Hey everyone, I'm working on reading through the weekend's posts but I thought I'd take a break and update a bit about my vacation with DBF.
He and I left Friday afternoon for Olympic National Park, specifically the Pacific coast. We stayed at a lodge right on the ocean. We spent some time doing some easy hikes on the beach, a drive into the temperate rainforest, and on Monday drove the other way around the Olympic Peninsula so we could drive up to Hurricane Ridge. The weather was beautiful and sunny the entire vacation, which is very rare for February! The beastie unfortunately vacationed with us. I had my normal daily pain, which was tolerable. Saturday night the beastie attacked with all of its claws. The pain wasn't that bad, but everything else was, including a bad patch of soupey poopies. Luckily I was ok after a few hours. I didn't immediately recognize it as migraine so I didn't take anything for it. Sunday was ok - I learned my lesson and took it *much* easier - but last night when we got home was another not great night. I immediately took some promethazine and Imitrex + ibuprofen, which knocked out most of the pain and other migraine symptoms, and gave me a good night's rest. So, overall, DBF and I had an absolutely wonderful time. It was so worth it to take some time for ourselves and enjoy a brief vacation. Even with the beastie trying to spoil things, we had a great time. We're already making plans to go back to the coast. It's so nice to remember that there is life outside this disease - even when it tries to ruin everything! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com Why do I capitalize Migraine? MJ - Sounds like a wonderful time! Good for you for not letting the migraines and daily pain (or the fear of them) stop you - it's a great example of planning around them and setting things up to have a good time. Inspiring to me.

Thanks everyone! I'll try to post a few pictures later - they're on DBF's computer since my laptop can't handle them.
