Hi everyone!
I was absent for quite some time. I don't know about you, but it is very hard for me to find the time to actually sit here and read. I love it, but I barely have time to check my emails, I will try my hardest to keep up, because I believe that this is a great way of keeping up with all the new things about migraine. I will do a quick update: I think that wehn I was here last time I was taking nortriptylline, which made it impossible for me to pee, so it had to be stopped. Then I was on Sibelium only for a few months, which wasn't helping much but the doctor said why stop it, just stick with it. Do I did. My next choice was Sansert and I can tell you this... amazing... after so many years I was able to enjoy life, all of my migraines were responding to pain meds <couldn't take imitrex, while on it) and were very infrequent. Then I stopped Sibelium because I figured I was gaining weight on it. Since starting Nortriptylline I wenr from 42 kg to 53kg. And after stopping Sibelium, the fun started. My heart rate went up to 120, at rest, and I was really dizzy. I went to my family doctor, she did an ECG and 2 day holter monitor, everything came back fine. She encouraged me to talk to my migraine doctor if it isn't the Sansert. HE decided it might be and I should just go off it, decreasing by 1 pill every 2-3 days (I was on 3 a day). Do I decreased my dose, and woke up the next day shaking horribly, with numb hands and face, and really high heart rate. I had an appointment with my family doctor, so I took a taxi and went, she sent me to an ER immediately. When I got to ER, my heart rate was 150, so in I went, no waiting. I was put on all kinds of machines and everything. After giving me Ativan, the shakes stopped a bit and heart rate got more stable. Very scary, very... Luckily, nothing happened to me, with Ativan I got through it. I was told I went through withdrawal symptoms. No, I am off the Sansert (about a week) and I feel very good. Minimal headaches, it was a few years ago when I felt this good. So we will see. Can't wait to learn so much again from all of you. Have a lovely day. |
