Would probably be illegal these days. I first saw a doctor about my head when I was 23 and a freshman in law school.

They calmed down after law school but showed up again when my son turned 2. I was 32. I started on preventives then. Three years later, I had to quit work. I haven't been able to work for 15 years. You can't practice law if you can't commit to a deadline.

I'm 50 now. -- Gretchen
