At my peak, while taking Nardil and Zyprexa, I weighed 245 pounds. I've been trying to break through 200 for 7 months. I finally did it Friday. 198! A major victory.

I did Weight Watchers last year, but quit because I got my feelings hurt when they were tacky because I was losing weight too slowly to suit them. And if I heard the leader say that it took her 6 whole months to lose 20 pounds I thought I'd scream! I did WW for a year and lost 17.

I've been doing Diet Center since the first of the year. WW and DC were the two commercial programs my doc recommended.

Breaking through 200 is exciting!

Congrats, Gretchen!!!

WOOOOHOOOOOOO!

I now know how hard taking off medication weight is... and I totally can say what you've done is AMAZING!

(I've been struggling with 15 Baclofen pounds for almost 6 months... and when I stepped onto the doctor's scale a week ago and saw that I lost 4 pounds, I jumped up and down in utter joy!!...The Nurse said that she had never seen that reaction before!)

Celebrate! I'll bring the non-food item for the online celebration... But seriously- do something for yourself that you enjoy-- reward yourself... that's a major accomplishment! Yes

Congrats Gretchen and Jamie! It's hard enough to deal with the migraines, let alone the medication weight gain (and all the other side effects!)

Thanks! Hey, guess what- got another 2 off as of this morning... when I went to doc for this sunburn...

This whole not being able to eat solid food things because of my temp. bonded teeth (one and a half more weeks!) is actually winding up doing a really good thing for me... eating more carefully, skipping snacks, save ensure- which has vitamins/ minerals, more fruits... more careful and intentioned eating. I doubt I'll get back to 125, but climbing down into the low-mid- 130's is making my knee feel SO much better. I think that if I hadn't had to take it off, I would have wound up needing knee surgery by the end of this year- or next year at the latest...
I'm definitely trying to avoid that-

As of 2 years ago, my insurance wouldn't pay for the knee surgery, saying that the cartilage tears and loss wasn't "significant enough" and the doctor said that unless I was in constant pain, repairing the (partially tearing/torn)ACL fully without scoping the cartilage is really going to just put me through it twice... He'd prefer to do it ALL once it was clear that the insurance would pay for him to clean the whole mess up. (Which I sincerely thank him for being honest enough to say!)

So, another 2 pounds away from surgery. WOOHOO!

Just wanted to add more encouragement for you- I never would have posted anything here, if it weren't for you... and it made me feel great to see it on the screen- that med weight CAN come off... it had been making me a little crabby, as none of my clothes fit, and I didn't want to spend money on clothes to fit that weight... but how many times in a week can you wear the same pair of jeans?!

Anyway- three cheers for you again- and thanks for the inspiration to celebrate my good news too...

Heart

Jamie
