Hi,
First of all, I apologize if this is already discussed on the site somewhere. I did look-but didn't find it.
Now....I am trying to figure out how to get approval from my insurance to see Dr. Krusz. I have an EPO (no benefits if the MD is not in network). I don't think there are any real migraine specialists anywhere near me. The closest one listed on this site is about 250 miles from here (in Dallas). That guy is on my insurance, and I have seen him and am not impressed. He doesn't seem to have very much of his practice devoted to migraines. When I have the insurance co. search for someone I can see, Migraine does not come up as a specialty. There are plenty of neuros and pain specialists, but how do I get the insurance co. to understand that a neurologist is not necessarily a migraine specialist.
I'd really appreciate ideas. I'm going to call the ins. company again in the morning, and want to have a good plan when I call. I did think of having my PCP write a letter saying that he is who I need to see. So far, that's all I have.
Thanks!

Good Evening and Welcome,

I understand how difficult it can be to find things when your are new to a site. I just happen to see a series of posts recently that specifically inciated that Dr. Krusz does not take insurance.

Here is the link to the sites Migraine Specialists. These providers are all patient recommended and are migraine specialist.

I hope this helps.

Cindy

While Dr. K doesn't "take" insurance, I know some insurances have reimbursed their customers something after they've seen him. Not necessarily insurances that require all services to be in-network, though.
