Did you know that on average A child laugh's about 150 time's A day. And an adult laugh's about on average 10 time's A day. What's wrong with this picture? When did we forget to laugh, And just enjoy the simple thing's around us. I wish I could laugh 150 time's A day. And another thing while it's on my mind. People alway's ask me what I'am smiling about. My answer is alway's I didn't know I was smiling. Do I smile that much? I do know my body langauge is like an open book. But doe's that smiling thing mean I do have A positive outlook? I like to think it doe's. That's what I strive for.

Just have to bring it up again. I forgot what it was to laugh. Then somehow I stumbled across this silly show on of all thing's PBS. Called Red and Black in Opossum texas or something like that. Just so stupid it was funny. I havn't laughed like that in year's. How doe's that work? I brought up laughter, A subject I thought was lost to me and now that silly show made me laugh so much I'am thinking Alka Seltzer. Laughing too much give's me heartburn. Go figure. Too wierd. I talk about it, Then something make's me laugh like that. But man it feel's good. My poor ole hound Duke looked at me like I was crazy. Guess he never seen me laugh. Point being. This forum and the help given has helped me relax enough to actually laugh again. If you only knew me you would relize how big A statement that is. Thank's

There is very little in life better than a great big, hearty laugh, and it's most fun when you get to share them.

Some of my very favorite memories are of laughing with my grandma until the tears rolled, we were breathless, and ended up feeling pretty much giddy for hours afterward. All it took was a little giggle to get us started, and once in a while we wouldn't be able to stop for a solid hour or better. I miss that a lot, along with the big hugs that came with.

I agree, laughter always helps me! I think that is why I love stupid comedies, so goofy, you just have to laugh. I am blessed with kids who aren't afraid to act silly and that is a huge help!

I also crave stand up, not the nasty, nothing but curse words and gross stuff, but good quality stand up. Gaffigan (sp), Dane Cook are my favs. I watch stupid shows that people normally don't like My Name is Earl and The Office, just to laugh.

I have mentioned before that when I migraine I now have the ability to temporarily push the pain away...I ALWAYS do that when my neighbor calls. She is for sure my guardian angel. She is so funny and when I am down, she always, always asks if she can do anything. I always refuse (Her DH is deployed right now and she has enough on her plate) but the offer is a true one.

She also knows that I may be sobbing on the phone but it is okay to share her funny stories about her kids and mine (they may as well be related!). She knows that the humor helps relieve the pain, even if it is temporary. The best thing about her, aside her genuine concern for me and the family (especially when my DH is TDY) is that I can look out the window and see her...we laugh about that too Big Grin

Oh, and another fav, is watching Funniest videos, babies and pets are the best because they are so innocent.

Thanks Tim!!!!

Laura, if she's making a sincere offer of help, consider that she may feel it will help HER to get out of her own concerns and help someone else for a bit. As long as you don't overload her, which I doubt you would do.

I'm glad she's able to help you laugh.

Nutcracker-You know, I never thought of it like that. I am stubborn (as you have seen in my posts) and it didn't even occur to me that while her DH is out to sea, kids are at school maybe she wants to be needed?

Hmmm, very, very good point! Thanks for getting these stubborn eyes to open just a bit more Flower

Of course I believe it, Laura! My point is that you should give her the opportunity she's requesting to have that wonderful feeling of helping you.

Between the two of you, the help is obviously mutual. That's the best way.
