There are 7 12-13 year-old boys here now. Adam's 13th b-day party. I could stand it and be nice and gracious if I didn't have a mig. With as many as I've been getting lately maybe I should have said no to a sleep-over this year.
I have not been sleeping this week - three nights in a row of insomnia and I tried to nap today but Adam was so excited he kept making noise and waking me up. All day I have been cranky and pro-dromy and just waiting for the migraine to show up. We managed to find a friend to help ferry the boys to the movies, but I had to go and pick some of them up after. Never been to that theater before, bad directions, got lost in the dark. Got the two rowdiest boys in the car on the way back - they were making prank phone calls to girls on their cell phones all the way back. Loudly. On speaker phone. I asked them to stop so they started playing loud music. Finally got home, ate so I could take the triptan without vomiting, took it. Boys are underneath my room playing loud music. Danny took Rachel to a friend's house to sleep. Wish I could go too! When he comes back he'll quiet them down and keep them contained. They're all so much bigger and louder than last year! And last year they were just into their computer games, this year it's loud rock music too. I feel like such a mean party pooper but I want them all to go away! This is a bad one. Imitrex hasn't kicked in yet but the pain came on fast and it's stronger than I've had in a while. I guess if it gets bad enough we can send them home but Adam will be so disappointed. I feel really trapped right now. - Megs |

Oh Meg,
They are like out of control lab puppies that have no idea how loud they are. Do you have ear plugs to help dull the noise? I confess the last 2 sleep overs the kids had I sent them to the fathers. I felt guilty, but I could not handle it. Does ice help? Will Danny get the noise level down to a reasonable level? It does not have to be so loud as they think to be enjoyable. Take care. Cindy |

Thanks Cindy - Danny got back and quieted them down for awhile, long enough for imitrex to work. It's some better. I just hope I can sleep. They are puppies! Some of them are very big puppies with brand new deep voices!

Aww, Megs, I hope you're feeling better by now. It sounds like one of those days where everything goes wrong.
I'll bring some chocolate to your (quiet and not rowdy) pity party, and some cake too for good measure. And have lots and lots of gentle hugs. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com Why do I capitalize Migraine? Oh, Megs, the prank phone calls! BTDT.
I'm glad you're feeling better. In the end you'll be glad you had the sleep over because Adam will be so happy about it. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

If it becomes a matter of, "No music that can be heard upstairs or everyone goes home," put it that way. There may be some disappointment, but they can still enjoy themselves if they are the only ones who can hear the music. And you definitely have the right to set that limit.
Take care of yourself. I hope you are sound asleep by now. |

Hi there - pity party is over but the sleepover is still going on. Danny just went down to make the pancakes. He was great with them last night and they really quieted down. (Former cub scout leader!) Some of them were up til 3, but it was quiet after 1.
This is a worse migraine than I've had in a few weeks. The boys quieted down and my head pain went from an 8 to a 3, but I was awake vomiting for awhile. Stomach still hurts and my head is at about a 2 this morning. I'm staying in bed for now. Thanks so much for the sympathy - it was just what I needed. Deb I actually would have been laughing at the prank phone calls if they weren't just so loud! They weren't mean, just silly. I really like these boys. Jenny glad to see you on and I hope your nasty post-drome has left! Thanks to everyone, I love you bunches! - Megs |

Oh, I had to keep from laughing, too. They were making the phone calls at 1:30 in the morning, calling boys and using fake Chinese accents. I was in the bathroom, next to Kath's room, when I hear them.
They tried to justify it by saying they were using cellphones so no one would know it was them. Uh huh, let's just knock it off. It was way too late!
