Before I came to this forum I spent my time on A macho guy forum about gun's and hunting stuff like that. I'am even A moderator there. It seem's so meaningless now though. That subject is just hobby yapping stuff that just doesn't go anywhere. Here I feel like what I say may help someone in real life situation's. I keep coming here more and more, And less and less there. I can't help it. I'am drawn here somehow. The reality, Someone saying how they hurt. That's not A hobby. That's real no playing around Pain. I can't turn my back on that. I'am A tough guy man yahoo! Yet I can read post's here that make me cry. I'am nothing special. I just care. I thank God that I do though. As hard as my life has been I'am thankful that it's taught me to care. And I'am thankful that you folk's have reminded me of what's really important

You are very special, because you care, Tim. And we appreciate that very, very much.

We're sorry we've gotten you "in trouble" with your other forum and your duties there. But we're not sorry you landed here, 'because we like you and Marietta a bunch! Smiler

Don't be sorry for anything. It's not like I'am losing sleep over it. I'am here because I relize what's important. I'am not really getting in troulble. I was just yapping. Should have worded it differant. What I was trieng to say was I know what's important, And real pain is more important than hobbie's and such. I collect antique military firearm's. I have several. But I've not bought any for several month's. I can't justify spending money on that when Marietta need's help.

Tim, my DH's dad who passed away gave him several antique guns. They mean so much to him, yet, it breaks his heart to even look at them because he remembers how much his father loved them. I am still trying to get DH to buy a lockable display case because that is where they should be.

To honor and remember his dad and also to help DH grieve and cherish those memories of his dad.

Myself, I am a .357 kinda gal! I love to go to the range and I am looking for one nearby. You would think there would be a ton since we are a military community Big Grin

Sorry your in trouble Tim..lol..but, I am very happy that you and Marietta joined the forum.

Laura..my husband has a gun ( I am not into guns so I don't know what kind) I just know it is a rifle. His Grand-father gave it to him and it is a VERY SPECIAL gun to my husband. So, I understand your husbands feeling, well the best that I can through my husband. I think someone could tell him I will give you a million dollars for it and he would tell them to get lost. On the other hand I think he would sell me for a million...LOL.

Tim, honey if there were only more men out there like you!!!!!!

On and FYI - DH and I are planning a trip to the firing range.....I used to go when I was younger with my father. I have not been in a while. DH wants to shoot rifles - I prefer the .357 magnum. See - My dream job is to be an FBI agent - criminal profiling (I don't know if any of you watch Criminal Minds - but that is what I want to do!!!!!)

But I'm 30 and the cut off for Quantico is 36 and I don't have a BA yet.....but here's to dreaming!

So don't think ya can't talk guns here in off topic! Big Wink We'll know what you're talking about....uh oh maybe I shouldn't go THAT far... LOL

Have a happy turkey day!

Hey Tim,

Sometimes we have to give up "things" for the people we love. It may be a temporary thing. Marietta wants you to be happy and healthy too!

Have a good day!

Lisa, both my DH and I feel the same way about our weapons. His is emotional mine is, well, for lack of better words, protection. Funny, when I lived in NY I was against them. Then we moved when my surroundings changed, so did my mind.

Yeah, I agree, my DH would be more apt to sell me then his dads rifles! LOL

German Whalter PPK, German Luger, Russian Nagant. WW1, And 2. That's my cup of tea. I'am A history nut. I don't shoot modern firearm's anymore. My oldest is 1867. To each his or her own though. Just like hearing the old dog's bark again.
