Hi guys!
I've heard alot of you talk about Midrin on this forum and have a few questions.

Is it really an abortive and not just a pain killer?

Is it safe for hemiplegic migraineurs?

And if I have to get it in the states * I heard Canada was pulling it off the market.... or is that the same story as the states?* how do I go about convincing the pharmacist that its not true that there is no midrin!? ( that article Teri wrote that said midrin does exist, pharmacies just dont tell you?)

Bim

Hello, Bim. Here is information about Midrin:

MIDRIN Oral

It's my understanding that it is an abortive.

Midrin and only one generic are available. The other generics are no longer being made. However, some people in the US are having difficulty getting it. I think people are calling around to various pharmacies until they find one that says they can get it.

Yep, Midrin is really an abortive. As for whether or not it is safe for hemiplegic migraine and specifically you, that's something you need to take up with Dr. Young.
