Migraine

I discovered this site little over a year ago and gotten many info. I do have a profile on the connection area, where I can post my shareposts, when I get the chance my profile is also Mellie. My real name is Melissa but most everyone calls me Mellie or Missie, either one is fine.

I have always gotten headaches when I was little but I was diagnosed a Migraine Suffer in 1994, which I have never heard of.

How I treat it. Well I have tried everything, like prescribe meds, which all it does for me is to sleep but not relieve the pain. I do find myself taking Excedrine Migraine when I really need it, usually I take it when its the last resort where I have tried everything else, such as sleep, cold ice pack and meditation.

Anyways I am glad the I finally delurked myself and register here.

I think we talked about Excedrine in your SharePost, so forgive me if I am repeating myself. Taking Excedrine, tylenol and other OTC medications as well as certain prescription medications more than 2-3 times during a week can put you into a horrible cycle called Medication Overuse Headache. It may feel like you have tried everything out there for Migraine prevention but that really isn't possible. There are preventive medications that do more than put you to sleep, I've been there ! Nancy, your right. Over use of meds. Yesterday I was thinking of what can be the cause of the headaches and it downed on me and realized what I did, which I could have smacked myself for doing this and yes I have done this before. You think I learned my lesson before.

Right now I only had a slight headache in the morning but that went away and so far the day I have been all right.

The only incorrect question is the one you don't ask. I'am just the spouse of A Migraine victim. So no I don't suffer like you do. Do live the life though. I know it's hard, But not impossible to deal with. hang in there Missie, You found the right place.

Glad to hear the information triggered your memory so to speak. Sometimes I feel exactly the same way. If it is not stuck right in front of my face I don't get it.
